The Fastest Bike in the World? Colnago V4RS First Look 

Declaring a bike to be the fastest in the world because Tadej Pogacar wins races on it would appear to be a classic case of correlation not necessarily implying causation 😉 Sweet looking bike, though! Thanks for the first look!

Given how well Tadej rode Paris-Nice, I'd say whatever bike he's on could easily be the fastest bike in the world.

To me, aero is king but wouldnt mind that polished red frameset! Great take on it David I´m considering buying the wheelset. They look fast with 25mm inner and 32mm outer, under 2800Eur....

In the white paper the 17w saving is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. That was against the v3rs with different (shallower) wheels and compared to a 2 piece bar and stem of the v3rs which the pros didn’t use. The saving for the frame itself is nearer 5w and then the enve wheels and CC01 bar account for the rest

Looks like an interesting shop! I can understand that that version of the Master was not popular as someone wanting a classic steel bike would not care about the carbon rear stays, which ruin the aesthetic. That V4RS looks very sharp in red!

Tadej Pogačar is the fastest bike racer in the world and if I put him on my 10 year old Cento 1 SL and I hopped on his V4RS, he’d still be miles faster than me and a majority of the population regardless of the 2% bump in performance that the “superior equipment” may give us. 99% of people don’t need a super bike, we just need to get better at riding bikes! Marketing departments work hard to make us believe otherwise

I'm going to be a bit nit picky, there's enough drag in that freehub to turn the crank. No matter though, great piece of performance art there. The bike that is.

You know, I like bikes and motorbikes...the thought that a bicycle cost almost the same, than for example a Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster or more than twice than two Royal Enfields it's nuts, the engineering on a bicycle it's ridiculously low compared to a combustion motor powered vehicle. For me 1000 it's the absolutely top I will expend on a bike.

How about more films on the older bikes - they were interesting. And you should have weighted the C60 - given it had a comparable group set and wheels, that would have been interesting....

My 2008 Team Raleigh with peddles and 2 bottle cage and Garmin mount with 60 mm Rims is 7.4 kg , The Colnago has 2 triangles, It looks like the bottom bracket aera is meant to flex on the Colnago as the bottom bracket aera is similar to my 2008 Raleigh . I say smoke and mirrors and marketing will take your hard earned cash, Its the fastest bike in the world because Tadej is riding it, It's not about the bike,

Are we at a stage where these bikes are really only for Pros? The latest iterations all look v similar. Why do you need this? The difference with the V3 Rs has to be marginal. I know Pog flew up the hills in Paris-Nice, but for him, the extra 500 gms might be critical in the Tour. For the average consumer would more work improving disc brakes be beneficial? I don't have discs but rode a disc bike when visiting a friend in the US and we had to spend 30 mins sorting out the screaming discs. Sticking piston was the issue but they seem pretty temperamental to me.

What would be the difference in performance between this bike and the C68?

I am sure if you put Pogacar on my 2 years old kid trike that’d be the fastest trike in the world. And will give a run for their money to a lot of bikes.

Fastest bike in the world? I think that has a lot more to do with the engine than the bike. Tadej Pogacar would be faster on a tricycle than I would be on a Colnaga.

As a non professional rider neither an amateur rider .. this bike will not be the fastest bike if I ride it joining a race.. stop hyping bike manufacturers.. new models bikes of course will be better to older bikes in terms of geometry and quality with modern technology of materias and more expensive... we all know that .. but this only benefits the Pros and Amateurs.. the cheapest bike can handle a rider like me and enjoy it not necessarily having the fastest or the most expensive bikes.. the best thing to tell riders like me is to get a bike that suits your riding styles and the right size and geometry for comfortable ride and to be able to learn the skills easily to be able head to advance riding skills in a shorter time possible so sooner or later if we decide to join races that's the time will need to have a better quality bike for a faster ride to aleast be a finisher in any kind of race ..
