I still have trouble seeing how antinatalism is possible from an evolutionary perspective. Not a genetic survival but a memetic survival of the ideas in brains. Sociological propagation of such a negative view seems impossible to me, since it destroys motivation and thus its own propagation.

This is actually an interesting point. I myself am antinatalist but if we were all to vow to not bring further progeny into being, would the current people on earth have any motivation to uphold and also and innovate the structure of society if we are the last inhabitants on earth? Part of society getting better is at the prospect of oncoming generations further down the line and maybe if the view of Antinatalism was adopted, immense suffering would ensue in the short term because there aren't enough ready minds in light of eventual extinction that will take on the burden of running society.

@@mckleynhans04"Part of society getting better..."? You're missing the point that society isn't getting better (just look at Humanity and what we're doing to ourselves, the planet and all our fellow Earthlings), and you're ignoring the 'Is it right to subject countless millions to further suffering in the hope that one day life, for everything and everybody, will be perfect - which it will never be.

Maybe because you're looking at it as a 'negative'? Look at it from the positive: It's a philosophical viewpoint that proposes an end to all suffering - which is a good thing, is it not?
