I think it's because he knows he was an adult that got a teenager pregnant and her life has been a mess ever since. The scene where she asks her mum for help is heart breaking. So I reckon he feels bad and wants to do what he can to help her to make himself not feel so responsible

I remember that. Gary kept telling Amber to watch what she does because she was going to get CPS called on her and she thought Gary was going to do it and then because MTV was filming it all they couldn't stop it so they aired it. And then someone that wasn't Gary called CPS on Amber and now with how things are now 3 years + years later she can't see her son anymore and she only sees Leah. I wonder how Leah feels not getting to see her brother anymore and also I wonder if Amber thinks long and hard about how things played out. I wish Amber had listened to Gary When he said that she needed to watch it because CPS would get called on her and she sat there telling him and her friends later that CPS couldn't take her kid away and that nothing would happen and it did happen. Did she not think that someone out there after seeing this wouldn't have reported her. And plus why wasn't MTV in trouble for showing this. They could have gotten hurt or worse. But now the show has gotten so out of control.

Brother, driver, babysitter, mother, father, friend, shopper, appointment setter, chief bottle washer.....It's good Kristina has a good head on her shoulders and level of confidence because that situation can easily go left in so many areas. Amber has gone back and forth regarding Kristina. One minute she hates her the next she is watching her son then she hates her again and now she likes her. I think it coincides with if she needs Kristina for something like watching her son while she spends time Leah or if Leah will only see her if she's nice to Kristina or something else.

Leah is 14 now and she has a very strained relationship with amber - for example, for her 14th bday, she asked Gary to not invite amber… also with amber’s son James, she sees him like 5x a year because he lives in Cali with his dad.

I had hopes for her after she got out the first time. Thought she'd get it together, but she's too selfish. I have to give it to Gary because he really did what he needed to do as a father. She just digs herself in deeper

It was pretty funny how it went from Leah being born to her as a toddler. Like, hmmmm wonder what happened to the domestic abuse/assault and the countless scenes of Amber being a horrible, nasty, ungrateful, absent mother

Amber has always been incredibly self centered as a parent. I agree that Leah seems to really love her mom, but I disagree that that means someone is a good mom. The sad innocence of children is that they generally idolize their parents regardless of their relationship with them or the toxicity that they have been through. In fact, they are often more obsessed with the parent if they are inconsistent or toxic because they fear losing them and are desperate for their approval and attention. It's sad.
