Thank you for everything you are all doing to help us... You are all a credit to Science. And some sanity, which is sadly rare in 2020... Stay safe and well ❤️
Thank you Tim and team Zoe 👍☮️. I have been using and reporting daily since not long after the app started. I always check on the stats and shout at the media 😉because their stats differ from the COVID-19 app. Thank you so much for keeping us informed and for being proactive in the changes made to your app. I continue to support you all and the work that you are doing. I am proud to be part of the citizen research . 👍 thank you for the opportunity.
Thank you Professor Tim and Team Zoe, I have been using the app since March and I check figures everytime I report - your figures are more reliable than any pumped out by the government. Congratulations on your MBE from the Queen too.
Looking forward to having the reliable updates for the regions. Maybe the changes are why you have stopped asking about mask wearing and out door activity? Thank you to everyone for your work it is invaluable.
Thank you team Zoe & Tim. In a world of conflicting chaos you provide information we can trust & rely upon. I am sure you are all exhausted but please know that all you are doing is appreciated & relied upon by a great many people. Thank you.
Great job guys, great source of info to understand the immediate effect of policy changes. Are you planning on adding wearable data to your app at any point? I'm developing common cold detection algorithms from wearable cardiac data I collected in the past, would love to get involved in developing similar for covid. Your symptom and test data would be useful if it could be directly related to cardiac data
Hi Professor Tim, thank you for saying North of England, North West of..., North East of... etc. Really made it clear for me as a Scotland-dweller. Thank you for working so hard on our behalf.
Thank you for all your hard work. I’m personally concerned that people is south east and south west may incorrectly assume they do not have an increased R value. I keep hearing people at my place of work a Public Library say ‘oh we fine here it’s just up north there’s a problem” . People need to social distance, keep rooms well ventilated and wear masks properly in public indoor situations or the south east and West Country will be in the same boat as Liverpool
Thank you for continuing to provide an understandable, informative and useful report. I have stopped reading newspaper reporting as it is scaremongering. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to be useful by reporting and encouraging others to do the same, also for a sane point of reference.
Hi Prof Tim, I live on the Derby border and speaking of tests a company on Pride Park called sure dynostics has produced a 20 minute test for covid 19 and over 90% accurate but the NHS are not willing to purchase that costs £6 instead of paying over £12. The 20 minute test could will find the number of cases faster so people can isolate including going for treatment. To improve the Covid 19 App a good idea to ask people if they are taking vitamin D supplements including the level of vitamin D. The will find out if low level of vitamin d increase the level of covid symptoms and this could be added to the tracker.
Good morning Professor Spector and team. Thank you once again for all that you continue to do. My family member who I reported on last week has made a full recovery thankfully (except she still can’t smell anything). Keeping an eye out for anything “Long COVID” that might appear over the coming months. Looking forward to the new updates on the app and we continue to check in daily with so many other contributors. Keep “doing your thing” guys! 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Some months ago we answered questions on diet and I think on supplements. Has there been any conclusion as to whether diet or supplements can mitigate the effects of Covid.
I wear a mask when out.As wearing is caring. The only thing I want to spread is this app to other people. Thanks for your great work,to you all.The new changes sound excellent.!.
Thanks for keeping us updated. Can you not broadcast these briefings on TV. The scientific info is so much more helpful that the political spin we get from the Gov't
It is great to get information that I feel I can use to make my own judgements. Thankyou. I have been following the conversation around Vit D. Is there any information about whether or not Vit D supplementation is useful if you are not deficient in Vit D?
Thank you Tim, I advise as many people as possible about this brilliant resource & the app , good news about the ongoing updates to the app which is very much appreciated. This resource is my " go to" for any updates ref COVID19 as I am confident in the accuracy of the information above any other sources. Keep up the good work you are an exceptional team.
It’s Polio awareness day today. Did you know that survivors of polio suffer with after effects (and PPS) such as muscle weakness, fatigue, breathing problems, pain, swallowing which look similar to long COVID survivors. In the past some polio survivors used iron lungs now for COVID use ventilators. Is there any correlation between the 2 viruses? Love to hear from you.
Thank you Tim & team for the evidence based information. Have been checking in on the App since just after it was launched. I suffered from symptoms exactly the same as Covid 19 ones back in January/Feb this year. Fatigue, temperature and persistant cough. I had never experienced anything like this previously being fit and healthy. I just wondered if at any point you will be conducting antibody testing on those who think they may have had Covid19. Thanks for the good work.
I'm curious why you seem to have stopped collecting data other than "I'm (not) feeling OK" and test results. Do you have enough data, for example, on responders' activities outside home? As rules become stricter, it's helpful to understand the evidence underpinning bans on this, closures of that, curfews, etc.
Can I echo these positive comments. Why don't government ministers who squander billions of pounds of our money on useless test and trace schemes, and attempts to purchase PPE from shell companies set up by changers, promote this app?? Keep up the good work Tim et al.
I'm concerned that marketing emails for silk masks are been promoted to only female participants in your study. I gave out my information on the understanding that it was to be used exclusively for the symptom study and not marketing?
The new graph for cases in your area is great. When you tap to get choice of time period, only bottom axis of graph displays? This is on android samsung S6 with latest OS.
I'm sorry but this is rubbish and i have stopped using the app. The cases in my area on the app are quadruple the actual documented cases confirmed by a test so it allows people who think they are positive to log even though its not confirmed
Look forward to your updates each week . I have bedn sharing the app with as many people as I can . Will be great to get quicker data . Thank you for all your hard work and to Zoe too . Congratulations on your well deserved honour from the Queen too . 👏🙂
The failing of the reporting is that you ask if we are feeling OK. However, there are many reasons why we might not feel OK, that are not the result of covid 19. Rather than ask if we are OK, perhaps better to ask if we are experiencing 1,2 or more of the identified symptoms. List the known symptoms then ask the question, are you experiencing any of these symptoms? Ask us to say how many, if we are.
I don't mind this question - i think the whole point of the app is to look at any and all symptoms you may be experiencing if you're not feeling okay for any reason and then if you were to log a positive test at a later date, they'd look at those symptoms you reported in the run up to establish whether or not others are reporting it too meaning that it could be an earlier indicator. You know what feels "okay" for you
@@katiequinn6097 Understood, but i have not been entering anything as i assumed it meant Covid syptoms! Fortunately, at no time have i felt ill enough to report anything
Thank you for keeping us up to date, it has certainly made me feel more confident about knowing what is going on. I have, unfortunately, lost confidence in the governments data and am glad that you give a real view of what is happening. Again, thank you, Cathy
Thank you again for your regular clear and concise updates. Its a relief amongst the unintelligible biased media and inconsistent and incompetent government we have.
I see you're promiting a mask on your site Would you consider pairing up with the Cambridge Mask Company?. Their masks are, I understand, 99.6% antiviral. I am not a benefactor in ANY way, but it strikes me that it might be quite useful to wear an antiviral mask, as I believe these are. Just a thought. 😊
Anyone? Good epidemiological studies that show fomite transmission or Indeed efficacy of masks as worn by the public in public. Not from labs, but RL epidemiological evidence
The new data showing cases in my area is so helpful. It gives more clarity about what is actually going on. Keep up the amazing work. We depend on you.
Did you know that it appeared that the app was not working yesterday on iOS. Tried all day to report but just kept coming up with a white screen? I assume you will have lost a lot of data?
Perhaps if Covid returns in 14 years time a chap in the Outer Hebridies might consider possibly entertaining the thought, however fleeting, of actually beginning to cogitate on the possibility of actually physically wearing a mask. For at least five min's, before he goes out.
You've asked me to get a test .I have none of the 3 symptoms, said I was key worker, on gov. pilot as advised, but only pilot accepted is VISITING PROFESSIONAL pilot. If I say no, no test.Is this a glitch?
@@MB-hi1zq Guess it is a question of local demand and persevering, if one feels so inclined (I didn't). Zoe email advised trying soon after 8am and 5pm.
When a Government, can spend 10 billion on a useless Track & Trace system, ran by private companies , it so refreshing to listen to an experienced person, accustomed to dealing with horrid diseases. The NHS, has many such dedicated people, who work to keep us safe. Sadly Boris Johnson, isn't one of them.
Tim - why call them 'cases' when they are just positive test results? And isn't it important to out the number in context of how many are being tested?
