Didn't work for me but it gave me an idea. I was outputting MKV's from OBS as that was the default. I changed to MP4 and it imported first time into Premiere.
Hello guys! If the manual format change doesn't work for you, here I would like to recommend a good software named WinX Video Converter for converting your video to different formats. Easier & free way to convert the files for Premiere Pro CC: bit.ly/3MLXObL Refer to that link to learn more some possible causes of non-working video files after taking a shoot. It's an easy-to-use 4K/HD video converter, resizer, and editor with GPU acceleration.
The best way to repair the file is use FFmpeg and run the command "ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v libx264 -crf 18 -preset slow -c:a copy output.mp4" replacing input.mp4 with your video and replacing output.mp4 with whatever you want to name the video. It will "re-encode" the video and give you a fresh healthy video. This is better than trimming 1 second off in Window's movies & TV app because it preserves the encoding settings of the original file.
when i was importing the file which i change to .avi i got a different error message "We were unable to open the file on disk" how do you solve this one?
Try to change the format to any different video format. If still none of which work for you, you might want to try to convert it to a different video file format using a 3rd party video converter. Check the pinned comment for a recommended one.
I have no idea except those three ways I mentioned in the video. May I know how many times you tried to change its file format? I can only suggest you change the video file format to every different format as possible. I hope this helpful and good luck!
I have 2 solutions you can try. First convert the file in a video convertor software (I use wondershare). Convert to whichever video format and try importing it to premiere pro. Second method, Import the file to after effect then render it out as MOV file (QuickTime) if that fails use the converted file from first method and render it out in after effect. Hope these work for you.
Yes, this is a better idea. But the problem in this way is that not all users have After Effect installed on their computer. As an additional trick for this, we can use other video converter tools which are lighter and quicker to install if you don't have one yet such as Freemake Video Converter, VideoProc, Any Video Converter, and more options.
@@KEYSConstrictors You have to use Total commander and change the extension of the video file. Sometimes it doesnt work with just renaming the file. I tried all his methods, nothing worked but when i changed the extension with total commander ( mp4 to avi ) it worked.
