The Farmall 400 Goes to the Field | In Memory of "Vern" Osborn. Farmall tractor plowing a field. Farmall 400 plowing a field. #farmallfanatic #farmall #farming
Nice that you put the in memory in the title. Owning these old tractors is as much about the old timers that had them before you did and the history they have as it is the fun in running them.
My father would be a-rollin in his box if he where to see your head lands. Couple of times you dropped it and picked up early. He use to ride me hard on git-r-right next time. Otherwise good job.
I was really hoping to see the 400 pull the 4 bottom plow but for some reason u can't fix the plow so u can hook it up but I will wait until you do boom
I can tell it’s a good one it looks good, sounds awesome and Judging by the way the 3 bottom didn’t even make it break a sweat it would handle 4 bottoms in just about any conditions and not breathe hard at all
You say a 400 has 5 more hp than super m I agree the farmall 300 has 2 more hp than a m farmall and has more wait plus ta yet they come pair it to a super H I don't get it boom
That 400 doesn’t even know that plow is back there!!! Tractor sounds great !!!! So smooth !!!! That 311 does a nice job !!!! Turned great furrows, covered very well, and broke the soil up very nicely !!! Disking will be a breeze come planting time !!!!
Loved seeing that 400 finally get some playtime. I love your SMTA but the 400 is a close second. I have a 400 narrow front with fast hitch that gets used daily for small jobs that I bought as a teenager. I also have an Oliver 77 narrow front too. These antique tractors make the best small utility tractors. Theres nothing more relaxing that listening to them hum along while raking hay.
Watching that plow work brought back memories of the smell of fresh turned soil. I still consider that the sweetest smell on God's green earth. Thanks for making my day a little better.
How about starting in the middle and dumping towards the middle of the field, which you are doing. Why turn the outside row in 1st when you will eventually get there anyway? And your deer trail cams were great of gimpy. Combine food plots with deer pics. It's all good. Kiskys and Drurys don't know red power!
Really doing a great job, 400 not even aware of the load. Being a little long in the tooth I'm a "H"" and "M " guy as this is what Dad owned on the farm. Love your content.
You sure got your moneys worth on that plow! It does a very nice job. What was you plowing in, looks like maybe 3rd? Scoured up nice, looks like he took care of the plow. 400 is running smooooth.
The front bottom is throwing a different furrow. I can’t see why. Is the front point or shear longer? Sometimes the pivot pin wears differently between bottoms. Or is it cutting too much? The plow looks like it could be made into a 4 bottom with the extended frame.
Great video, I have a 400 narrow front and just bought a 3-bottom 2pt fast hitch can’t wait to turn some ground under. Very impressed with how well you have the plow set!
Take a fine tractor like your 400. Which, by the way, I vote you keep and put it in the hands of a man Such as yourself who knows what he's doing. And the end result, beautiful job. Another outstanding example of why I need Coulters for my plow. Thank you very much for the video. It was extremely difficult for me to take my eyes off the screen. Thank you very much for your comments in my memorial video For my cousin Scott, your words lifted me up in my time of need. 🙂🙏🙂
That 400 was playing with that 3 bottom would of been nice to see that 4 bottom on it we had the exact same set only narrow front front wheel weights an frame weights was still a little light but handled it fine
I really enjoyed watching you get it done with the old 400 ! I was able to get 1 pass through the big garden before it started raining again and a week later I'm still waiting for it to dry out. If it wasn't for my no till garden I wouldn't have anything planted. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
My Grandpa had power steering put on his Super M after his heart attack. It was a welcome change but after some use it would progressively get more and more play in the steering. Eventually, he would have to have it picked up and fixed. Think it was a bushing or bearing..
That ground was turning great. You've got a great forecast ahead, so you should be done putting the seed in by Sat night. That 400 sounds like its good to go until 2056, right? You need to get one of those county side mowers for your overhanging trees and save the old back.
Cover boards really help to bury that grass. I always found they never completely shined up like the moldboards. I always found that the coulters made a straighter edge on the furrow and kept it clean for the tractor tire to ride in.
Neighbor had a 400 gas ! We had a 450 diesel, it started on gas it warmed up the diesel engine and switched it over to diesel it was our loader tractor, live pto ran the dual loader both were abused hard work constantly was maintained for winter time etc.
I've always enjoyed plowing. That was awesome. It was set right and looked great. Laid out real smooth. Just goes to show you were right about saving money and skipping the burn down. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Tractor sounds great. See you later.
400 sounds good.Nice job, appalling. You've got to set up real good enjoyed The ride. I was there.I'd be behind you with With my 1655 on my 5 bottom LO.L
