The Netherlands looked much, much better in their match against Romania, as they put in easily their best performance of the tournament thus far. Cody Gakpo continued his superb tournament with yet another goal, and set one up as well.
Turkey shocked Austria as two corner kick goals were enough for them to just edge past the Austrians! A fantastic save from Mert Günok was Turkey’s big saviour.

Matches between smaller countries is often fireworks and drama from both sides, not just from one. Big countries against each other, especially during the group stages, is the absolute worst type to watch. Two countries that don’t want to lose, instead of two countries that want to win.

Agreed. I'm old enough to remember the days when avoiding tackles was part of the art of football. Now , if someone breaths in their direction, players collapse like divas in the most dramatic way possible. Schwalbe = yellow card, I say.

Despite being a diehard Dutch fan, I still think the 2nd goal was unfair and also I think the build up to the goal ie, the pass from Depay to Gakpo, I think Depay was in offside position when he received the ball. Romanians played so well. Even though I didn't want Netherlands to lose but I also felt sad for Romanian loss. Now talking about Turkey vs Austria, I was actually rooting for Austria before the match but seeing how beautifully and passionately Turkish played, I couldn't not root for them. It was one of the most beautiful football I've ever watched.

The so called 'stupid corner goals' was most likely studied by Türkiye before the match, and it was clearly a weakness of the Austrian team. They just couldn't score against a well defending team. Türkiye was the underdog and they played the right game and won, its simple as that.
