I wanted to discuss a very important topic; how do we take our first steps into the freedom we are introduced to after losing both of our parents or a guardian.
sending you all positive energy

I feel 99.3% of the world is missing out and hasn't had the Sara K experience. Life can be stressful at times in our day to day, but whenever I catch a clip, I feel all the worries of the world is lifted off my shoulders.

I lost my dad 3 weeks ago this day and for me the hardest thing is realizing that people older than me still have their dads and that the life keeps going. It hurts but I keep reminding myself it’s life. There are things I want to share with him but can’t anymore, this is painful. This is truly a different reality.. thanks for the video, Sara!

Thank you Jasmine for bringing about this topic. Sara's words hit home even 4 years after I've lost my mother. I talk to my children about death, not to be afraid but to know how to carry forward. As a young adult moving through the loss of parents, I hope there are still adults who care for you and be a guide. Big hugs.

I lost my dad when I was 6. We were walking down the street, when he just had a heart attack and fell. I was all alone, and it was absolutely traumatising. Years on, I developed quite an attachment to my mother, to the point where it became unhealthy. Now, at 20, I live alone in a different country. While I am not 100% independent yet (financially wise), I am starting to prepare myself for this life of ‘complete freedom’. I can’t say I am excited, ‘cause in fact, it quite scares me. All I hope is that I will have good friends, and maybe a partner (but at this point idk), and a stable job to keep me afloat. I am still trying to find the joys of living, but it’s hard and most of the time the future doesn’t look promising. I hope everything is going to be ok for everyone.

oh my goodness, sara.. thank you so much. you are so very loved by me & i am eternally grateful for your voice 🌷 edit: this video has come at such a poignant time, i’ve definitely been falling into some of the things you have warned about & avoiding other responsibilities because the fear was just too great, but thanks to you, i feel like i can finally approach solving these things. i just want to say that the universe delivered this at the most divine time. just a couple days ago, i was feeling as if i wish i could have someone like a big sister to turn to, to answer these questions & here you are with so much more than i expected. truly, from the bottom of my heart, i am so grateful for you & that you took the time to read my question, let alone answer in the most eloquent & full way. you’ve helped me so much. thank you, thank you, thank you.

Sara you’re an inspiration. I don’t expect my extended family to help me out either if I end up alone. Prayer is so important, we really aren’t *truly* alone even in our darkest times.

Wow Sara, you talking about finding a motivational speaker when YOU are my motivational speaker. This was amazing and spot on for me as usual with your videos. It gives me goosebumps. I lost my mom first and then my dad too a few years ago so this really hits strong for me. Its so helpful everything you have said and it’s all such a comfort thank you so much 💜

I've been following your channel for a while now and you've made some of the most positive and uplifting videos out there, hearing this is incredibly insightful. I still have my parents but I know for a fact they won't be around forever, especially as I've been living on my own recently the very notion that I have a good support network of family members I still need to make sure that what decisions I make going forward I need to make sure I'm ready and prepared with the right knowledge with what to do next. I'm sorry that you lost your parent so early and it can feel really heavy when you are still in your youth and you don't have the encouragement & support you would normally receive to lift you and motivate you so you can go forward. However hearing this is definitely a wakeup call, but in a way that feels comforting and encouraging enough. Thank you Sara.

This is so good. You speak for so many people that know what it is like to live without parents. You do lose that desire to live & a lot of people will not understand that if they have not experienced it.

I had to click on this. I unexpectedly lost my father the day after this past Christmas, and both my Mom and Stepdad are having their own issues. I wasn't prepared, and I'm still just a bit in shock, and I had some questions I wanted to ask him before this happened, like, 'do you know today you will die, if you refuse to be intubated?' I never got to hear that from my father. I'm almost 51 so I don't need the freedom, but I still wanted to click on this one, I'd really give a lot to get him back. I imagine losing them as a young adult is not the same as when we're in middle age. Losing a parent sucks, no matter when it happens. I remember when you said you lost your second parent, I broke down and cried for you. I still cry a bit every day, partly from the trauma of watching my dad die from no oxygen. My brother and I were there, and it was very difficult to sit through. BUT, If you get the opportunity to be there when your parents, or your pets, definitely your pets, when they go, take that opportunity. It's the last of the last seconds.

I lost grandparent, parents, then husband a year ago. Each was different but there were similarities. My dad took his own life a few years after mom passed of a cancer. So obviously the trauma of both was awful but one was more intense- then my partner- the worst time of my 6 decades. It’s still horrific but a year later less intensely painful. I imagine losing a child would be another level. But B had just turned 60. He wasn’t planning to go 😭😢

Thank you so much Sara for making this video. 🙏 This was so very helpful, it helped me understand how to acknowledge my feelings. It's been so hard to move forward and motivate myself through this process. I thought I wanted this freedom without understanding fully what it truly meant. I'm inspired now to sit here with myself and get into it. 😊 Thank you once again.

My god you’re adorable, genuine, kind and full of light. You are a sanctuary for the soul, and weary travelers of this world. We are all headed into the great unknown, but somehow connecting to certain (rare) people like yourself - along the journey makes it more bearable, more hopeful and sometimes even exiting. The warmth of your Being that comes through in your videos is like sitting by a cozy fire. 🙏💛

Thank u Sara for making this video.🤍 I lost my mum when I was 15 and now 10 years later my dad. While watching this video I felt like we really got into a conversation and you could understand/answer/explain many of my feelings and questions. Navigating in this new world of freedom is not easy and nobody prepares you for it 🎇
