@@misko3092kinda, I felt bad for her. She going through a lot of stuff, got loads of insecurity and attention-seeking. She was fine at first, but got changed downhill in season 2. She kept hooking up with her best friend's boyfriend knowing how bad of a guy he is. He was an abusive typed. It was crazy. At the end of the day, she was in the wrong through and through.
The silence that followed plus Maddy's expression of "This fool.." showed how oblivious she is to the situation and thinking she really said something when it was, in fact, a whole lot a nothing and got checked for it.
She didn’t believe the drug4ddict over cassie, she conected the dots, cassie acting sus, the party when cassie and nate fked, also maddie is cassie’s best friend she KNOWS when she is lying
Tbh rue has never really lied to them unless it had to do with drugs. Like when they asked her that they thought she was clean. But lied and said she was just doing weed-
Yes fr. When Cassie was crying looking at nate on the strecther after fezco beats him up you can see Maddie look at Cassie bawling her eyes out. She could tell there was more emotion there than there should have been.
Because Maddy isn't stupid...and she knows rue may be a drug addict but she's not a liar.. All of Cassie weird behavior started to make sense so it was the final clue
all cassie had to do was shutup and they would have not found out then and there now a 99% chance they were gonna find out cuz everything comes to light
@@dawniebug784 in a less drama situation then it would be good advice but if it coming from a person that is trying to make herself look good then i would not belive it
@@dawniebug784 Cassie was just being a fake b*tch, role-playing a little angel when she's actually a massive, filthy hypocrite. She said that "advice" to look good, not for Rue's own good.
Its funny cause she looks around in approval of her advice to Rue and the sweetness and goodness of her heart until Rue exposes her and she turns on Rue for being a drug addict 👩🦯
It’s like she’s telling her “A little cliche, but it’s the thought that counts” Then comes Rue with the bombshell and *all* that good will goes out the window.
Maddy was more upset about Cassie betraying her, then she was about Nate being taken away from her. "I would have never done this to you" "you owe me an explanation" "was it worth it?" those lines broke me
@@AV_AD_BP_TNShe did feel betrayed. Rue herself in her narration tells us that Maddy was not only angry but also depressed, because all the times Cassie had comforted her or been there for her were just lies.
In this scene, you can tell how two-faced cassie is, and how distant everyone else is from rue. Although Maddy and Rue aren’t really shown together a lot, she’s the only one that gives rue a full, genuine hug. She hugged her with so much love even though rue was sweaty, stinky, and in the middle of withdrawal.
Cassie isn’t two faced for this… you realized that just because Rue was going through withdrawals, she decided to just dry snitch on Cassie just to make her feel like shit and take attention off of her.
@@kacileigh6112 never even seen this show, but I can see just from this clip that Cassie is two-faced. Yes, Rue totally snitched, but Cassie went from “you take it one day at a time” and ‘we’re here for you’ to “why do you listen to her, she’s a drug addict” in a hot second when things aren’t going her way.
@@nicoleheartscheer that’s because of what Rue did. Eye for an eye. And Rue was known to lie because of her drug addiction anyway and Cassie probably was scripted to understand that Maddie without hesitation believes someone who has been caught multiple time lying and stealing because of her illness instead of her best friend since elementary, right off the bat regardless of whether Cassie was lying or not. ( Not like she did anything wrong to begin with) Rue was the two faced one in this because all because she wanted to get into the medicine cabinet threw Cassie under the bus. You should probably watch the show and get a feel for the characters. It’s a pretty good one
@@kacileigh6112 maybe because maddy had already had suspicions, in the car scene in the beginning when they were taking nate to the hospital she looked into the little mirror and looked back at Cassie with Nate and she knew Cassie didn’t really like him. I’d be suspicious if one day my best friend since elementary was suddenly sobbing and looking worried for my ex boyfriend when she had claimed she didn’t like him at all. Cassie is two faced as fuck from what I’ve seen in the entire show.
She tried to pull the, "she's obviously lying to get attention off of her" which she was trying to do but everyone knew it was the truth bc like you said, Rue is the most uncensored person 😂 But I feel like no one thinks about the fact that she had just found out earlier that her own girlfriend and new friend were going behind her back. I personally feel like Rue was annoyed by the fact that she knew Cassie was doing the same to Maddy but trying to play 'angel' like Julez had done. But no one else sees it like that 🥹😔
That's very true. I have a friend who's a drug addict and he nonchalantly spread people's secrets to other people while I hung out with him. Like when one of our friends found out she was HIV positive. It was really messed up. My cousin was like that too so whenever he came over I'd watch what I told him because I've seen him throwing people under the bus when he needed as well
Drug addicts are known for beingassive liars because duh, they have to hide their addiction and lie to their loved ones about it. Most of them even steal from their loved ones. - someone whos christmas/birthday money was stolen for drugs by my brother
Idk why but Rue's face when she slowly turns away after Cassie says, "I don't know why you're believing her she's a drug addict". Is giving, "Bitch I'm in pain, my mom already knows I'm a massive addict, what else am I finna lie about? Go off I guess".
The reason she said something was to get attention off of her when her mother was trying to help her. She clearly tried to benefit from starting drama she could have been lying because that's what addicts do
Maddie's intuition is always on point. She knew something was up when Cassie started dressing like her.. The second Rue outed her everything started making perfect sense
Lol true but I thought she picked up cause Cassie was literally sweating n stuttering n her face got red n ready to cry lol cause I mean she tried to lie but lol I just love this scene everything was like a cartoon
i love how she calls her a drug addict and then when maddy asks rue “when was this” cassies face is like “rue please dont say anything else” expecting rue to just change everything after what she just said
Well rue would have said anything to fuil the fire she wanted attention off of her because she didn't want to go to rehab she would have lied about anything to get out of it
@@ejwennerstrom8299 yeah but it was obvious she wasnt and when she already knew that she blatantly goes “i dont know why you believe her shes a drug addict” right after talking about coping. If you’re talking about supporting someone to get better and then using that same thing against them its cruel and wrong. And lets not forget what she did to maddy and lexi 😭
@@ejwennerstrom8299 Cassie was banging Nate. And Rue saw Cassie run up to Nate's car and kiss him a few weeks prior to that and she was high on weed after leaving Elliot's house. Did you not watch the show?
i just realized how important it is that she asked how long it had been happening. she cared more about how long her friend kept a secret from her than the fact that it was true. she was more upset she was mislead by her best friend than she was upset that cassie banged him
THIS COMMENT RIGHT HERE. Cassie and Maddy were supposed to be each other’s soulmates and because Cassie didn’t tell Maddy the truth regardless of how bad it was… I think that hurt Maddy more than the fact she was fucking her ex. She knew Nate was crazy and you can see the progression of Maddy having a foot out the door regarding Nate and his promises, which is what makes me believe it was Cassie who broke Maddy’s heart in the long run - not Nate.
Even though this show is teen drama trash I stand by it as one of the best shows I've ever seen because every character's psychology is 100% consistent in every scene.
Yep bc later in the series maddy told Cassie how manipulative his is by telling her what nate was saying to maddy for year's “I'm in love with you, your the only women I want to marry, have my babies”, even though Maddie exposed him Cassie still didn't care and stuck beside him. She cares more about her friend being hurt in the long run bc she knows Cassie would do anything for male validation so she is a perfect puppet for nate🥹
@@krystalmcc5658 it’s so heartbreaking because Maddy is and always will be a bad b*tch. So the fact that Nate of all people made her doubt herself, question her sanity and SCARED her (gun to her head)… I think that made her worried for Cassie even more. Worried Cassie would accept a DV relationship and actually play the part as intended unlike Maddy. I think as much as she’s pissed at Cassie for lying and going behind her back, I think she’s terrified her best friend is going to end up dead before they have a chance to fix things and she’s going to blame herself due to survivors guilt.
Maddy and cass were best friends, Maddy can see right through her. She saw how she reacted to the beans being spilt and she knew it was the truth. That’s why she believed Rue
Also, what reason does rue have to lie like that? It wasn’t an accusation, it was a solid fact, rues not one to cause drama and spread rumors so if she’s saying something it must be true
Not going lie but cassie is so wrong for saying “ I don’t know why you’re believing her , shes a drug addict “ Edit : y’all are getting so pressed💀 but what I meant by Cassie is wrong for saying that is because earlier she was sorta comforting rue saying “ just take it one day at it time “ but then after she gets exposed she turns her back against rue and blames her and her drug problems ( “ she’s a drug addict “ ) right after she told rue it’s okay
@@coutureclique3341 LITERALLY LIKE BROO!!!!she was being such a horrible friend like she was telling her like take it a day at a time and then saying “ she’s a drug addict “ implying that it’s her fault-
@@Comoquesoybambi it kinda shows why Kat said she never trusted Cassie because she looks like the type of friend who would sleep with your boyfriend, also why Rue would open her mouth, paired with the facts that Maddy is obvi really close to her and that Rue needed to escape
As a former heroin addict...she definitely did lol. Honestly the episode where she runs from the police & runs into traffic is something I did once. It was a weird episode for me but brilliantly done. Can't wait for next season.
I haven't even watched the show by itself but Maddy and Rue feel like better friends than any other duo or group imo. Maddy understood the effect that Rue's addiction had on her life and never judged her once- that's a ride-or-die whether they eat lunch together or not.
As someone who has had substance abuse issues in the past, the way Zendaya was able to portray what it's like to go through severe withdrawal was absolutely spot-on.. She really is an amazing acctress and I'm glad she got the credit she deserved for this role! - they all did a great job.
I love how Maddy goes from yelling: “JUST BE FUCKING HONEST BITCH” To then a soft tone: “Rue how long?” She genuinely cares for her friends, that she can’t even yell at Rue when is pissed tf off. This shows Cassandra betraying her is really what broke her heart.
My favorite part was when she’s outside the bathroom door and telling Cassie this isn’t abt Nate this is abt them and their friendship. How friends don’t do this to each other.
Bull crap she deserved maddy is fake awule horobol bad friend and rue is a idote awule horobol bad person to she was never a good person end friend that's why a hope in season 3 they bove dies
The scene where Cassie says, “Just take it one day at a time.😇” makes my blood boil! Everyone else is so heartbroken and sad about Rue’s drug abuse and she just says something that makes her sound nice and looks around for approval! Like girl. THIS 👏IS 👏 NOT 👏 ABOUT 👏 YOU 👏
@@misko3092 I don’t think so. I think she’s just a teenage girl who so desperately wants to be loved by a boy that she doesn’t realize that the love of her friends is just as important
That's just letting you know how bad of a friend someone can really be! They will tell on you but they won't tell on themselves what's going on! That's a stab in the back there! Feel bad for Rue!
It’s the fact that Cassie had to look around for validation after telling rue to “take it one day at a time,” says a lot about her character. Cassie knows she’s been doing bad things so In order to make herself feel better she need recognition for doing something good. Ever heard the phrase “ if you climb up a tree and pick ten apples, then climb back down from the tree and tell everyone how many apples you’ve picked, you didn’t really pick any apples at all. Cassie’s positive comment to rue didn’t come out the goodness of her heart, or else why would she need validation from others. It’s also strange how Maddie believed rue over Cassie. Cassie and Maddie are obviously closer so it would be odd to have Maddie believe rue over Cassie. She could have suspected this before rue said anything, but it doesn’t help That Cassie is crying and avoiding eye contact with Maddy and then turning the tables and saying “ I don’t know why your believing her she’s a drug addict.” We’ve got to see how Maddie has grown up. How she idolizes the women her mom kneels before. I am 100% positive that Maddie knows when someone is lying. That’s her personality. sharp, brutally honest, confident. She doesn’t like to be lied to because she has no reason to be lied to, especially by her best friend and her boyfriend. Unlike Cassie, Maddie doesn’t throw other under the bus, that’s not what she does. Cassie was just digging her grave even deeper when she tried to make everyone believe her by making the other person (rue) look bad (don’t believe her bc she’s a drug addict.) But when we see Cassie protecting her dad it’s different, right? Because Cassie loves her dad and not rue right? Cassie’s dad is a drug addict, but she would never tell on him for coming in the middle of the night to steal pots and pans right? This is a perfect example of how Cassie can be selfish at times. She will protect those if there is something good coming out of it for her. For her dad, if she protected him he will stay. For rue, when she told on her others would believe her, but they didn’t. Lexi snaps at Cassie for being so egotistical about her looks. All her life everyone has told Cassie how beautiful she is. Lexi didn’t get the same attention so like others she had to learn how to make something of herself. She doesn’t understand how Cassie can be so arrogant when she already has enough attention. In lexis mind Cassie should be grateful. Cassie’s gotten a lot of attention so being under somebody’s shadow ( likes maddies) can be hard for someone like Cassie. That’s why Cassie decided to go swimming during Maddies birthday party. She couldn’t handle the fact that Nate was there for Maddie not her. So what does she do? Try’s to steal the attention from her best friend because she’s jealous. I mean what did she really think was gonna happen. She was just gonna stay with Nate and Maddie would find out but be cool with it and they’d all be friends at the end of the day. No. Stop trying to justify your own mistakes. She’s told Nate that Maddie and him are not good together , and that she’s Maddie’s best friend and doesn’t want her to get hurt. Hurt by Nate. But she’s actually hurting Maddie herself, but again that doesn’t matter bc Cassie is getting something good out of this conflict. Attention from a boy. It doesn’t matter if she hurts Maddie but it DOES matter if nate hurts Maddie. Now rue didn’t have to tell Maddie about Cassie and nate and at the time she was not telling Maddie out of the goodness of her heart. She was telling Maddie to cause a distraction to get away from her mum that was coincidentally there. But Cassie does not have the right to try and break up Nate and Maddie. Cassie does not have a say so in their relationship. Cassie does not have a right to tell rue to take it one day at a time when she’s been doing bad things everyday to Maddie.
Maddy believed Rue more because of how quickly Cassie called Rue a Drug addict , she change from a soft caring person to throwing anyone and their flaws for some kind of protection.
I mean the sincerely, you all need to invest in better shows. Even when we're looking at the creator of this show, he just was in love with female suffering, like ask yourselves why are they teens? It's weird, they should at least be in college
Rue was wrong for not just going to Maddy. One on one. Disrespectful to Maddy. In my opinion. Rue just said it to get the focus off of her. Otherwise I don’t think she would of said a thing about it.
That's exactly why Rue brought it up. People were talking about how much Rue needed help with her addiction and at the time Rue didn't want that help. She knew about Cassie and Nate for a while and only brought it up when her addiction was being talked about. I doubt she would've brought it up otherwise, but at the same time, Maddy would've been even more pissed had the truth been hidden from her any longer.
Cassie’s been acting weird ever since the New Years Party distancing herself from her friends to be around Nate, then when asked and confronted about it, she’s shocked that someone else knew about her affair with her best friend’s ex. Out of all people to name that was in that room she singles out Cassie and Cassie only and not cause of the side comments cause they honestly all was
