Slann fell off his wheelchair on the way to battle and it kept going on without him, he's lying back there in the woods somewhere with a crew of Skinks trying to help him up
The bug on the Slann's Palanquin was hilarious, and wow those trees were doing work in blocking those salamander shots. Had the game been on a more open map they'd have ripped right through the infantry on objective 2.
Burning head seems like it just hard counters anything good WE can do. Those expensive blade singers got flushed halfway down the toilet the second they entered the battlefield, compared to what infantry with a little bit of armor from other factions would do. Far from impossible of course, but a lot of uphill
I won’t lie, I haven’t played this MU in like 6 months and I completely forgot about waywatchers 😂 for a moment I was so confused about how my toad died. TLDR though, lizardmen nerfs definitely made this battle feel pretty awkward with the build I had. Timing felt off between less units available from price hikes and ofc points opening up immediately. Elvio is definitely an up and comer! Thanks for the cast as always!
As a Lizardman player, it was rare to get to watch a win, a great battle. Not sure what different I'd add, I like bringing in a Sauras veteran, but other than the dragon there were no good targets for him. Lizardmen are in a decent state but haven't actually had many updates. What I mean by that is CA has given lizardmen loads of DLC, but the DLC frequently contains big monsters, it feels odd where there are literally three different Skinks inc missile and three different foot Saurus units - the faction could be spiced up with a bit more variety in its foot soldiers.
Wood elves need a big buff so bad. It's kind of silly that every human faction, Kislev, Empire and Bretonnia are the most OP when lore wise they should be some of the weaker armies compared to elves or chaos.
The ghost chair haha In one of my campaign battles just now half of my lords of change had nothing but wings in the air, and exalted lord of change had no head, this bug must have blown his mind i guess.
Wood elves really need some love. You really have to micro them so hard and they're so flimsy. Maybe the brettonia grail treatment, replacing the physical resistance of their elite with ward save?
Hey Turin I have a question about your terminology. Would you say the salamanders are a late game sweeper unit because it's a solid dps option that can sweep up multiple damaged units and quickly end a pitched battle. You always call knights or a land ship a late game sweeper and I've never really got the term
What do WE have that can clear chaff well? I would think dwellers below, but I'm not sure about units. I'm thinking about this because there was just a lizard tide of skinks at the end.
Even the wardancers in general can dominate the melee fights against chaff, but as everything woodelf related it requires a lot of micro and are very vulnerable to magic and shooting. The toad died very early in the game and came back to completely carry the game by casting 3-4 good spells.
Oof. Those old Kroxigors models in the thumbnail. 😂 I was just painting some of the new ones for a friend yesterday. They’re much better in my opinion.
Hmm, so Lizardmen field less complex armies but are disgustingly resilient. I think the woodelves could have won too, probably just the micro and choice of targets.
The wood elf player was like partially afk throughout the second half of the game. I counted at least 3 or 4 times where units would just be standing there with no commands. As someone who plays wood elves a lot myself I just can’t stand seeing a lord on a dragon just sitting there and taking shots for no reason.
One prob is there are only three types of skinks, 2 chameleons and three foot sauras to choose from as a Lizardman player. I suspect the lizardman player didn't bring a big monster due to the disgustingly good ranged from wood elves - in total war a lot of the battle is fought picking troops...
The Chameleon's have to be annoying if they are useful, fast+missile+fire while moving. But if a heavy cavalry catches them they do go down, and they are not cheap...
