This is one of the best Motor Trend videos and one of the best American street videos I have see here. The filming, the Jay, and that heavenly rumble of that torque-tacular AMG was put together amazingly. Great job MT and staff!
it's so nice somebody figured out you don't have to put music over every damn car video, it's nice just to hear the sound of the engine once in a while.
When he said that he loves the C`ètait un Rendez-vous movie i thought OH MY GOD this is going to be awesome!!..... but no he just went to take a little drive in his SLS AMG and drove it like my grandma! Anyway..thanks Jay!
I moved from Seattle to Kentucky a couple years ago. I drive a 125 mile round trip commute every day on roads like the one here, except much prettier and no cops - or traffic. I got a Scion FR-S for the drive a while back and I live this drive every single day. I never tire of it.
They should make this a web series and travel the country or even the world and find the "race circuits" in the cities. NYC, Chicago, Miami, London, etc
Just spent this weekend driving one for the first time and it is unbelieavable! The sound is even more amazing inside the car, I didn't even remember that it had a radio! Very cool car
IMVFilms expresses GREAT THANKS to the Producers & Director for making this. Sincere thanks to JAY LENO for being the best spokesperson to drive & commentate on this "Racetrack in LA". This video embodies everything honest, realistic & just good wholesome fun when it comes to the Love people share for cars, driving & racing. All too often, the media & law enforcement portrayal of "street racing" oversteps common logic to the point of being asinine.
incredible sound.. usualy the american cars have the best V8 sound but this one is even better than everything else having a V8 engine. it's sooooooo brutal
Sweet ride, nice road... I took my SLK55 over a month ago on the same road, Mulholland drive. Super bumpy road if you are driving a car with sport suspension and low profile tires, I kept on trying to avoid the pot holes as I drove.
I like the concept of "a racetrack in every city." I live in the southeast. We've got a roadcourse right here in the rolling hills. We've got great hwy 60, leading into 129, over to the Blueridge Parkway, (you could even argue the Chereholla Skyway) up to the Tail of the Dragon...you just can't beat all that short of a real race track for driving a fine sports car or motorcycle. I love it, try that route and tell me I'm wrong! hehe, you can't. Have fun, and be safe doing it.
(continued)... time for every lawmaker, civilian, neighbor, doctor, lawyer, policeman & parent to realize that its NOT about over-scrutinizing & criminalizing "fast driving" or "racing" but rather driving within your limits, your cars limit, & having responsible FUN! KUDOS to people involved in this video. Everything here is just pure RIGHT!
@wideopen704 This is supposedly way cheaper than the slr. And if I am not mistaken less powerful, and if you ask me a little less epic. On the plus side no one can confuse this for any other type of benz. The SLR had occasional problems with that.
