it’s amazing how the internet is slowly bringing this band back into the consciousness, esp for us in the hot topic/fuse generation. i discovered this band in grade school bc the music video for These Lights was in the victory records dvd sampler that was included with June’s IYSAF LP. i hadn’t thought of em since and 15 whole years later i’ve rediscovered them and it’s been an absolute obsession this autumn. by far one of the most underrated bands of the genre and of the generation
I heard this on Fuse 10 years ago... and didn't catch the name of the band when the video played, but that chorus hook has stuck with me for the last 10 years... today I FINALLY found the song again and I remember all over again why I love this song.
Just told pretty much the exact same story on FB: "Saw this twice on Fuse like 10 plus years ago and thought it was rad. Then never heard it again and couldn't remember anything about it except the melody. No lyrics or the band name. One day I actually remembered the "rest my head" part of the chorus and for weeks googled on n off and one day finally found it. Now I jam it on the regular . But just this song. I know nothing else about the band."
so frustrating when bands get buried like that when they are this good but also amazing that our little brains hold on to a lyric to find later in life like an Easter egg.
I heard their first full length song late night conversations on some snow boarding game and I was obssesed with it and it took like 4 months to get thwir album when hot topic use to order albums if they didnt have it i love these guys
2023 and im still listening to the forecast this band deserves more recognition sad to see they only have 853 subscribers. thank you so much for existing and being part of my life!
This songs occasionally stills pops in my head when I'm at my darkest. Helps me feel a little bit of light. If these guys ever get back together, I gotta see em
My sister and I were basically kidnapped by our dad and stepmother, our first night in their house this song came on the old VH1. I was 12 years old and this song has always been ingrained in my soul. It's inconsequential but it was there and I've held it close to my heart ever since
2023 and still one of my faves of all time. Shannon's voice gives me goosebumps. Amazing and even after all these years still hold up better that most of todays music.
SUCH an underrated band. Let me tell you, I wore this album out when it came out. To anyone still listening or just finding them, I solute you! 10+ years later and it still hits me in the feels. Also, I found this on the FUSE channel... whatever happened to that channel? SOOOOO MANY GOOD BANDS AND GOOD MUSIC and it disappeared like dust in the wind, just like the good times do.
The memories man, I swear sometimes they’re amazing and other times they’re destructive. Either way I’m glad to have met the person who showed me this song.
I've been listening to this song for 10 years; and every time I hear it, its just as good as the first time. It blows me away. This band is just incredible. I wish they would have gotten bigger than they did. They deserved it.
Truth ive been listening to them since i was like 13 off of amp'd a snow boarding game it was the first cd i actually bought ever i had been given others but i went out and ordered (late night conversations) to hot topic and it blew my mind
I had the chance to hangout with these guys in Columbia, SC. I was recording a record in the area and locals told me about their show. I didn't have any money at all. Completely broke i figured if I hung out behind the venue i could hear the music from outside. While hanging out back there i bumped into their drummer. He was super nice! We talked drums for a few minutes before he invited me to meet the rest of the band!! It was a great experience meeting them. They also put me on the guest list! I got to see the show from the front row!!!
When The shadow of two gunman came out me and a friend decided to make a trip to see them in Peoria on a victory label tour with Moros Eros. We ended up helping them carry their equipment and set up and they invited us for driving from Indiana to see them to party at their friends house. It was truly a night I will never forget. These guys were very down to earth and amazing I miss them so much.
Hearing this song as a kid back in '06 all you think is man this is cool, listening as you grow up over the almost two decades since, song strikes home.
I use to hangout with this band all the time in metamora,il. Dustin is now the band manager for fall out boy. Crazy how things change so much and i deffinatly agree they should have been way bigger than they where back in the day.
God i miss them.. this song and these lights were so good.. so meaningfull and soo catchy! i love it.. its like every six months or so over the last like 5 years ill listen to them and just cant get over how good they are.. i wish they could of made it big.
I remember this in the MySpace days (yes I'm old). It brings back memories of going to shows like this. And listening to live music playing. Good times.
They are amazing live too. I remember going to see them in Toledo a few years back. They were the headliner but everybody went to see the band that played before them then left when they were done. what is wrong with people? I got to hang with the band after the show in the bar. It was pretty cool. The drummer is a very cool guy as they all are.
Working at my current job in which given no respect even though our work is important just everyone else and this song and video becomes more relatable as time goes
