When the probes are stacked perfectly, the biggest giveaway to me in the glowing blue contrail behind them. It is much bolder, and more opaque then that of a single probe. (then again you also have to actually look at the probe as it passes your own probe)
that first game's punchline was amazing. 2:18 The easiest way to tell a stacked probe from a single probe, is the particle effects of the probes movement. The little tail of energy that comes out of the back is much brighter when its a stacked probe.
Oh Pig, you had me rolling with laughter at the end explaining how Mitchy wanted to type those mean words, but chose not to. Like you said, we all know he wanted to, but didn't. lol, Mitchy is a good one.
that Mitchy v printf early game up to 7min gametime so far is one of the MOST stressful situation I've actually FELT in a LONG TIME and i haven't played and LMAO i CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ALSO SAW BUMFIGHTS ALL THE WAY IN AUSSIELAND THAT IS A HILARIOUS USA UNDERGROUND VID that you described 100% accurately, "you KNOW its wrong but omg I CAN NOT LOOK AWAY!"
PrintF is a Giga Chad, but to fall for the Florencio special, I'm rock hard! I'm just a teenage mermaid baby, swimming through sewers lately, oh woo woo wa baby!
unfortunately, to realize, you have to see it. A lot of the time, all you see is the blip on the mini map, while your workers cross paths - and you don't actually see the trail until it is too late.
That was wild!! Loved it! And yeah, completely agree on the fast forwarding, most caster videos are great, but too long too watch for someone with somewhat of a job and life.
Game 2 was epic af! It's like watching a GSL finals, and it's game 7! Hats off to Mitchy for defending that brutal onslaught, I was rooting for him all the way.
Losing to cannon rushes is... a special kind of awful. It's super scoutable, and yet: It kills players. It's like if you haven't played for awhile, and forget the DT timing and... suddenly there are invisible men killing you. Or you hop into a team game for whatever, and early game pressure doesn't happen, and the viking fleet just... lands on a mineral line and it's like "whelp, they are done". And then it starts to make sense why there are players that cheese all game, every game in that scenario.
@@formes2388 Even if scouted, the skill required to counter it is far more important than the one to do the cheese. On one side you only control a probe (or two), on the other end you have to manage your workers and you base. For a low level players it's a big difference. And when they don't commit or fake it, you lost so much mining time it's not possible to come back. As a Zerg, as you can't wall off, they have easy access to your main as well. I prefer by far bunker rushes as they are really more fair....
the pylons in the mineral line were absolutely VITAL to keeping him in it. had he not done that i fully believe 2 immortals would've made it as well as doing what you said with force field
The part I like the most about this game is when it throws new challenges at me and as you noticed, it is interesting to see chaos bringing GM players into plat league territory reactions. I am wondering if there would not be a way to create a competition where this kind of things would be forced a bit more? Maybe with some randomness in the maps that can't be prepared beforehand, forcing the players to be creative (and careful)?
protip for catching stacked probe rushes: look at the blue tail the probe leaves behind. for a single proble it's a faint blue trail. for stacked probes its a BRIGHT light. very obvious if you know to look for it
Probe stack is easy to see. Its the blue tail that gives it away. Its more the fact it looks like one on the mini map, and if its seen, it is glanced at and attention goes back to something else.
I don't mind fast-forwarding, but I find jump-cuts to be very jarring. There's a lot of SC channels I don't follow due to clipping everything up to just the "action" and then I have no sense of how the game is actually flowing.
@@jkkim6928 I meant for himself. Would I play that on repeat for years for no other reason than to entertain the viewers? Far too big of a commitment, unless I would make significant money out of it.
Eh, cheesy games can be quite fun and dynamic, low economy, high micro focus and lots of freedom in your response. I could see how he’s still having fun with it
@@dpend Fun and dynamic? Play some of those on the ladder, then track the % of games where they will curse you with all kinds of language. Hell, they sometimes do that for even normal games, I can't even imagine.
9:45 Mitchy should have target only the gateway that was blocking his mineral patch with his 2 zealot and already send his 2 stalker accross the map. Instead he lost lot of time destroying useless building and lets printF build his defense. I says that but i would never had survive as long as he done!! Really GG to both players!!
Imagine playing the ladder and you run into Florencio, then PrintF, then uThermal doing one of his "lololol" builds. That sh would make you uninstall immediately.
I totaly get those feelings:). I feel so tilted when i defend the first ~30 seconds of the canon rush and then i still loose , its as if i i was robbed of something I deserved (silly feeling but its how it is):)
7:15 - When at the freaking 7 minute mark no one has built anything in any natural expansion while BOTH are battling over building rights in the same base no one can complain about being excited Can you send these to WinterStarcraft? Hopefully he hasn't seen this insanity yet
Question : why do the pros dont just full wall their base if they know cannon rush is coming? Then just get your first stalker Isnt it an esy defense then?
The resources for full wall isn’t there, also the build time. If you full wall you lock yourself in and can’t defend the cannons that will go up in your natural. Go try to do a full wall.
one thing I don't understand about probe rush is uh... why does it work??? Like, ok here he wasn't watching, but why would it ever work if the person is paying attention? shouldn't they have more probe at home than the opponent is bringing? since they've been probbing this whole time the time it takes to traval and the probe rusher doesn't even bring everything. like, numerically shouldn't it heavily favor the defender? I get that you can probably one shot a probe with the initial hit but is that really sufficient?
The reason cannon rushes work is the cannon rusher is sitting on 16 mining probes and still making more. Meanwhile you’re using your probes (not mining) to fight off the pylons and cannons and gateways. While you’re chasing an enemy single probe with 5 of your own, the other 7-10 are killing pylons and cannons. And you still having done any mining. You’re severely behind eco when you finally hold it. Sometimes a cannon finishes and starts killing.
8:00 eh Mitchy was doing so well but then screws up royally (not sure how/why) but sending all his zealots to attack that pylon and cannon -that only 2 zealots would be able to reach- while he leaves his probes completely undefended and unmicroed vs the opponent's zealot harassment.
And in my opinion his second mistake (aside from limited micro) was keeping probes on gas when he was starved for minerals and knowingly far behind on economy. And third mistake was killing the gateways in his base when they were useless to the opponent. He should have sent out his units on offense to put stress on the opponent and scout. He would have had 2 zealots and 2 stalkers heading out at 6m45s which would have been able to take out the pylon powering the cannon (because it takes 27s to get there and a 7m12s printf had 0 army units, and _just_ starts a stalker right at that moment. Printf would have had to pull probes and would have lost a good chunk of them.
Wanna back you up on the fast forward. Unless you're casting some serious match no need to try and fill time while both players are gearing up for the next phase
second game, can anyone explain why builidng a forge and a single cannon by defending protoss isnt a good strategy to counter all this bs? its simple 300 minerals and perhaps 2 minutes time.
idk why Mitchy went to stargate and not immortal tech for observer and obviously immortals... plus getting a battery or two + ohh, i just heard you were fast fowarding and now he DOES get a robo up ok.
oh no, there's NO NEED TO CALM DOWN - this is the HIGHEST MOST STRESSFUL SITUATION in a PvP the ONLY thing that comes close to this situation is a ZvZ early zerg rush into a ling v ling/bane into a ling/bane vs line/bane all in...
i know its bm and usually i hate bm but mitchy just staying is something i felt with my heart. jsut being drained from that game and watching your empire fall after you put everything in it.
