With the dual stick controls, each stick represents one of your feet. You will need to learn how to control them and transfer weight, just like on a real skateboard. The physics have been developed with a focus on realism, smoothness and immersion. Just like in real life for a new skateboarder, the first hours can seem challenging, but once you have mastered the technique, you will feel the unrivalled thrill of pulling off your very first kickflip! Session: Skate Sim also includes full options customisation, so you can enjoy the perfect experience tailored to you. A full tutorial provides all the help you need to get started, and you can choose from four difficulty levels! THE 1990S AND SKATE CULTURE Inspired by the golden age of street skating - the 1990s - Session: Skate Sim lets you experience true skateboarding and its culture: no scoring system; just you, your spot and your imagination! There's no need for judges to tell you that your noseslide or varial heelflip are perfect for this spot. And because certain locations are iconic, the developers have added several of them to the game for you to skate in and express your creativity, including Black Hubbas (New York City), Brooklyn banks (New York City), FDR Park (Philadelphia) and many other spots.

Skating and pulling off the best lines in the best spots is one thing, but if no one is there to film it, it didn't really happen… In Session: Skate Sim, you can film with a 1990s filter or fisheye lens, and you can use the video editor to create your clips and share them. You can play with multiple options, including changing the field of view, time of day, filters, and different camera views (tripod, orbit, etc.). Session: Skate Sim also offers the chance to go from skater to filmmaker: pull off your moves then go into film mode to experience the action from the point of view of your camera operator and create the best clip.
CUSTOMIZATION
Show off your style with an extensive customization system for your skater and skateboard. By completing challenges, you earn money to spend in skate shops. You can find nearly 200 items (hoodies, shoes, caps, T-shirts, trousers, etc.) from top brands, such as Fallen, Zero, GrindKing, Thankyou, HIJINX Net, Antilanta, Roger Skate CO, No-Comply, iDabble and others. You can also customise your skateboard with over 250 parts, such as wheels, trucks and many other components from famous brands like, No-Comply, GindKing, Thankyou and many others. In addition to the design aspect, the components (trucks, riser pads, wheels…) impact the way you skate. Find the right ones for your style and shred the most iconic spots!

It's crazy how I remember these days, always wanting more footage and updates. I couldnt wait to see what all their work was for. Now we have the beginning of the full release and it's pretty damn good. Really cool to see how far we've come from the early demos

Same for me, I refunded Session cause I thought its too hard then got Skater XL Now I don't play SXL anymore and I bought Session full price :'D

If people think of tricks as INPUTS, it makes it so much easier to grind and flip. I thought Session was tricky because of Lazy Day made it easy with XL. But when I realized that Session is mainly INPUTS instead of just moving the sticks lazily to the side for a grind. Session will always be better and WAY more advanced than XL will ever be. Love what they going to be doing with this game! THIS is the truest skateboard game out and if you try to say XL is better, I'll embarrass you with facts.

I absolutely agree, Session is basically the best game. I have played both games a lot, but to me personally, as a developer, it just feels like the way the controls work in XL is a lot more fun. That is simply due to the concept of applying pressure live. If Session would apply something like that, or made a mode for that, I would actually never even hop into XL for some flow gameplay here and there. EDIT: Not only applying pressure live, but the whole concept of having life inputs makes it feel more natural, flowy and generally more fun to play. In Session you need to do the input before you actually pop the trick, while in SXL you can do it pop and flick basically "at the same time". And you can simply pop, half a milisecond later do the flick, for me that feels so much better and controllable tbh.

Funny how what you are all saying is almost identical to the Day 1 release of XL vid comments on this channel. Remember the 2 years extra Cea-ture took as both games began development in 2016 not 2018, that was just the 1st preview build so 8 yrs not 6 and it was a good thing they did take longer to me 100%, no hate at all, I like Session and XL not one or the other. Still, literally on "Skater XL 1st Impressions" on this channel people were saying the same thing about Skate 3 vs XL that you are. Why people compare Session and XL is beyond me, because of kinda similar controls? I do not feel either are close to one another and Modded Xl is another world compared to just "XL". I bet you, as mods are developed for Session, the same issues will occur when features only available to Session PC users becomes popular, for example a way to add custom animations, that is possible or change the inputs to be the same as XL as far as how the sticks are used ( That would have XL PC players swap en-masse). Also XL says it "is the evolution of skateboarding gameplay", not "sim" and compared to Skate 3 it is exactly what it says, an evolution from legacy controls and feeling far more like actual Skating but it is not and never was a Sim. Session should be harder because it is a sim and Skating is difficult. Seems kinda obvious they are not even in competion except in comment sections.. To compare Session to XL is like comparing any Sekiro to Elden Ring.. It makes no sense. XL is older and devolped for Xbox one and PS4. Session is new and designed for all consoles. Call me crazy or a hater but I fel I am just being real when I say, you WILL have Nacon or Crea-ture do something that will be the opposite of what players want, it happens in every game. Go and look at the people saying Easy day are THE BEST in 2020 and at the time they were, so give Crea-ture 2 years of managing the game before you compare them? just food for thought.. Why you can't enjoy both is really on you not anyone else. Except for Playstation players, they had nothing but Vanilla XL and Vanilla XL is not great NOW, it was amazing on release, kinda like Session.. It is easy to be better when you have others mistakes to help you...

Treflips in the Kickstarter demo were absolutely beautiful I think they were mocapped then they scrapped it unfortunately

It's really nice to see the comparison, the game has come a long way. But thee are still a lot of bugs to figure out it seems. I like the 1.0 so far though!
