Billed as the first PS2 survival horror title, Extermination is very much a product of the early PS2 era.
Somewhat fitting that Tokuro Fujiwara, director of Sweet Home and a producer of the first Resident Evil, was the executive producer of Extermination. While those were groundbreaking titles, Extermination is pretty ho-hum. Extermination has its moments, but the execution of its mechanics is lacking.

If you're looking for horror titles taking place in Antarctica, The Thing and Code Veronica are far better choices than Extermination.
