the first MOD your CUMMINS NEEDS *GlowShift gauge install*. I install GlowShift gauges into my 2001 24 valve Dodge Cummins in this video. The gauges I installed are a boost gauge, EGT gauge (pyrometer), and Fuel Pressure gauge. The Cummins has needed this mod for a while now, and it's very important to install a set of gauges on any diesel truck, especially these 98.5-02 2nd gen Dodge Cummins trucks. I will do a review video of what I think about these GlowShift gauges soon, and also show you what the gauges are reading while I'm driving the Cummins on my long commute to work. If you own a diesel truck and are trying to decide what Mod to do FIRST, then do yourself a favor and buy a set of gauges so you can monitor the vital signs of your diesel truck!

Install for these was not too bad. They send you everything you need in the package I bought. It really made things a lot easier. If I had to make my own wiring harness, it would have taken a lot longer to get done. That saved a lot of time having their 3 gauge wiring harness all premade. It took me a little bit longer than it would take most other people because I was trying to film it while I did it all. Couple hours of your time, and they're in and ready to go. I'm probably going to order a new pillar pod though and get one with out the hole in it for the little speaker and also a gray one to match the rest of my interior. That should be a 20 minute swap though. I'd give GlowShift a 10 out of 10 rating with their instructions, pictures, and items included in the kit. They break it right down for you with a list of tools needed, and all that.

I’ve been on the market for this type of gauge set up for my 2002 Cummins however I have heard a lot of bad things about glow shift…. That being said how are they holding up for you for years later after you installed them? Oh or if you had to do it all over again would you choose a different brand? Thanks for the help buddy!

3:20 The plug that you are holding is the CAN Bus plug for the Overhead trip computer if it had it. It hangs to the side of a main wire box that has a gold screw in the center. Side Note Any Pickup with the SLT package will have that connector whether it originally came with the ovhd computer. Also Chrysler called the bus CCD or Chrysler Collision Detection. It is a twisted pair of wires.

Stock boost line sucks, mine kinked so easy. If you ever need to replace it use 1/8in DOT Airbrake hose. Replaced mine last week and works great

Getting ready to install some glowshift gauges. Were you happy mounting the fuel sensor at the VP44 banjo bolt? Instructions say under the filter, but at the pump is easier and makes more sense. Any extra information you can share is appreciated.

When you removed the low pressure adapter and placed the fee pressure gauge did that cause an engine light to appear?

Is that a safe spot to hook up the fuel pressure gauge? Will the pluses from the vp44 not kill the gauge or sender?

You want to hook up a snubbed valve with the fuel pressure sensor. The snubbed valve will take care of the pulsing from the vp44 and your gauge will be fine.

Did you need a banjo bolt to go back where the shredder valve came from or does the snubber valve screw right back in it's place? Just trying to order the right parts sorry for the questions

@@blawsonbl I used the "t" fitting with the snubber valve then put the sensor port and sensor into the snubber and it was done.

@@jake-qn6zy if ur fuel pressure is too low it will kill your fuel pump on these trucks the VP44. The lift pump which is different from the fuel pump (VP44) is a fail point on these trucks , when the lift pump fails the VP44 keeps working and ends up failing because it’s not getting enough fuel to keep it cool, that’s the purpose of the lift pump, to pump fuel into the VP44 to keep it cool. People usually opt for an aftermarket lift pump system like the air dog to ensure plenty of fuel pressure.

Thanks, man. Fortunately we did not get any snow here. The temps have fallen a bit and were getting rain/freezing rain mixes. I feel you on wanting to be able to just work on the truck without worrying about the weather. I just had mine checked out Friday at the shop and let's just say that the mechanic didn't give me the best report on things that need some attention after the winter months here.

Damn, lol. Mother Nature needs to get off the rag this year and cheer up so we can start enjoying some warm weather. This is the type of weather that makes me want to relocate my family down south somewhere. We will be out there enjoying summer days soon enough in this northern wonderland!
