Hello, my dear loyalist brothers! My next sentence is a lie. My previous sentence is the truth.

I like to think that the cabal's prophecy was true and Alpharius made the utalitarian choice to join horus so that chaos would eventually lose. Meanwhile, Omegon secretly remained loyal to the emperor but knew that to oppose Alpharius would mean the destruction of the alpha legion and thus preventing him from stopping the heresy. So instead, Omegon spent the horus heresy undermining the traitor legion plans. It kind of makes sense as well: Alpharius kept instigating plan after plan that seemed to be killer blows, only to have them miraculously or barely stopped. If Omegon was secretly sabotaging Alpharius's plans, it would explain why they rarely had the effect they should have.

A theory: Remleiz is actually Alpharius

The Alpha Legion forced Remleiz to reupload. The previous video was actually Omegon in disguise.

My theories after MUCH research and thought: Alpharius's real name is Sigmar (because of the symbols on the skulls, alpha, omega, sigma) He was not a twin until the warp took half of his essence away into the warp with the other primarchs (hence the reason the "twins" are described as being one soul in two bodies - and why the Emperor didn't create a 21st legion, nor did he assign any of the forces of the redacted legions to this "extra" primarch. The XXth is one legion, intended for one primarch) One twin stayed with the emperor, as you say, and ran the Alpha Legion against "the enemy within" in the days of the ghost legion period. There were documented attempts to sabotage the genome project from the inside and many former enemies of the Unification that claimed fealty to the Emperor were actually still plotting his defeat. Omegon took care of this in the days before the Inquisition. The other twin's origin is, as you say, a mix of the many accounts. But I think he probably was found after being broken by the Slaugth and turned into a weapon of their own. Because of the very psychic damage the Slaugth caused, the emperor attempted to heal him, bringing the two brothers together again and implanting shared memories as seen in the novel, Serpent Beneath. Omegon and Sigmar were restored as much as possible and took a single name and identity, Alpharius, in homage to their Legion and the fact that they truly were one. With the crusade requiring the XXth to finally come to the light, Alpharius was stationed with Horus to prepare for the task of running a full legion. The Ghost Legion was finally brought up to full strength and formally designated "Alpha", a nod to their true past as the first among the legions. Yet the Effrit veterans of the Ghost Legion days would remain Omegon's for the most part. The "ghost legion" became the Effrit Stealth Squads. (Hence why the Effrit exist at all, why they are "Omegon's" force, and why they are mocked or joked about by other XXth). But Alpharius (both of them) had been out in the stars, he had seen things he kept secret to those outside his legion, and he was comfortable working with xenos. This is why they have such archaic technology such as tenebrae station, stealth fields and image projection tech even the mechanicum don't understand, and regularly use xenotech. Interestingly, the Emperor is reported as saying "Alpharius, what chance did you give my dream" when he hears of the heresy, perhaps meaning he is particularly saddened by his/their loss most of all. This gives further credit to your/my theory that one twin was on Terra after all, and lived beside the Emperor.

I don't know if we will ever know the real story, but I think what you put together is a very compeling and interesting narative that makes a lot of sense. I personaly would love for it to be real

New theory (which I'll be shocked if someone hasn't come up with before): There are no lost Primarchs. The two missing ones are two of the Alpha Legion's Primarchs, and the final Primarch is the THIRD Alpha Legion Primarch. Triplets, not twins, as indicated by the Legion iconography being a *three* headed Hydra. This also explains the rumours and theories that Alpharius is still alive despite being confirmed dead twice, and why there are three main stories for his origin (okay so there's a fourth, but I'm sure that can be worked around) Also I don't know if that triple skull symbol used in the video is from a canon source, but if so add that in and call the third one Sigma.

I suspect the last account is what happened to Omegon - he was left behind when the Primarchs were scattered. He would be raised by The Emperor and most likely Malcador as well.

plot twist, they weren't two primarches but actually one for each of those stories, but like most primarches, they all had issues with dying so the emperor just said there was only 1 alpharius, then another one showed up and he had to secret him away as omegon

I found something weird in the four origin stories, that is that there are 3 unique starts and 2 unique ends. A unique start would the ones the start from the pod ans unique would be reuniting with the Imperium. What if all were true but were incomplete, and the lie being that they were twins. Here is another possible story, Alpharius and Omegan 2 of a set triplets. The first triplet is the one that was wounded, but died under the care of the Emperor, this one would be Alpharius. The next would Omegan and he would rescued by the emperor. The third would be the one that had to survive by himself and captured an alien ship and then would go on to attack the Lunar Wolves. This would give credence to "I am Alpharius" and it would explain why the inquisitors cannot except the origin.

I like that last theory that Omegon is a secret loyalist and Alphaius a heretic! It would make the Alpha Legions being loyalist one minute and heretics the next a lot more understandable. When the Alpha Legion units acts like loyalist they'll be following Omegons commands and when they are acting like heretics they'll be following commands from Alphaius!

If there were only 20 gestation pods including the forgotten and purged, then the twins had to be sharing a pod. So wherever that pod went, the twins went together. Good story though.

What if two of the more detailed accounts involving known locations or events are actually the origins of the Lost Primarchs of the II and XI legions? The Emperor then used Alpharius as a cover if people were to say "oh yes one of the Primarchs came from [insert place]" as his and Omegon's may have been already split up into several different accounts. This would explain why "all accounts have a grain of truth" as they were all ture origins of a Primarch, just not Alpharius. I'm thinking that the Slorth and vs Horus ones are most likely in this regard, especially as the Slorth were stated to experiment on the Primarch they captured. If these experiments resulted in some kind of slow mutation into some kind of Slorth-Primarch hybrid, it would explain why the Primarch was "Purged" but not his gene sons who were thought to be absorbed by the Ultramarines. These transfer brothers (as Big E might call them) might also have had their progenoid glands removed and replaced with Ultramarine ones similar to the original Grey Knights are thought to have had theirs replaced with ones carrying the Emperor's genetic code. The one found by Horus just ran away to become a pirate again or something. He was then expunged from Imperial record because they were embarrassed by his flamboyant attitude and wearing of eye-liner (lets face it even before the Horus Heresy, the Imperium wasn't really accepting of alternative lifestyles). OK I admit this scenario is not as well thought out as the Slorth one but still, that one holds some merit surely?

Slaugth are awesome. They need to become a playable race. Imagine if they were HQ/Elite units that used a large amount of weapons designed to make enemies rot or turn into dust, whilst bundled with a bunch of Fast Attack/Troops/Heavy Support that are just dick/fungal/cyborg grown warriors of terror.

Alpharius and Omegon are both dead, but the triplet brother Rem a.k.a Sigma is alive.

It will turn out that Alpharius and Omegon never existed, and the 20th legion never had a primarch to begin with, sourcing their geneseed from the other primarchs. The Alpharius and Omegon we think are primarchs are actually just latent psykers that were highly conditioned to think they were primarchs. The whole thing is an ultradeep Tzeenchian psyop. When "Omegon" felt "Alpharius" die, it was just the cover for it.

I prefer the variant, in wich Alpharius never was stolen by the forces of chaos but remained on Terra, educated and trained by the Emperor, always in the Shadows...or at least one of them...

So I think that there is only one Alpha Primarch and the idea of twins was created to cause all of this uncertainty.

I guess my disconnect with most of these origin stories is what stage of development the primary were in when they were taken away. Were they infants when they landed? If so, then we have babies slaughtering large groups of people...?

Considering how similar in size and appearance Alpharius and Omegon are supposed to be to their own Space Marines, perhaps the entire reunification of theirs with the Imperium was the actual lie, rather than the many different accounts of how it happened: They are still out there somewhere, having forged a shadow empire of their own in a forgotten backwater of the galaxy, undiscovered and unremarked for ten millennia, while members of their legion manufactured the fake reunification using a particularly big Alpha Legion Space Marine as a stand-in. Preferably one with strong Psyker talents to mimic the presence of a Primarch to mortals, Space Marines and Primarchs "Alpharius" interacted with.
