Oh my goodness.....this was the first VHS Videos Tape that I owned back in the summer of 1985. I had to play it on my girlfriends VHS player , as my family had yet to own one. I watched this film over and over and it was so cool to pause it and rewind back then. I had never owned a movie before. Brings back great memories!
We've got plenty of teens who feel like they're the only teens enjoying L&H today. You're not alone. But you're almost alone. Hallmark owns the Hal Roach/L&H library and adamantly refuse to promote them on TV or theater screens. This may be the first generation to grow up without L&H since the 1930s! To create L&H fans you gotta get 'em young. If someone is exposed to L&H as a child they will never lose their love for the boys. If introduced as an adult, they are usually totally disinterested. So, everybody, keep Stan and Ollie alive by introducing them to a kid.
I have this movie on DVD however four minutes of footage, some of which is the funniest moments in this movie, is cut. I'm glad to see the movie in its entirety here. Thanks very much for posting. Hopefully this uncut version will be available on DVD.
ih8kit Sounds like the Legend Films THE FLYING DEUCES IN COLOR 2012 DVD, aka. "The Shark Free Edition!" What a travesty that was! If you have Blu-ray capability, I highly recommend the new VCI Entertainment Region A Blu-ray Release! Here's the U.S. Amazon Link: www.amazon.com/Laurel-Hardy-Flying-Deuces-Blu-ray/dp/B00TPN7DEO/ref=cm_rdp_product CHEERS! Tony
This is good, but VCI Entertainment recently released a better version to Blu-ray (But not DVD, unfortunately!) that also plays at the proper speed! I don't know whether it'll play outside Region A without the use of Modified or Multi Region Blu-ray Players, however? CHEERS! Tony
Regarding "Harvest Moon;" I'm very surprised that music didn't figure more in their shorts; Hardy was a superb tenor and Stan was a good baritone; this is perfect for harmonizing.
