I prefered to see Poland hanging on there until nearly the end, that created a lot of tension, everytime waiting for Poland to be called, a constant crescendo!
Так, якби тоді система голосувань була б такою, як зараз, інтрига була би до останнього. Останньою оголошували би Австралію, а не росію, де і так було ясно, що вона не набере 405 балів.
Apart from 2017 where the top few jury votes and televotes are fairly similar, every year there are those f**k the jury moments: 2016: Poland 2018: Italy and Denmark 2019: Norway and Iceland
Blanco SC Sort of, but unfortunately unlike the others I have mentioned, Ukraine didn’t have enough televoting points to get to the left side of the scoreboard
I honestly think it was horrible song.. my mind was baffled when I saw it how high it ranked in televoting, and for me it was a smoke break song when he was performing
+geminix365 People appreciated the real talent and just voted for the song! Millons of people decided so stop with sneering and put up with the results
MarkYannick yeah sure we Poles in Europe don't have a live and are just waiting to vote and show that we Poles are that kind people. You are dumb asf if u write something like that! Let your anger somewhere else out
+brittany watts As an austrian, I can assure you that there are very few poles here. We have lots of people with non-austrian heritage, but Poland is very far down in the list. By that logic, our votes should have gone to Hungary, or Croatia, or, more obviously, Germany.
This is still thrilling to watch, all these months later. Changing to this system for presenting the points has given much needed drama - with the side effect of highlighting juries who give *interesting* scores to certain other countries.
It's interesting indeed how most of the juries changed their voting patterns now that they knew they were being exposed. The Balkans barely voting for eachother, Norway giving nothing to Sweden, Armenia giving only 2 points to Russia, Greece giving only 8 points to Cyprus... Only Belarus and Azerbaijan seemed not to care and they kept doing what they do every year. I'm not a fan of Sergey's song at all, but given the fact that he got no less than 3 points by any country, we should go back to the 100% televote formula. Yes, there will be some predictable scorings, but in the end the televote winner has always won regardless of its neighbors and migrants.
I like the new voting system. The old voting system was boring, cause in the middle of the voting, we could understand which country is gonna win. But now jur votes and televotes are seperated and thats more excited for me. Until the last second nobody knows who is gonna win. This year was the most exciting competitions in recent years.
When Poland sent "Slavic Girls" 2 years ago in jury voting we were on a last place, in televoting on 5th place. Many people were arguing that jury didn`t gave us points because everything was more about boobies not about a song. This year we sent guy with a great voice, with a good song (not the best) and what? Last but one place in jury voting and 3rd in televoting!! I can only say WTF?!
I would like to see Michał's performance in the jury show (remember that jurors and people vote on different performqnces). Maybe he really messed it up then.
@@abc4607 actually he REALLY messed it up for the jury show (which really happened to be as well in the semifinal) so i guess thats why he had really low jury score
Ukraine only had an 81 point lead over Russia in the jury vote, it wasn't that bad all the juries were voting for Australia, so other countries weren't receiving that many points I think they might have told the juries to not do that after the 2017 contest idk Russia was 5th in the jury vote, which, if the jury points were split more like they were split in 2018, 2019 and 2021, probably would've been enough to win
+Alberto Meca The song was good but he didn't sings very well in live, 9th for public vote is good especially when you see that France finished 24 on 26 last year...
+Том и Джерри , да ладно, чего переживать то. Они с ума сходят, и думают как напакостить, а мы будем просто жить и заниматься своими делами. Главное доставило удовольствие выступление нашей страны, всем зрителям! А это - главная победа!
+Matej Bojić And we will go back, when Cyprus always gives 12 points to Greece, Moldova to Romania, Belarus to Russia, Montenegro to Serbia, Bosnia to Turkey, Turkey to Azerbaijan and so on. And the song doesnt matter, the neighbours are always in the TOP
+Alexey Evdokimenko This year, things have changed. Look at the televoting table at eurovision.tv, ex-Yu countries didn't gave each other points, example Montenegro gave 12 points to Malta. Sorry for my english...
@@vadympopov5278 ну, справедливости ради, они собственно ни кому кроме Швейцарии и Франции ничего особо и не дали. Многие дюжины к сладкой парочке ушли.
I understand that Michael wasn't the best there but he at least deserved 3rd or 4th place. The points that "Jury" gave to him where a joke,It was a great vocal. I would understand if he got placed in the middle in the jury voting...but last?! That was so unfair for Poland!
'As far as I am concerned Poland received points from 36 out of 41 countries. I know Polish diaspora is strong in UK, but that’s all. They are not strong enough to overvote 36 nations, be serious…'
Yeah we have a lot of Polish in the UK, probably why Poland is so high which I find kind of unfair. Whatever, its not our money we're wasting on a massive venue.
@@ola14771 i was mad at jury then but i have to admit, i was happy, they appreaciated Sweden this year and Austria last year. Is it too late for love & Nobody but you
No. Like I can't agree with their points all the time BUT I don't agree with televote too. Like here, I agree with jury about France, Italy,Bulgaria and many others but I don't agree with televote about Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and Russia (they're good but too overrated). And I don't agree about Poland and Serbia (both needed more points). Overall I agree with both, but they shouldn't be removed as shouldn't be removed televoting. They work really great together!
YES THE THIRD PLACE OF TLEVOTING BECAME 8!!! How is it possible??? Last year you made it a winner!!! STOP JURIES!! AND ONCE MORE TELEVOTING WINNER IS NOT THE WINNER OF THE CONTEST!
But the repeated trend is that first on televote ends up third. Jury is only useful to overrate the most boring performances, man it seemed that those juries were wiwibloggs fans putting Australia as a winner by far
At least they must reduce their power... they destroy everything!! The winner must be from the televoting! It's not possible that 10 people have the same power as 10.000.000++
-Jon Ola Sand, has the televoting gone according to plan -No, we just lost all the votes for Czech Republic, but we can continue I guess that's what happened.
@@andrewwallchuck1407 he spoke facts. fans picked Russia as a winner. Juries thought the different way. who are juries. some worldwide recognized legends, who have the right to judge? only people can decide, who's better.
I really enjoyed the Polish song, was in my personal top ten that year (my personal winner was Jamala because that song was just musically so impressive and and she has an insanely good voice, so happy she won!). But the juries were right - the Polish song is enjoyable and pleasant and I still like it, but it's not a good song. It's not surprising at all that juries weren't impressed by it and you can't fault them for that. I think it's a good system - it's a song contest, after all, not a "which song do people like the most" contest. The way the system is set up, usually neither the best nor the most popular song wins, but a song wins that is both good and popular. I'm not always happy with the result, but it's a well thought-out system that guarantees that the songs in the top spots all have some sort of qualitative merit to them AND have some sort of public support. You can't get in the top three if one of these is missing.
The jury chose Australia, people in Europe Russia, and Ukraine won?=))))))))))))))))))LOL Remove the jury, let the people vote only, then your vote is objective and not politicized!!! Music and song must evaluate the people and not the jury!!!
+Вячеслав Орион It really is ridiculous now... I feel like the public's vote is just an afterthought now since the number 1 choice for the public was not the eventual winner... it means either the jury have completely different perceptions of what good music is... or their votes are based on something other than the songs which is supposedly not what Eurovision is about and either way it's simply not fair. Jury's should be done away with and 100% of the voting should come from the public as currently... many will feel discouraged from voting due to the fact that only a handful of people can completely change it. Also... this new voting results is bullshit... we basically wasted an hour on only half the vote which came only from the Jurys and then the last 5 minutes everything drastically changed... it should go back to the way it was and 8-10-12 should be brought back.
The juries have shown they have no place in voting...what a disgrace. 7 points from the useless juries for Polands entry which is one of the most beautiful songs that has ever been entered in the contest. ..Poland should have rightly won if it had the appropriate support from the juries....they have shown they have no idea what they are doing. ..Poland was the real winner for me that year!!!! That performance gave me goosebumps on my goosebumps!!!
It's ridiculous - song that is popular in so many countries gets 7 points from jury - it shows that jury must be eliminated from this contest - it's corrupted and not true - this difference is not possible if there isn't any corruption and "settled" voiting.
I'm sorry, but the polish result shows how ridiculous the televote is and how innately politicised is. The jury vote is fairer and more impartial... I had a big Eurovision party in Ireland, with mainly Irish and German people in attendance. We all thought the Polish guy was truly terrible, and we would never have voted for him. The only people giving him ten points in Ireland or Germany were Polish people living there, as there is a large population of Polish nationals in these countries. It does not reflect our tastes at all, so for that reason the televote should have less significance overall I believe. It's the reason countries without "friendly neighbours" or countries without a prominent diaspora have an automatic handicap. Ukraine a worthy winner.
These were my favorites songs before the festival: Poland - Spain - Russia - Australia- Nederlands - Italy. They sing real music, beautiful music, pop music. ¡Viva la música!
Niklas Kusber To begin with, this is plagiarism of the Russian song “Zelenoglazoe taxi” by Mikhail Boyarsky. Also this song is very outdated in its sound and quite typical.
Planet Earth I just listened to Zelenoglazoe Taxi and there’s 0 plagiarism, it’s not even what we can call a sample. Also, I respect your opinion but out of all songs of that year, it’s literally the less horrible. From where i am in Europe, no songs sound like that so to us (or to me in this case) it sounds very interesting
lia loves you For some people this song may seem unusual, because this kind of music was in the last century, in our times the sound of modern songs is completely different, but music does not progress on Eurovision, so few songs of this contest really meet modern standards and become hits
Where is the justice if Poland gets only 7 points from 200 random people from the jury but is on the 3rd place by voting by millions of people across the Europe? It's really unfair towards Poland i think. The precentage shouldn't be 50/50 in my opinion, people should be the once that chose not some random people from the industry that we don't even know who the hell are they. Especially that they're not the once that spend money for the voting. A big disappointment on Eurovision in that point. Well done to the Ukraine and Australia though. And thank you to all the people that voted for Michał Szpak.
I only watch this video to see Poland's joyful moment. Those out-of-touch juries really showed how clueless they were here! (by the way... I'm Italian myself)
Any winner would break the record as there is no record.... You can't put these numbers with the older ones, you'd have to divide it by two(as the system prior to 2016 was a 50/50 split between juries and televotes, whereas here it is a 100% of both so they get double the amount) and then see what you got. Jamala would've gotten 267 points and that would only give her a shared 12th place. Basically, she didn't get /that/ many votes. She wasn't the favorite of either the people or the jury either, she has the system to thank for winning lmao.
My top 3: 1. BULGARIA - My favourite ESC song of all time! The song, voice and dance is perfect! Poli is fantastic! 2. Poland - the most underrated song by jury ever, amazing voice! 3. Russia - very good song and staging!
Poli Genova's humble and true reaction is great. She seems really happy as she sees Bulgaria climbing up the scoreboard and then when Ukraine wins. Unlike the French guy or the Armenian girl, they couldn't hide their disappointment
+Soccer Is Life That was sad af. She wasn't my fav but liked it still. To hear that she got 0 points and this "ohhhh" in the audience was heartbreaking :(
I watch this video every year. Poland was the greatest that year, shame for the jury. Glad that Duncan won this year, but also the same thing hapen to Norway this year..people loved it, juries didnt.
@@bonucci74 Russia absolutely shouldn’t have won. Aweful song with a terrible performer who cannot sing to save his life. They only won the public vote because of the special effects and good looking singer. State sponsored PR aimed at distracting Europe from the governments authoritarian behaviour towards both the Russian and Ukrainian people. And now they’ll never win ever again 🥰
Last year Italy was the publics winner but they were screwed over by the juries. This year Russia was the publics winner but they were screwed over by the juries. So unfair on the public who are spending their own money to vote! Something needs to be done about this!
You know, even if your country didn't win tonight, you can't deny how tense these televotes got to be. Good job Sweden for making me shake nervously while I awaited the winner, was a really fun voting process!
Not really. People liked Russia best, but because of the jury, Ukriane won. So the majority of voters did in fact not vote for Ukraine to win, and therefore people were upset.
I am from Poland. I love watching televoting and enjoy every point, but what what organizators have done for me was so disappointing. I wanted to see how people liked our song not how jury did. I don't understand why jury didn't appreciate Michał voice, because he has got one of the best vocal, what Hozier can confirm. Never mind, but who s most important nations or unproffesional jury? Remember everyone send message and wanted to see how other people in his county vote and you destroyed it. How dare you! I'm so angry and sad simultaneously.
+Sebastian Śliwa Jury głosowanie było polityczne względem naszego kraju. Nie lubią nas. Dwa lata temu przy Donatanie i Cleo było to samo.5 miejsce w televotingu ostatnie w jury..
