@@joshuamoore1091 I just found the actual CD but man i wanna find my DVD and watch all those other bands too. dude i fucking heard BTBAM's "Alaska" off that dvd and it got me into prog metal too. i miss the mid-late 2000s so much
The Victory records sample cd that had Hawthorne, Silverstein, Atreyu and Action on it was the first one I had. This band was on the second one that was like a dark blue. Still listening to them all now and that was like ‘04.
the guitarist told me he wishes the JV would have ended up a big band like Yellowcard. regardless of whether or not Yellowcard's songwriting is better or more "hit worthy", this band smashes yellowcard on style and technicality. this is an all around cool band with so much personality, and i'm honored to be covering their songs.
Oh God how I miss when I was in elementary playing ncaa mvp baseball 2006 on the ps2 back in 3rd grade and this song came on. This was back in 08. How I miss the memories
Smoked these guys out in our van after a show in MI. Genuinely funny and good dudes on top of being a phenomenal band. They were even better live than on their album.
I'm sure they check the comments regularly on their songs. I would just like to say to them that as a 22 year old who was too young to be apart of this era, and who just discovered you guys last year in 2023 from MVP 06 NCAA Baseball, thank you for the music! I've checked out their entire discography and it's so underrated. I hope to be able to fly out from NY to IL one day to see one of your shows!
Saw this band live in Detroit one time at a myspace cafe pop up event. There was a basketball hoop set up in this warehouse place where they played. After the show just shot hoops with them for 15-20 mins. The good old days.
I remember first hearing/seeing this on a victory records dvd that I got at a Hawthorne heights concert and me and my friends made fun of it but I secretly loved it and eventually found the album and it is in my top 10 favorite albums of all time. Unashamedly. Amazing
I played this song on my headset all the time while traveling with my baseball team... in the NCAA. How lucky was I? I was in 6th grade when i first heard this song on NCAA 06. Im still mad im not on NCAA Baseball 14-18 because it doesn't exsist 😢
I moved into a house at Illinois State that had a bunch of merch left after they moved out in like 2005. Didn’t think much of it until one night I saw them on MTV. Ordered their CD and it was 🔥 We had The JV and Bottle of Justus at the same time at ISU, I didn’t know how good I had it back then.
I first heard this like 5 years ago. It's a damn injustice these guys along with other great Victory artists at that time were overlooked and never got noticed beyond some rotation on Fuse (back when Fuse was good? Anybody?)
saw this on june's if you speak any faster + taking back sunday's TAYF's special edition digipak dvd as a kid. that victory records label sampler literally changed the course of my life lol I wasn't the same after 2005
This song is one of the songs that made me want to pick up a guitar. Found it on a Victory sampler DVD that I got with an Atreyu album. I had forgot the name of this band until I was talking to my brother about my new Les Paul, and I was talking about how long I'd wanted a Les Paul and how this video was what made me want one, and I kind of explained the video and I remembered the chorus of the song at least, and he was like "oh yeah, The Junior Varsity" and I immediately came here. Definitely still a great song. Shame that I didn't really get too much into them after the fact.

You guys. I remember having a magazine page ripped out of these guys and taped to my wall in college in 2005. I have had that image seared in my brain the last couple of years but COULD NOT remember their name or their songs lol! After two separate times scrolling through thousands of folders in an old hard drive, I FINALLY FOUND THEEEMMMMM
He is an amazing lyricist and the music is awesome. It is a crying shame (and I did cry) what happened to him. I love it this band. God bless man and I wish nothing but the best for you. 9 years laters and it still rocks!!
Gosh I love this song. I remember when I use to listen to a lot of bands from Victory Records. :) I use to love June and their song Patrick! This band was so good. Why dont they have more attention??
I was talking with my co-worker yesterday and we started talking about sports games and I said that ncaa baseball 2006 was one of my favorites. He told me that he was the drummer for junior varsity. Crazy
Matt Layne I was emo to it ain't that special most people turn 20 and leave that sad depressing part of their lives and never mention it again before that game this reminded me of warped
These guys came and stayed at my bass players house when they were on tour for this album. Went and hung out down at ocean city for the day. Super cool guys. I played this album that entire summer. Especially this song and mad for Medusa. This album still holds up. They deserved a lot more attention than they got. But victory records has this habit of ruining the careers of great bands. I Was close friends with the sleeping too, and victory truly screwed them over also. But dammit if this wasn’t the golden age for victory records.
agree! I still have two of the Victory Records DVD's that were filled with Music Videos from Awesome Bands like: Aiden, June, The Junior Varsity, etc... Sad but atleast I still have the DVD to rock out too.
@@KnockoffShadowtheHedgehog Listening to this song for the first in forever, thanks to you! I got my PhD 6 years ago and now I work in NYC. I know Victory Records is still around but I probably haven't thought about that label since I left this comment.
Yeah mate me too, those dvds were the reason i got into these bands. Junior Varsity, June and The Audition were all bands with so much to offer but they didnt get the backing. Thankfully The Audition are trying to get back to greatness on their own but any band signed to victory are under constant pressure. They cant be enjoying making music with the pressure.

Yeah I remember reading about that a couple of years ago about Taking Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights and even Silverstein not having anything good to say at all about Victory Records. A couple of other good bands were "Autumn Offering:Revelation" and "Spitalfield: Gold Dust vs. The State of Illinois"
I bought all Spitalfield and Silverstein albums too. Unfortunately Spitalfield are no more too. Silverstein left victory in 2010 and are enjoying continued success. TBS leaving to go to warner changed there career and now are bigger than ever. Victory have no patience and most bands signed to them tried to get away and never have anything nice to say about them.
