Totally understand the frustration! Just want to add my 2 cents that your hero reviews are always the ones I look forward to the most - to be honest I assumed that the reason Bishop and Magik videos came a bit later was because you were making sure to deep dive into them rather than rushing something out with only a couple of plays. Even if the videos come late I love watching them all!

VT, I love your content. You seem like such a cool guy, and I'm sorry you're dealing with burnout. I think the answer is simple: you need to flip down to your alter-ego form and recover. Maybe have some Down Time in your Crew Quarters. And then maybe someday you'll feel like it's Game Time again, and then flip back up to the hero that we all know and love.

Everything you've said here is super reasonable. Your videos are by far my favorite Marvel Champions content on RU-vid. If you go down to one video a year, I'll still watch it. Hopefully, it gets easier to produce some content, but if not, i still appreciate everything you have done up to this point.

As someone who does niche game content (on a different channel); I really get how you feel about this. I'm in an constant scrabble to keep up with stuff, I live on an island, so I get delays etc etc. I can really sympathise with this situation. However, I can write this with certainty. I've not watched other content creators for MC in the period you've been unable to talk about AoA because it is your videos and opinions I've been waiting for most of all. Be as regular or irregular as you like, I'm here for them when they arrive because I love the deep analysis style you have.

I can't speak for everyone, but personally, I find your analysis to be uniquely valuable. I don't mind having to wait for your videos when there's a shipping issue. When your hero videos pop up, I never worry about the number of videos I've already seen on that hero; I'm excited to hear what you have to say because I know it's going to be different from what any other creator has said. You've filled a ToneeTales shaped hole in my RU-vid feed; nobody else is doing deep-analysis videos like yours. So thank you for the work you've put in, and I look forward to any videos you produce in the future.

This is a great video you have put out and an important one. I find it disappointing that FFG doesn't work more with content creators to get product to them a bit earlier, or easier. Especially content creators that may have a harder time getting that content. Also with the money thing, I think content creators should never worry about asking for money. You provide an amazing service and should be rewarded for it. You create fantastic videos. But I do agree I think people don't realize how much time the content creator puts in for how much they get back. Yes, we love the game and do it for the love of the game but also, we want to make things better, more interactive, a better product and that takes (usually) a lot of up front cost.

Became a member on this account because I had google credits, but I've been a a long time subscriber on my main. I honestly feel like your videos are one of a kind, and when I come to your channel, I don't come looking for the new hotness, I come for the deep, analytical, "nerdy" videos. Analysis is timeless, a deep-dive on a hero kit or effective resource usage or any other topics are just as relevant a day after an expansion release as a year after. I thoroughly enjoy your calm demeanor and your way of thinking about the game, and I'm astounded by the effort put into your videos. Some of your content fills a very obvious hole in the MC content creation scene. My particular favorites are the ones that offer a very holistic view of the state of the game as a whole. Videos like "What we need in Wave 8", the hero evolution one, the Wave 7 retrospective are truly the unique discussions I feel like we should be having about the game to enjoy it on an even higher level. I play the game myself, so I don't particularly need gameplay videos, and while hero previews and reviews are nice, especially as a way to hype myself up before a release, I really feel like your other videos are the ones with a lot of added value. I feel your videos offer very unique perspectives and ways of thinking about this product that we all collectively invested so much money and time into, and they really elevate my enjoyment and investment in the game to a higher level. I might be in the minority, or maybe it's just the algorithm that much prefers periods of big hype, but to me it's completely irrelevant whether it takes you a day or 3 weeks to drop a video about new content, because I know in the end I will get a great, thorough and well-thought out video that offers a deep dive unlike any other. I understand that motivation can be hard to gather, especially for ranking every hero in every aspect at all player counts :D, but I personally I'm just happy to see when you drop a new video, as I know it will be worthwile content. I hope the patreon and memberships will help a bit with the channel, and good luck going forward!

Sorry to hear this, I have only been playing Marvel Champions for a few months now. And if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been so passionate about it. I'm following your buyers guide, and it's been so good! I've got Dr Strange, Captain America, Wasp, Venom and now Scarlet Witch. But I can empathise with you on how your moods are. I'm also feeling that dread, and it's more my depression. But you have to do what's best for you! You've been invaluable to helping me start my journey.

I'm excited that you'll still be around, even if slowing down content. Having a further vision for improvement on the channel is a good sign for all of us that really enjoy your insight and the topics you bring up. Hopefully this shipping issue gets resolved soon.

VillainTheory you’re awesome for the community. I’ve been playing MC from the beginning and Tonee Tales was one of my favorite RU-vidrs in the beginning. Loved his stuff. It was a sad day for me when he decided to take a step back. However you definitely filled the void and then some. There’s not many days go by that I don’t click on your channel to see if you’ve posted anything. I understand that the delays can be frustrating. I’ll be supporting your channel as much as I can. I can empathize with your frustration! I'm a loyal VT🎩fan so I think I've watched pretty much all over your videos over the course of time, not *just* when they come out with new content. One of my favorite parts of your videos is not exactly the new releases but ones that kind of discuss the game, characters, deck building etc as a whole. I know how hard it is when your past time and favorite hobby can turn into work, we can all be swept up in trying to staying relevant, numbers, and algorithms. It feels silly to complain about, but it really can have an effect on our mental health. My best advice is just to make videos that you enjoy as you feel inspired to make them, that will help with burn out and the weird sense of pressure all this can bring on a creator. You do you, I'll be excited about your thoughts on Iceman whether they come out today, or a year from now. Xo Take good care of yourself and looking forward to whatever comes next.

Sorry that the shipping delays are killing your motivation. I'd recommend you just do the content just because you enjoy the game knowing you have a following that will listen to your content no matter what... me that is. I believe you've done a great job filling in the vacuum that ToneeTales left behind. I was ardent viewer of his and I also looked forward to your comments on his videos. I can forgive you for loving protection so much ;) I'll be here so long as I continue to play that game. You've got great content! Keep it to what you enjoy and not stress over the views :) I do enjoy your reviews, but I actually prefer your more detailed analysis about different aspects of the game and your podcast with Nelson.

First, glad to hear you are feeling better and more energetic! I also used to watch Tonee Tales, and I think your content is just as great as his, if not better! Don't feel too pressured to get out content at a pace that makes it less enjoyable for you, I'll watch it even if it comes out a bit later on. A thought about how you could access Iceman and other MC content earlier if things keep being delayed, the Steam game "Tabletop Simulator" has a workshop mod called "Marvel Champions: Hitch's Table" which has everything added very quickly after release. Iceman was already added on May 18 actually. Once you learn Tabletop Simulator's controls and shortcuts (i.e. exhausting, drawing, shuffling, etc) and all of the scripted helpers in the mod, it is an amazing way to play Marvel Champions! Just thought I would let you know of this option since the delays have stressed you out a bit.

You do great work and not only filled the TT void, but this blossomed into the channel I trust the most to know which cards to start the deck-building process for any given hero. Best of luck as this evolved for you, and I hope you find joy in doing this and can still relish just playing the game without any production pressure

I thought maybe I would suggestion a type of video that I would appreciate that I think would be relatively little time invested for you but still have a high demand: Since you specialize in deckbuilding in my mind, why not take a deck you've been playing recently that you enjoy and then just make a video about that deck. Make it a goal to do the video in basically one take by just laying out the deck on your table and talking about that deck and how it's meant to be played. Then you could do a follow up video where you play a game or two using that deck. You could then get two videos out of it with relatively low effort. I would tend to think you would enjoy this process because then you'd be doing what you love without tons of editing and pre-planning. This is actually what I thought about doing until you and Web Warrior started producing videos because I just wanted a place where people could see and discuss decks on RU-vid. In any case, thanks for all you do!

I love you. Your work is amazing. I've watched all your videos, some several time, including the deck building series you did with nelson on his channel. . Your videos are timeless, because they are not based on hype or surface level impressions. The algorythm feeds on "new hotness", and I understand that can be depressing for you. I hope you don't hurt yourself, health is invaluable. Take time to recover, and I will be here if you chose to come back, even if it is one video every now and then. Quality > everything. On topic of Villain/encounter cards. I actually do think this is very undertalked topic, even on channel specialized on encounter cards, it is always surface level. I see people use random generator for combining modset and scenario, and that is depressing to me. I analyze villain kit, exactly like I analyze hero kit, and I analyze mod set, like if they were aspect cards for villains. There are some very interesting combination to make between villain and mod set, there are also silver bullet to counter them, and there are also some mod sets that can break peculiar scenario. There are no solid video about the Encounter cards, and all the hard work the design team put into them, and that is sad. This said, take care of yourself. I wish you the best; you're the best, and we love you.

Hopefully you're already getting a lot of positivity, but I just wanted to throw mine in too. Even if they're late, your fans still seek out your videos because they enjoy the content you provide. Your analyses provide a unique take that doesn't otherwise exist in MCLCG space in my opinion. I can only speak for myself, but I personally would be sad to lose your perspective on the game, it's new releases, deck builds, etc. I do really wish Fantasy Flight/Asmodee did a better job of working with content creators, but (and I'm sure this commiseration doesn't actually help any) in some ways your experience is consistent with other, non-content creator, players. Even as Americans, A buddy preordered Iceman and still hasn't gotten him (at time of writing 5 days after release) and I personally purchased the pack through the Asmodee store on release day, and have not received Iceman. So we definitely feel your pain, it appears to be a larger Asmodee problem. I don't know how seriously FF/Asmodee takes the concerns of content creators, but hopefully you all can lend your voices to videos like this one to help put pressure on the companies to get their act together when it comes to shipping and fulfillment. All-in-all, I love your content and I think you have awesome video ideas that I personally would love to see! The YT "game" is a bit of a pain, and I hope it doesn't get you too down.

I love your hero analyses, I know you said they were a little harder on you but they really help me get through my day at work haha. I put them on and listen and sometimes listen on repeat. I would love to see those sorts of analyses for older heroes! I don't always get the newest heroes right away(I still haven't bought X-23 and Deadpool). I can't wait to see all the incredible ideas you have for videos!

Ive stressed myself out over the hobbies i enjoy. We put a lot of undue stress on ourselves. I can imagine the frustration of being late to the party with content. That being said, i always enjoy your videos whether its day 1 or whenever. I hope you find a mental space to be able to make things when you want to make them and without the stress of "keeping up with the hotness". Also, i love your input in the monthly podcasts.

My wife is playing one of the decks from your Iron Man video and loves it. She is new to the game and already appreciates how tough it is to construct a fun hero deck after some bad experiences with poorly constructed decks. Let me just tell you, that I totally understand the frustration (but I don't know anything about how youtube works), still even when people put out their videos about Marvel Champions usually an hour long videos I don't even have time to watch it whole and I get so behind watching videos because there are so many and I just don't have the time. So it's really ok if your videos come a little late it's totally fine with me. Even in my country we get heroes delayed so why would I even watch a video if I can't play the video myself?! :D Either way, love your content, love your accent and I wish you all the best!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and being so vulnerable about your struggles. I wanted to start off by saying that I love your content and appreciate what you do here. I don't know if you have a Steam account, but on the game platform Table Top Simulator has some really good Champions mods. It might be worth playing on that platform as you wait for the physical copies to arrive. (I'll do that at times.) The interface is annoying but it can be a way to play the full game and research for your analysis videos. Regarding the US Postal Service, it has a really interesting history. Some short points follow. It is mandated by the US Constitution that the US has a federally funded postal service. For the longest time, it was relatively amazingly run. Recently, though, conservative members of the government have sought to break the USPS monopoly over mail by adding new laws to make it less efficient. Global shipping issues of course adds to the challenges of shipping overseas. Regardless if you continue to make content or not, you have helped build a community around a game that lives or dies by its community. You have plenty to be proud about. Excited to see what you do next.

I watch a lot of you, Nelson, D20, and WWF. I almost feel the pressure to watch all the preview and review videos you all put out, so I can sort of understand you feeling pressure to make those videos. Personally, because of all the other content creators, I don’t need another preview video or another review video from you. Don’t get me wrong, you do a great job with those, but there is enough of that content for me to get by with. Your unique skill is in deck building. I don’t think I am very good at deck building and I have had so much fun playing with decks you have created and sometimes making adjustments to my play style. And that doesn’t always have to be with the latest hero release. I love the older hero decks with the latest card pool also. I my opinion, you are an invaluable resource to the community in this regard. You have great decks on MCDB, but your videos on these are even better where you explain how the deck works and the theory behind it. No pressure, but hopefully you will continue to find motivation to keep to keep making this kind of content in the future. I’m sure I am not the only one who gets a lot of joy and benefit from your unique skills in this game.

I understand your frustration but as far as I am concerned I am not jumping on each of the new packs & boxes so if your analysis come few weeks later, I will still watch every single of your contents which are by far the most analytical & detailed. I love your videos, and as most of the folks below have said, the timeliness of them isn't important to me - I watch the creators I enjoy listening to and watching over the ones who release information the fastest, so I'm always going to watch your videos when you make them! That being said, it's important that you are enjoying your videos when you make them, because it is a labor of passion, so make sure you are taking care of yourself and not letting this passion project detract from your love of the game, your daily joy, or pulling you away from other important things in your life. Hi VT, big fan here. I would say your content on YT and Shadows of the Cast are my favorite Marvel Champions media to consume! D20 is close though! I think your concerns are super valid, and I'm sorry to hear the release schedule has been hurting not just your channel's ability to gain views and subscribers, but your mental health as well. I hope you know your fans appreciate you a ton. I will say this: there's no arguing with the numbers, but set reviews are absolutely my least favorite sort of content. Everyone does them, and it typically feels like an initial response to the cards, which doesn't interest me personally. I like to play what I call a "block progression" mode where I play every hero in a block vs every villain. As a result I'm still working through the first X-Men wave against all of Mutant Genesis and Mojo. So even though I own everything I'm months behind what's being released in terms of play. So, for me, I love your videos that dig into more of the older content in the game and link it to data and trends across the entire product line. I hope maybe you'll focus more on that sort of content, for example I love the revisited faction episodes of the podcast! I think there's so many great topics still left to explore without chasing the new release segment, and I think that's where your content really shines most. I will for sure be joining the patron to try and help support your stuff. VillainTheory, stay strong, never give up and never surrender. Take time to recuperate, and then adapt as needed. I watched Tonee Tales for the devoted MC content until he retired from it, and now it's you (and some of d20's takes when he isn't Valkyng it up, lol). If you would rather film gameplay videos, do that. I come here for deep-dive analysis and I don't care about the delays. Do what you need to to keep the game alive and fun for yourself, because the game's life cycle isn't stopping anytime soon and the community is devoted. Thanks for all you have given to us, the time has not been wasted.

I really enjoy your content as well. I don’t think there are other content creators that dive as deep as you do. Most are much more superficial. Also, if things are delayed in the UK, are you open to printing cards out and just putting the prints in sleeves and playing that way until things arrive?

Never knew CDB was hostile to creators, but I guess I usually just look at decks and maybe scout a few comments before modifying and taking it for a spin. I'm really bumed to hear that, because I don't interact with the community a ton, but its all been neutral to positive for me so far. Based off the comments I've seen I doubt I'll contribute anything new, but hope it may help anyway. I watch a couple of contributers in the space, and you are the only one I always pick something up from. I'll usually pick something up I overlooked from everyone, but not always, and you always find something I missed, which I appreciate a lot. Plus, you usually also respond to your comments rather than just liking them. I don't begrudge the others for doing so, responding to 30 comments, even with a few lines has got to be exhausting, especially with actually thinking it through like you do. I have 3 kids and a wife that can't work so I totally understand prioritizing RL over a channel, especially as you said in such a small niche. But I love your content and you are the first person I look for from the content contributors, so I hope to still see a fair amount more from you in the future. Definitely understand your frustrations and so little return for so much time can only come out of love, obviously, and you have to prioritize what makes sense for your life. Hope I still get to see a lot from you, but best wishes and prayers to you either way. Glad to hear your health is improving as that's probably the biggest quality of life improvement you can have. Hi VT, I completely agree with this, I haven't watched almost any MC content since AOA came out as I don't want to ruin the first experience of the villains. What annoys me more is the lack of communication from FFG about the release. I get delays, but tell us about it. You content is great and I'll still be watching.

I would love gameplay videos. Also any analysis video. I have been hoping to see a video talking about how to heal and protect hero’s outside protection aspect or without chump blocking. I would also agree the MC RU-vid community is the best. The Reddit community sadly has issuses with a large group that has a very specific idea of what should or should not be there

Sincerely, even if you're not necessarily the first reaction video put out about a new product, I've come to think about your videos as close to a final word as we'll ever get.

You really need an alternative acquisition method (aka. A USA brick and mortar store that ships it to you before official day). Your frustration is quite reasonable. Me on your place, it would have been torture.

The game (and life) is to be enjoyed. If you did 1 video a year I would watch it. You have enough value to the community you would still be appreciated just deckbuilding on marveldb, or just joining Nelson or someone for a podcast or discussion as and when it suits you. Look after yourself and your needs first. Do as much content creation as you enjoy and are comfortable with, even if that is nothing.

Best ways to take care of your vocal chords in order of importance. 1. Training from a voice coach. 2. Drink lots of water. 3. Increase gain on the microphone and speak less loud.

Love your content. I know it’s not the same but I would watch a video where you pull up marvelcdb and did first impressions of the cards and give us a tease of the decks you are going to build and test. I know you like to do more in-depth survey but those first day videos are all first impressions anyway. Your first impressions will be more spot on than a lot of others.

Solution: digital play / proxies irl. I’m sure you’ve considered this, but just putting it out there. As someone with a similar sized channel, I know how difficult it is to put out a video and get hundreds instead of thousands of views. It’s a matter of knowing that part of why you make content is for yourself. Best of luck. Also, if you want to experiment with a different game, I have been loving SWUnlimited. PvP brings a major bigger community.

It's okay if you don't feel like it's worth going on the channel, but I sure hope you do, you're great!

I absolutely get you, just a few things not aligning as they should can completely throw one off something they were really engrossed in - especially if it involves missing out on fun enjoyed by your community. On the other hand, since it's not just your country being hit by delays, you can probably hope to garner attention from other people in the same situation. Not to mention, these reviews, at least from my point of view, consist only a small part of the content you produce. Considering how there'll be less MC stuff to talk about this year, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to make up the difference in the drought months, thanks to high quality of the videos you make. However, if you need some time off, that's always a wise decision - you need to take care of yourself in the first place.

As someone living in a part of the world that doesn't get access to new releases as quickly, I do appreciate the odd youtuber who isn't flooding his channel with Iceman content.

Bro, I feel your pain. I am also based in the UK and have to wait so I can enjoy new heroes. This happens all the time with MCTCG. I remember waiting for War Machine for over 6 weeks before I could get it. To be honest, I personally don't care how long after the official release you published your video. I watch your videos because I value your opinion, and you cover topics that are not the meta, as I find meta decks boring. If you need a break for your personal physical and mental health, please do take a break. Health is most important.
