Well done, glad to see you found a mag block that works well! I like the Doan brand here, which is issued to our pilots. These blocks can also be cut in half with a hacksaw if you want to place them in a small survival tin, I keep a cut down version in mine. Hope you're well mate!

This company really does make some great stuff. I bought a pack of these back in December and love them. Gave one to the wife, keep one in my fire kit, and Ranger banded one to my Mora Black. Awesome review bro.

Nice review mate. I always used a fire block ( as they where called then ) when in the Army many moons ago mate. I got a fire going a few times in very adverse weather conditions mate, was one of the few that managed to as i had a fire block, the lifeboat matches in the rat pack brew kit you find are not what they are cracked up to be. So when i started to get back into Bush crafting, it's not a surprise i wanted a fire block ! Hands up here, yes i did get one from China, couple of three quid mate, and lesson learned. Poxy thing was crap, I prolly have more magnesum in one of my farts after a few beers and a Donna Kebab mate. I broke the rod off it as that worked to put in a small fire starting kit. I found the three fire blocks from the Swede lad on Amazon, i think it was something like a tenner for 3 of them, they had very good reviews so i bought them. I am more then happy to say they work mate and are just the same quality as issued to the Armed Forces. The Swede lad that sells them does have a very good customer service as well I have since bought a few things from him ( bush box stove) Why buy three of them ? Well it's all about using what you have on you at the time. I have one in my smock, one in a smallish fire starting kit on my belt along side my knife and first field dressing, the other in a back up fire starting kit in my bergen mate. I do have a fire steel yes, but it's the magnesium that you scrap off that will get the tinder ( even if it's damp) alight ad you showed in your demo mate. I would also be happy to recommend this set to anyone if they had not tried it as yet mate. Be safe

Hey Foggy! Great review and demonstration of the fire starter. I use to play around with the Coleman brand for a while, they were not the best quality, but still functioned. I still keep them in kits. Like you said these are really good in a wet environment. Take Care/ Stay Safe - Stan
