I am sorry for every time dispo rounds made me consult psych for capacity eval. I didn't wanna place the consult, I told them I was perfectly capable of doing it, they didn't care. 😿
is there a channel that explains the joeks in these videos? i wish i got the depth of the humor as non-med pleeb. what is "pressure support" and why is the the top comedic bit in this sketch?? i wanna knooowwww!
ok watched 5 more times and i think i get it: doc wants to perform surgery when the intubated guy wakes up but is concerned that they patient is gonna refuse. wants to get around this by saying patient is incapable of making his own decisions due to psych reason. psych person being consulted susses out that patient is not actually presenting signs of depression, it's a ruse because patient is actually intubated. "pressure support" has something to do with how the patient's current hospital room setting environment. yeah?
Not necessarily, jokes aside people are unsure if someone has capacity if they have psychotic illness, but that doesn’t automatically preclude it as long as their delusions don’t interfere with their rationale or decision making for the specific issue
