Honestly, I'll be happy if NCR got rekt. You probably have guessed why. As for the nukes, I don't think it is the BOS, it is very likely that Ulyses have launched the nukes at them making Lonesome road canon.

if I remember correctly at the end of Honest Hearts you have the option to wipe the NCR off the map so I think Bethesda may have just canonised that ending!

​@@PapitoQinn Then I most likely mixed my memory with something else from the DLC, my apologies for the mistake. But it is still possible that the crater is caused by Ulyses. If you acquire a nuclear device, you will target cities and important infrastructure, what else would nuke? Sand dunes? The actual ending slide also mentions "Fell on NCR". It is very imprtant to mention that the Nuke Ulyses is using is a MERV war head and there was other smaller nukes in the ending slides showed as well. The smaller missles are based on a real missle currently in service by the US called the "Minutemen3", the ICBM is capable of carrying up to 3 nuclear war heads in a MERV configuration. The comically large ICBM behinde Ulyses apears to be a larger version of the normal ICBMs, I'm assuming the missle is also MERV capable. My guess is, Ulyses had access to few other silos plus the one we enter at the end of the DLC. The courier either dies or aid Ulyses in his mission. The result is, the huge ICBM and the smaller ones destroys most of the NCR, the guys we see in the trailer are the remenants of the NCR. Pretty dark but that is what I could think of all things considered. sorry for the long reply.

Well let me clarify my stance. I'm not arguing that this goes against lore. I'm just expressing my opinion that this would be taking it too far and too similar to Bethesda's east coast setting. If they wanted a story in a dilapidated wasteland than they could have used the east coast instead of transforming someone else's work to match yours. It's unnecessary at best. But maybe I'm wrong. The show isn't out yet. Also, Ulysses tells you what he targets. You can tell him that there aren't enough missiles to wipe out the NCR. He tells you that he will "bleed" it then. By targeting trade routes and outposts.

@@PapitoQinn Good point about the nukes. You are right about Bethesda, they prefer the typical wasteland instead of the future after the apocalypse that Obsidian/Interplay usually prefer. It would be a lot easier to just set their Fallout few years after the bombs, you get the wasteland they love and the setting will make a lot of sense. You can even set the serries where ever you want, even in the west coast and no one will complain since the events would take just few yeasr after the bombs and a lot would change in the 200 years.

Well while Bethesda signed off on things. You can rest assure that it wasn't their writers to wrote the screenplay.

There could be a million good lore reasons. Could that. Could that the Courier nuked the NCR with Ulysses, all lore accurate that he’s complaining about for some reason.

My complaint doesn't stem from it being lore-inaccurate though. I just think they might have taken it too far. Just my opinion.

@@PapitoQinn it’s been 14 years since NV if I recall, plus I think we are seeing an east coast chapter of the BoS being sent to bolster the failing West Coast chapter, I think there were terminal entries in Fo4 saying how the west coast is starting to revere Maxon, so they may be more willing to accept his reforms on letting in new recruits and directly getting involved with political struggles. Or this is all just a “Todd forgor” moment…

I only occasionally have that Invincible and, I dunno, Kemurikusa. And besides, the BoS are at least less tiresome than the numerous Raiders. Tandi's not gonna like this from her perch up in Heaven. Still a shame though. I'm actually an main NCR loyalist, no matter its flaws. Says something that I'm of that NV is slightly flawed by not having the chance for a Courier to suddenly become President and ruling it into a grandiose return to civilization. SJW hate is overrated. Just look at the previous games all the way to the very first title. Heck, there's also the Wasteland series of spiritual predecessors/worthy contemporaries... if one has a good reason to hate this show, it's when it gets bad writing not unlike Starfield and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Edit: Sorry for bad english The Brotherhod were never centerpiece to any of the game, in FO1 they were just another faction, in FO2 they were way behind other more advanced and bigger factions like the Enclave and the NCR and VB they were planned to be in a similar position to what they ended up being in NV. The only games in which the faction take such a big rol is in FO3 and FO4, the former even forces you be part of them if you want the good ending. Hell, they were even shoehorned into FO76. People don't expect things to be like in the NCR, they just don't expect it to be like in the East Coast. Before FO1 there were already clean settlements with police forces, casinos, banks, hospitals etc. In FO2 there even was a whole town dedicated to tourism and vices, there were cars, paved streets, hospital offering cybernetics enchancements, medicine, long distance trade, gold based currency, personal use robots etc. Originally, part of the charm of Fallout wasn't exploring a an apocalyptic world, it was exploring a POST-apocalyptic world, whith new societies, rules and socio-political landscapes I don't know what to say about the last point, the only thing I feel it could be pandering too is to newcomers to the franchise. Personally it doesn't bother me that Bethesda decided to take a new direction with Fallout, I can just ignore it, it is just that old Fallout fans are feeling more and more left behind, not only the new stuff doesn't appeal to them but now they are even destroying it? Now we only have mods and fan projects to look forward to. Also, I don't feel like the excuse "Is for the newcomers" that some people use is fair when they release a new game every 10 years. There is no reason to dumb it down, all they need to do is to make it easier to get into while remaining complex and interesting for veteran players that wish to have a deeper interaction with the game's mechanics. They removed turn based combat, traits, some skills (fair, some were redundant), perks (fo4 and 7), factions (brough back but badly done) and the later game had way worse roleplaying, choices and consecuences, writing, worldbuilding etc

It looked like the BoS Vertibird were lifting off from some sort of salt flats. But that's in Utah.

@@PapitoQinn following the NV timeline, whatever happens in honest hearts likely leaves the white legs destroyed, so only the 80s would rule Utah, and they don't seem like a match for the Brotherhood

@@Steppen_T Utah is a large State whoever controls Zion National Park could easily have no bearing on what's going on in the salt flats. Both are are in western part of the State but the salt flats are 350 miles north of Zion.

Some people have described it as "post post-apocalyptic". But yes, there have been progress. Specifically due to the sheer amount of time. However my concern stems from the possibility that this story is going to destroy that progress to tell a story within a world of complete regression. When I believe that was unnecessary.

Yeah, I guess they would go to them and people like Brian Fargo and Tim Cain were not consulted. And as we saw, it explains things like the abundance of T-60 power armor.

@@PapitoQinn another thing is I’m sure from a performance standpoint (acting, music, photography, etc) it will probably be very well made. But dialogue and story/lore consistency, both with the games and itself, is really the deciding factor here. To your point, I would add Leonard Boyarsky to that list, as Tim has credited him with creating the style and aesthetic of original Fallout.
