He missed using angry cops skit on the us soldier going over to north Korea. That would have been even funnier. South Korea just suspended a military pact with the north because of hamas. And oddly the USS Gerald Ford Aircraft carrier group is going to sit outside Israel.

@@dulmater in 1975 Sweden sold 1,000 Volvos to NK, even becoming the first country to establish an embassy in NK. To this day, NK has yet to pay Sweden back Which is weird because every other country knew that doing business with NK was a bad idea because they knew that NK couldn’t afford it

3:22 Adding to your anti-commie rant here, to me personally (and many others I bet) listening to tankies say their most ridiculous bullshit theories is insulting if not offensive because we people from the Eastern Bloc do not take such comments lightly due to being either oppressed or invaded by the USSR during it's existence. (In my case it'd be the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968). Thank you for chiming in about that, it gave me a little more hope in humanity. Many warm greetings from Czechia!

My old unit from California was there for this. I was in the 7th Infantry (light) at Ft Ord. They shut it down and my roommate went to Korea, I went to Texas. He was a lush and married before he went. Showed up in Texas, drunk and divorced. We had tried to switch but the army said no..

Longest war 2:30 technically was the third Punic war... From 149 bc to 1985 ad. Because of how destroyed Carthage was by the Romans there was no one really to sign a peace left so technically the war didn't end. In 1985 the mayor of Carthage and the mayor of Rome were informed of the technical ongoing war and signed a symbolic peace treaty.
@dulmater
@dulmater 8 месяцев назад
I don't think you can really count that. Rome conquered Carthage. No peace treaty was signed because the nation didn't exist anymore.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't just about the tree at that point. He doesn't really go into how the two Americans died, probably because it's horrific enough to drag down the fun of the overkill response the US had. Because it was horrific. The two guys ended up being left behind when everyone was trying to get away, either because they already thought they were dead or only realized they weren't with them after regrouping once the rest got away. They assumed they were dead at that point, but then they noticed the North Koreans were still hanging around there. There's a gully or something near where the tree was, and they saw the North Koreans going down one by one, and spending ten minutes or so down there before coming up and trading off with another. I think they saw them trading off the axe as well, which is what clued them in to what was happening. So hours after the whole attack happened, the Americans and South Koreans go back in, and find the two soldiers in the gully. I think one was already dead, but the other was still alive when they got there, and died shortly after. Yes, the North Koreans had been taking turns, one by one, for hours, going down to take an axe to the two soldiers. Which is why I would be just fine if they'd gone with the option of killing every North Korean soldier involved in this, and have zero problems with America telling North Korea that they were cutting the tree down, when North Korea decided to play stupid and oblivious. The higher ups wanted to make sure the message got across and was acknowledged, and good on them for doing so. On a more pleasant side note, Bulldog McFuckface almost certainly died during a later clash in the DMZ. He was last seen trying to charge on a hill that exploded, if I remember correctly. Dankula's got a great video on it, too, which is where I heard a lot of this. I love The Fat Electrician's videos, including this one, and this one is a much more enjoyable telling with all the good parts and not going into the more rage-inducing details, but those details can help for context for people who think America's response was overkill or provoking. It was proving a point, and sending a message, and refusing to let North Korea pretend they didn't get the message.

Honestly, I agreed with everything until that last thing where they radioed the NL command. The tree had to come down, and the show of force to prevent them from interfering, demonstrating the FAAFO factor so they didn't try shit while kind of crazy is understandable. Considering they already murdered a couple people over it, making sure they didn't do it again is reasonable, and showing off as much as possible to demonstrate how terrible of an idea it is makes sense. Trying to provoke them into doing something about it and potentially starting WW3 just to poke their pride is not reasonable.

@@joshuawillingham6363 More like provoking them to show up and watch so America didn't look stupid bringing an army to trim a tree. And I also don't think it was an overreaction so much as, like you said, a big demonstration of the FAFO factor involved with poking the giant.

Sorry to always be the guy pointing these things out, but you did not really perceive that map fully...the one about the Non-Aligned Nations. The map was marked with 2 shades of blue, and was indicating the nations colored dark blue were the non-aligned ones, with the nations marked in light blue being all of the aligned nations that were not in NATO....such as Mexico. Also, it does not happen much...I can't recall ever spotting one...but F.E. makes an actual factual error in this one. He said that Nixon was impeached, but he was not...he resigned before the articles of impeachment the House of Representatives were considering against him were ever voted on. I fully appreciate this is a minor distinction, but impeachment is a legal process, and thus revolves around technicalities like that. It is definitely not a huge issue, but it is notable that F.E. made the mistake since he is so good at getting all the details right in his videos.💯

@joshuawillingham6363
@joshuawillingham6363 8 месяцев назад
To be pedantic, impeachment is technically not the removal of the person from the position, but the process by which that is done. So he was technically impeached, the process just didn't get to the point of actually removing him from office because he bailed. Someone can also be impeached and not removed from office is the process determines it's not warranted.
@iKvetch558
@iKvetch558 8 месяцев назад
@@joshuawillingham6363 No...the articles were never voted on...the articles get voted on and THEN go to the Senate for trial. Yes, the process was begun, but they never got to the actual impeachment by voting on the actual articles to send to the Senate.

The problem with most so-called martial arts is that they were formed either to fight people who had no fighting style or people that were going to fight with the same style as you. The moment you step outside the art into someone that actually knows how to fight such as an MMA guy who will just take you to the dirt and ground and pound you, it's usually over. This was proven years ago by that Chinese gentleman who basically had his social credit score and life removed from him because he kept embarrassing the so-called Grandmasters of all of the Chinese martial arts. And it was not even close. Too much form and not enough function and I speak as one who was apparently skilled in the art of isshinryu karate. I later developed my own style of fighting for my personal self-defense that works with my limited size and reach. And like most people it is a combination of being aggressive enough quickly enough and not being afraid to devastate the most vital parts of an individual for my own safety in order to evade and escape instead of having to stand and fight, unless absolutely necessary. I don't think people take their safety seriously enough and unfortunately not everything is for everyone. As a self-taught drummer I learned the same thing. That there may be such a thing as technique but what matters much much more is you being able to perform the exercises with comfort, and speed when necessary. Definitely liked how you pointed out the difference between legit and not legit when it comes to taekwondo because as you said any art can be devastating under the right circumstances and when delivered by the appropriate person.

I'm a dirty fning commie. I have never defended anything the Soviets, Chinese or North Koreans have done. My idea of communism is like an abbey or monastery or a collective worker-owned factory. Real communism, not that statist totalitarian BS. I used to work for nuns. One day I was talking to one of them and she said"we live together and support each other", then she leaned in and whispered, "we're like communists". I own my home. And I also invite homeless people into my home so they have a safe place. THAT is communism. I don't drive tanks into another country and play water polo. "The other one"-- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yong_In_University. I have a black belt from there.
