Pat, I love it when you break it down in layman's terms. you got NCOs in Conventional Units that cannot teach for crap, and the Soldiers are left confused...

I'm glad you mentioned breathing. It applies to any stressful situation. I'm a line cook and when the shit gets thick you start shallow breathing and that is when panic sets in. Breathe, stay calm and get those checks out of my face!

See, hear, breathe, good guidance. The first rule makes sense. My first rule, when I'm teaching someone ignorant about firearms, is "Always be aware of what direction your gun is pointed". They need to orient their thinking that way to avoid relaxing too much when holding a gun, especially a handgun.

THANK YOU!!! You are the only other person that thinks what's between us and the target and what is around the target, (and moving things that may change the situation) is important. I'm tired of the regurgitation without thought of "And what is beyond it"..... I think you could quite safely get along with just two rules, Muzzle Control and Trigger Discipline. Gun prolly won't go off if the trigger doesn't get pulled and if it does, it's not a Big Deal because the gun was indexed in as safe a position as possible. Of the various 'rules', I firmly think that Don't let your muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy is the most important. I've had three guns in my life, fire and I didn't pull the trigger. Finger was off the trigger. The machine failed so my trigger finger position didn't matter. What saved me, and others, was that my muzzle control was good so the bullet didn't strike anything I couldn't live with.

What I learn from these videos is how you can teach. Repetition, clear sentences, and give each piece of information a place in the bigger picture. Pat masters these teaching skills. I don’t have a gun. But I have learned from Pat how to load, aim, change mags, and how to aim and prep the trigger.

@bollewillem1
@bollewillem1 2 года назад
@@yep-sb4uf You mean why I learned things about guns? For no reason. I like his videos and the themes are always different. And part of his repertoire is guns. So I also learn a thing or two about guns.

The infamous Walmart parking lot. I say we rent a van, get the band back together, and make a dry run through the nearest Walmart parking lot. We can then rally up at the local Waffle House and evaluate our performance over a hearty meal. Who’s driving??
