@Bryan Wolfmueller I just started to read the Bible. And your tutorial helps me a lot while I'm reading. I'm following through and it gives me a better picture. So thank you for that, and thank you for the good job. Keep it up glory to GOD
Your good at explaining and making interpretations enjoyable, you don't make me feel tired or sleepy, you speak with a voice that keeps me from sleeping
@@sidepot And you are nothing but a represention of the devil, you are of your father satan!!! Never have you been saved because you speak like him, and because of it you'll become me like him. Father and son, satan and you for damnation unless you repent.
Thank you for your time in explaining this verse. I am currently taking a Cristian Worldview Course at college and I needed to study this verse for a quiz. I was not able to make heads or tails of it and now I can say I understand it so much more.
No, it was not a spiritual death as you say it was. The lord killed an animal and put on them skins. So, He covered their spirits with skins of flesh. I invite you to read it in Hebrew.
Heavenly father, in complete agreement with this message I loosen the promise of genesis 3:15 to be truth in my life and the lives of my enemies, binding every bruising of the head and seed of the serpent upon no return in my life, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
That was definitely a long shot but man you hit it, that was definitely skilled accuracy cause that was a good one "Fall colors" ❤️🔥 man thanks great grandparents I don't know where we would stand today if we never fell It's alright tho the lord has mercy and discipline 🙏 thanks be to his glory
Amazing verse! I didn’t know the richness of the meaning of the verse other than it foretelling Christ. Thank you for explaining everything, especially the meaning of the seed of the devil, the seed of Eve, God putting enmity between the devil and Eve, and that only God can destroy the devil and crush his head. Glad to hear you are going to go through Hebrews for your next Grappling with the Text. I have been wondering about Heb. 2:9 -- if Jesus is God, how could he have been made lower than the angels?
05:05 "every other place in the bible when it talks about seed it belongs to the man" -- maybe not so. "And the angel of the LORD said unto her [Hagar], I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude." Gen 16:10
No version of the bible omits the word FROM in Genesis 4:1. Even the 1599 Geneva bible says " I have obtained a man by the Lord" so you can not imply that Eve thought her son was the Lord.
The verse says that they will bruise each other. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel. Depending on the translation you’ll get crush and bite. Crush and strike but primarily the translation is bruise and bruise or strike and strike. This implies an ongoing conflict but does not proclaim a victor of either.
Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. - Romans 16:17-20 I've been wrestling with this one this morning, but it is resolved in Romans. I think it's just our translation, and that they understood it to be crush and either bruise or strike. God tells us what is going to happen all over the place, so it's weird for this verse to be open ended like that. Based on this passage from Romans, I think it's just a translation error, which just makes deep study more important really. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.
Genesis 24:60 also speaks about a woman’s seed talking about Rebekah also Gen 16:10 speaks about Hagar and her seed just letting you know there are other locations that speaks about the seed of a woman. Are you sure it’s not just talking about her descendants? I’m trying to figure your explanation out. Also the NASB says “I have gotten a man child with the help of the lord” NASB is considered to be a literal translation by most scholars.
I followed up and research more said about Cain. It Elaborates Moore and first John 12 can you please explain that verse connected to Genesis chapter 3 verse 15. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore Slew he him? Because his own works were evil and his brothers were righteous.
And I also noticed you guys have not studied etymology or origins of the text, there's no prophecy about a virgin birth all those things are Catholic constructs they added with the four Gospels,, and Isaiah 7:14 it's talking about a king being born which is fulfilled in chapter 8, Isaiah 7:14 does not indicate it is a prophecy whatsoever, Paul never mentions it a single time because it has nothing to do with prophecy
God talks to the snake in the presence of Chawa / Eve. So it makes sense to speak about 'her seed'.. You can find a similar phrasing in Gen. 16.10 where Hagar is being blessed by the words that her offspring will be countless. Whenever 'seed' is used in tenach, it always means 'offspring' in the plural. And off course, both the man and woman are meant. It's absolutely ridiculous to think that only the seed of the woman is meant. And where do you got the crazy idea that the snake is supposed to be the devil?
Love your work for my Bible Study. Question: for the line "It shall bruise thy head". Isn't " thy head" referring to the devil instead of God? God is speaking to Satan. I don't think God would say "thy head" in speaking of Himself.
Satan does have offsprings(seed) as well that is not speaking of sin and death. Everything that has a seed has the ability to create life. Rather it’s good or bad.
What do you make of the Idea that Cain (& therefore his descendants) was the Literal "Seed" of Satan? What of the Nephilim or Giants who were born of natural women & the "Sons of God" and resulted in increasing Wickedness on the Earth and then the Flood? I somehow doubt that the Seed of Satan in Genesis 3 is just Sin & Death.. What about Jesus calling the Pharisees Not the children of God, but their Father being the Devil in John 8:44?
What Happened To Adams Seedline ? There Are Only Two Seedlines. The Serpents And The Woman. Eve Hearkened To The Voice Of Her Husband. Adam Was Not Deceived. Iniquity Was Found In Adam. Adam Sinned And Brought Death Upon Himself And All His Posterity. Eve Whose Name Was Hahwah, Did Not Sin. She Did Not Die. She Is " The Living god (Holy Angel)
are you sure about the claim you made that every seed in the bible belongs to a man? what about Hagar seed in Genesis 16:10, quote:"“I will greatly multiply your seed” not “I will greatly multiply his [Abraham’s] seed.” Genesis Chapter 24:60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her: 'Our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of ten thousands, and let thy seed possess the gate of those that hate them.' it also begs the question, god talking to Eve when referring about her seed. what happened with it? did Adam provide hes seed to her or was it a virgin birth too?
I realize you just explained a tradition on that story, but if you accept that the AUTHORITY of the scriptures resided with the AUTHORS (as they are the ones "moved by the Holy Spirit") there is NOTHING of what you say in the actual words of Genesis (or the books of Moses, if we assume he is thr author). IE. 1. the "serpent" is said to be "of the beasts of the field". He is never said to be the devil. That is just what John says in Revelation by allusion many centuries later. 2. The "seed" is plural and just refers to descendents . No reference to a Messiah. 3 . The verse doesn't say "crush" .. exactly the same Hebrew word is use for action of both.. "he will STRIKE ..and you will STRIKE" (NRSV) What has occurred is Church tradition has used it's imagination from other later teaching of the bible but in doing so has ignored the AUTHORITY of the biblical author.. So it's just a teaching illustration but has zero authority...no different from a good sermon joke. Anyone interested check out Dr. John Walton from Wheaton College on that and how to interpret the OT.
Abel was killed by his brother Cain ,but we don't come from Cain because Cain was sent away with one of his sisters this doesn't mean ( incest) by the time this happened perfect humans lived hundreds of years , and there were a lot of humans around, now ,we are decendants of Set another of Eve's sons. The Promise to Abraham comes from this son all the way to Isaac and Jacob. I think Cain lost it for him and his decendants.
Apart from belief , why God said don't eat fruit of knowledge ? purticularly to woman ? How serpent had more knowledge and information about tree of knowledge and tree of life better than Eve and Adam ?
The devil has both flesh and blood and spirit seeds, just as God has earthly seed(jew) while the gentiles where the seed of the devil,as in the old testament,in the new testament as many as receive him,to them he gave power to be the sons of God,not by the will of flesh or blood nor will of man but by his spirit,God himself his their father,in the book of John.Just as the devil turned Adam and Eve against God,God can always turn the people of darkness to his marvelous light🙏😇
Seed means off spring you need to look in the Hebrew language, it’s not figurative for death and destruction. That’s just want you feel that it means, we must go by the actual meaning in the original hebrew. The seed of Satan and the seed of the woman means offspring. Satans offspring the Nephilim, those like Herod that Satan would control,
Are you implying Herod is a direct physical descendant of Satan? Lol. The seed of Satan is obviously used in a figurative sense, just like the seed of the woman, because FYI, woman don't posses a seed.
Genesis 3v15 also destroys the trinitarian view . The redeemer had to come from the seed (ovum) of the woman which is impossible if he already existed prior to humanity. Plus in thebsame vien of thought it makes all those promises to Adam, Shem, Abraham etc a lie for hes not from their lineage because he existed before them. Plus, he has no connection to humanity at all. So how is he our saviour?
And if Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, and man and woman and because of. Adams sin he told the serpent from the beginning that from the womb of the woman the depends head will be crushed and at the same time their heel will be struck. I know yahusha is the son of elohim because he is loving and not dead like you believe. The Bible is really deep and it's been 2 years and I learn more and more everyday
is Islam a fulfillment or a contradiction? This is the question you can ask of any religion. Compare Genesis 3:15 and Surah 7 24 to see how the message of God becomes distorted in the Quran. God's word will endure, yet clearly it was changed in quran
Sir the verse has nothing to do with jesus. The serpent also is just an animal cursed by God in verse 14. From his belly thou go and dust shall thou eat all the days of your life. If the serpent is Satan then he would have been crowling on the ground all his life and his seed😊 eating dust all his life.
So not that it matters, but for our theological imaginations. I think based on the Gen 3:14, that the devil was a unicorn 🦄. Because God specifically zeros in on livestock, field animals, belly. This animal had to have had legs before the curse. It could be the reason for the old pictures of a man and woman in the garden with a unicorn. Just for imagination purposes, not doctrinal. 14 Then the Lord God said to the serpent, “(A)Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all the livestock, And more than any animal of the field; On your belly you shall go, And (B)dust you shall eat All the days of your life;
The scriptures state clearly it was a serpent, not the “devil”. Or the adversary. Stop reading your things into scripture. “And the naḥash was more crafty than all the lives of the field which יהוה Elohim had made, and he said to the woman, “Is it true that Elohim has said, ‘Do not eat of every tree of the garden’?”” Berĕshith (Genesis) 3:1 TS2009
@@PastorBryanWolfmueller the so called “NT” does not define the scriptures. Plus Yhwh said it was a beast in the field meaning an animal, not some spiritual being. We can not read into scripture what we want to fit our ideas. So I guess the Pharisees (in John) Father was the devil than and they’re his children. Sorry no.
So Mary is the Woman that does not have a son by man ( sin)so he will crush Satan's head (death)and Satan will only bruise him (Jesus)is the brusing ,the death of Christ and resurrection. That's what I understand. He gave his life for us to live.
The text is not a riddle at all. The woman’s seed is her offspring and the devils seed is the offspring of the fallen angels taking woman and creating Nephilim. Gen 6 also Jesus told the Farisees they were like there father the devil. God protected the bloodline all the way through the Jews to Jesus that will destroy the devil at the end. Don’t put your own thoughts to the bible but rather read what it says. Everything in the bible is literal.
What in the world are you talking about man. In the Hebrew text it says the serpent or devil acquired himself a bloodline which God them Place enmity against, throughout the entire Bible you can see God commanding Israel to kill the women the men and the children of the Nephilim, in the Hebrew text the term Nephilim translates to the Fallen ones aka the children of the Angels. According to the biblical text they left their first estate came down and took wives from the women of men and mix the creation.. In doing so it left mankind stuck in his grave unable to ascend which then called for the coming of the Christ to go through the death burial and Resurrection take the keys of death and Hell from Satan and loose the people from the prison house which according to the biblical text is hell.. Simply making up a story about Satan's Offspring somehow not being a seed but rather sin is pretty much making a mockery of the ancient manuscript in order to try and maintain a religion you're probably following which is not consistent to the historical texts
Here are the characters of Genesis 3:14,15 and what they Really Mean! 1) The Serpent: Satan the Devil, whom Revelation 12:9 identifies as “the original serpent.” A literal snake could not understand what God said in the garden of Eden, only an intelligent creature would understand God's judgment. 2) The Offspring of the Serpent: Wicked spirit creatures and humans who resist God and oppose His people. They think and act like their symbolic father. (John 8:44; 1John 5:19; Jude 6) 3) The Woman: The heavenly part of Jehovah God’s organization made up of his faithful spirit creatures. She is NOT Eve! Why not? The prophecy states that the offspring of the woman would "crush" the Serpent. The Serpent is the spirit creature Satan, and no imperfect human offspring of Eve's would have the ability to crush him. Her identity is revealed in Revelation 12:1,2,5,10! This is no ordinary woman! She has the moon at her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head. She gives birth to a most unusual child--the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom is heavenly, so the woman must also be heavenly. (Galatians 4:26) 4) The Offrspring of the Woman: Jesus Christ and his 144,000 anointed corulers. The apostle Paul identified this part of the offspring at Galatians 3:28,29. When God anointed a Christian with holy spirit, that person becomes part of the offspring of the woman.
The seed of the serpent is the Antichrist who bruised Jesus Christ heel and the seed of woman is Jesus Christ who crushed the Antichrists head, hints Revelation 13:3
Interesting video but you are incorrect when you say, around the 5:15 mark, that "every other place in the Bible when it talks about seed it belongs to the man." For instance, Gen. 24:60: "And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them." I otherwise enjoyed it though and found it beneficial.
🐍"Every other place in the bible it talks about the seed it talks about the decendants of a man"? That is false... Genesis 17:10 The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count." Also, nowhere in the OT does it ever use the the word seed in singular context. In context it's always plural. Lastly it doesn't say Satan or the devil anywhere in Genesis. You are making stuff up and changing the Genesis story to fit a narrative.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient *serpent,* who is called the Devil and Satan, the *deceiver* of the whole world-he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Genesis 3:13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The *serpent* *deceived* me, and I ate.” See Jack Collins, A SYNTACTICAL NOTE (GENESIS 3:15): IS THE WOMAN’S SEED SINGULAR OR PLURAL? for an exhaustive explanation as to why the LXX rendering (and traditional Christian usage of it) is justified.
@@davidprince8461 Oh. You don't believe the New Testament. No need for discussion on that point then. Concerning the LXX rendering vs. Masoretic, did you have a look at Collins' argument? It's free online in pdf.
@@Mygoalwogel I don't belive in adding words to change the story when I don't understand something. Anyone can do that a thousand years later. It doesn't require anything special. Just make up a bunch of stuff. Ok I'll look up Jack Collins argument since you don't understand it and couldn't explain it yourself.
@@davidprince8461 I commend you for not adding to the words of Scripture. Do you believe that Scripture interprets Scripture, and so Revelation can give insight into Genesis?
ha-satan lucifer the evil one the old serpent which is the devil he's the seducer tempter deceiver accuser and he may not touch those saved in Jesus Christ to see the kingdom of God You must be born again of the Holy Spirit✝️
Genesis 3:15 And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.” . The woman's seed is the male child: . Revelation 12:4-5 And the dragon kept standing before the woman who was about to give birth, that, when she did give birth, it might devour her child. 5 And she gave birth to a son, a male, who is to shepherd all the nations with an iron rod. . That's right! -- Satan, the dragon knows who the woman's seed is! .
