When you find something that you weren't even looking for and then get lost because of it. A random recommendation in my feed and 6 episodes later back to back is dark and I have no idea of the time. Great adventure and superb storytelling.

Great adventure Beau. I did the trip solo in Dec 2017 starting at Port Washpool taking 7 days to Musselroe Bay battling a strong westerly storm that hit me on Day 4 near Whitemark - the winds lasted till I paddled to Davenport on Day 10 (I used a larger 1 sqm Flat Earth sail and the same plastic boat I used from a trip from Singapore to Australia so surfed the 1.5m swell in 30 knot winds rather than wait it out on the islands). For anyone contemplating a good long trip like this - these videos are an invaluable way to pick up planning, equipment and paddling tips. Having now done a few crossings & long trips in my time but only carrying a still camera - its great to see the videos as they bring back so many memories of the fantastic scenery so see from water level.

No idea if you'll ever read this, but I want to personally thank everyone involved for these incredible short films on the channel. I went to see the world after high school and worked wherever I was to achieve the dreams of seeing places and feeling alive - and came back just to completely drown in university and work and habits. Never have I sat down and let my experiences do their thing, never have I put them to paper. This channel and especially Episode 6 right here has done the trick in waking me up, getting me to document all the things I still remember about my travels, the friendships I formed. And it's got me to value the adventures again, driving out to the mountains, lakes, woods around me. I almost drowned in law and history and sociology and philosophy and I still attribute immense value to all those, but I've escaped from feeling numb and revisited the old train line - my old train line - that lead me to pure happiness all those months ago. Thank you.

What you do is challenge yourself challenge yourself challenge yourself and you have an amazing story to tell because of it. Beau, I've got to tell you something. About an hour and 35 minutes ago, your mile an hour video popped up on my feed. I watched it, and was immediately taken by your fresh perspective, inspirational manner of speaking and doing, and your philosophy. It really resonated with me. Then I watched your junk office video, and then now I'm sitting here finishing up your bass kayak expedition, and I feel like I was a part of the ride. What you did here was truly special. You brought strangers together, and formed a lifelong connection over something that will always be remembered and talked about. Something that millions of people live without, but yearn for. You seem like someone I could talk to for hours, and never stop listening. Because I always want to learn more. I've now told four other people about you, because I truly hope more people take the time to watch this series. It's so much more than a couple of guys doing something momentous, and in fact isn't really about the kayaking at all. There's such a journey that takes place here, and it's one that surely served to be documented. Thank you for sharing this with us. I also hope the best for your friend Tim. As someone who's been with family in that situation, I hope for the best. I've now subscribed, and will probably spend some time watching your other content. And I had things to do today damnit!

Absolutely. I traveled to the high desert of Nevada to donate a Kawasaki Mule 1000 to a non profit horse rescue named Medicine Horse Project, where its a proven fact that horses are good Medicine. 1st I've not been much past Colorado, let alone a desert. So to say excitement and fear road on each other's shoulders was dam straight. My mechanic checked over my F-150 Ford from '92, she's got a weak cylinder but she'll make it I'm told. Well all through the trip I had second thoughts. I finally arrive but the bountiful of territory i covered was just gorgeous it truly cleansed my soul. So this horse Bravehart teaches me the value of trust, from a horse I say!! I learned that breathing in the nose of horse one communicates their wellbeing. Maybe like a dog in its mannerisms. As Bravehart taught me trust through touch I wept and hard. During my release the horse put his head on mine and purred a means to comfort me. Never had i ever had an experience! Truly rewarding, well it changed my whole outlook to life especially with this Covid-19 thing, loss of my massage biz everything. I change in course a new adventure 😁. I'm loving your channel

The way you speak about life and reality in this series is so far fetched to us almost because these are living times of times that are so imaginary to us, the audience that its pretty much a fairy tale or the land of dreams if you will but its so real... Its beautiful what you educate to us and it really makes me understand that the world you live in is the world that yourself makes it and it really can be a beautiful place.

I rode a bicycle across the USA, west to east, in 2008. 6,800 KMs over 80 days. The last day riding was incredibly bitter sweet and there was a sense of immense sadness that it was over. After I came back to Australia I was in a weird space for the next six months. It took me that long to process properly what I had achieved. And to accept my return to normality. Well, that was a very nice series. Its nice to see you guys interact and have a more or less good time togehter. I can see the appeal of that. I do some underground /old mine expeditions with my climbing budys now and then. The mines are nice and interesting to look at and the feeling of beeing in places nobody has walked on in 100 years i incredible. But in the end its always about the experience of doing this together. The storys we got out of this make us laugth and talk even if we meet sometimes only once a year. Its all back in an instant. "Do you remember this or that"... "Yeah that was awesome, scary, etc,..." You cant get this kind of friendsmanship from having a drink togther in a bar.

This is the inspiration I needed. This is a prime example of Storytelling because it tells the truth, the friendships, emotions, fun and painful parts of adventures. Absolut Masterpiece is this. Well Done!

Really enjoyed your adventure Beau, I live down by the prom and its a magical place to have started your journey, and to see it shared with others who share the same passion is is a wonder us thing. I couldn't imagine doing it on your own with no one to share it with, it made me think of Andrew McAuley and how lonely and tragic it can be. Great vids.

Beau, clicking on episode 1 I had no expectations or real interest in kayaking. Now 1 hour and 6 episodes later I just want to say thanks. Real corker of a movie. Interesting, beautiful and funny. You have a real skill for editing and story telling. Thank you so much for your movies

THE END ! the worst thing you can see when an enthralling series comes to a close. Chapeau, kudos and all such accolades for capturing such a brilliant adventure. Many more in store I hope Beau ? Not forgetting the guys who became friends and shared the adventure. Here's to them too.

Just chanced upon Bass by Kayak Episode 1 and then couldn't stop until I'd watched the lot. Over the years I've paddled a little around Corner Inlet and Mallacoota, but living in NE Victoria, sea kayaking was never a viable full on recreational option for me. However I've always wondered what the crossing to Tassie would be like and your expedition with the guys has just shown me how awesome it can be. Thanks for that Beau.

This series was absolutely brilliant and this is coming from a guy who has absolutely no interest in kayaking, not because I tried it and didn't like it but just because I've not been exposed to it at all. What a journey and I love how you explain throughout how you and Matt live relatively normal lives with an office and a home and a wife and all that stuff. It just shows how you don't need to have a crazy, living out of my backpack for months and months travellers lifestyle to have cool, explorative and challenging experiences. Super cool and super inspiring to go explore

Now why didn't I think of kayaking for my thesis? Instead of paddling, I spent my time dodging Serbs and Croats bent on killing each other while I was trying to dig up information on another war when people were bent on killing each other 50 years earlier. Speaking of that separation from land you mentioned in a kayak, given enough time, it will lure you into sailing. I found kayaking to be a gateway activity to stronger stuff. Wonderful series you managed.
