I really appreciate these sneak peeks at your training classes. These clips have helped me improve in several different areas. I would love to take a class or two your style as an instructor is bad ass, but for now I’m grateful you’re sharing what you do. Looking forward to the next one!! ☕️ 🗽✌🏻🦅🤘🏻

I just found you.. I've been a long time shooter, but got away from it for a few years.. Divorce, health, etc.. So now I'm retiring and need to do some shooting again as I'm buying a home defense firearm. Most likely a pistol or an AR15.. Pistol probably.. Probably a 1911.. I used to carry both a 1911 and a Smith and wesson model 19 in 357 with a 2 inch barrel! I subscribed.. Great channel.. Checking out some of your older videos.. Thanks so much. Tim

My instinctual stance is Weaver/modified Weaver because of it's dual-purpose, rifle-friendly nature.
@davidflores2773
@davidflores2773 2 года назад
@@BusyBadger That is what I was brought up on when I enlisted in 1997. I was still using Weaver all the way up to 2019, when I got some training from a non military shooting instructor. The difference in recoil management for me was ver noticeable, and my follow up shots got faster. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 👍🤙

Stances is a constantly evolving in a fight, however exaggerated it might become its all about balance. So would say yes its a fundamental, in that you never wanna be tied down to ridged fundamentals when in a fight. They cause overthinking and slow ridged movements rather smooth flow based on the circumstances.

That gripping of the trigger guard has a benefit for only those that have the right hand size for the particular pistol and trigger guard size and position as well as specific training to gain a small advantage. If it's off, it's worse and weakens the grip and might cause pulling shots to the side. Some competition shooters made good use of it but it's rare. A partially open hand is weaker. If you have to grip forward instead of up, arms positioned further off from symmetrical. Others like Vogel don't grip the front but underneath almost at the corner of the trigger guard, more like a pushed forward wedge grip. What may work on the handgun you got now, might be a detriment on any other pistol you might pick up. The pinky is your hard working guy. Same pressure before, during and after and the same pressure before, during and after dry firing too. EDIT: had a the the and another typo.

Doesn't grip trump trigger pull? If your shots are going left, right, or down you can fix all of that by correcting and adjusting your grip. What says Pat Mac?
