I bought my G80 back in June, don't think I'll ever get tired of looking at it or driving. Had to get the V6, couldn't see the point of the 4 cylinder.
Great overview, thank you. You can sense how smooth the ride is by the fact that the camera never shakes or vibrates during the interior driving segment.
I hadn’t seen in other videos that the G80 has ambient interior lightning. Thought that was only in the GV series. Very cool. I LOVE genesis’ designs and what they’re doing. Insane cars.
Your channel recently popped into my reccomended, and i must say. The quality is absolutely incredible. I won’t be suprised when you have over 1 million subscribers next year.
I'm fairly obsessed with the new G80, but the Sport trim coming sometime next year. I was basically just trying to decide on a color and was leaning towards the new Cavendish Red, but this grey color is amazing. That with the red leather would be 🔥.
I like that they are a luxury brand that's finally doing something unique and bold. The German cars, as much as I love them start to look boring and vanilla after so long. I think the G80 has more style and presence than anything it competes with.
I must say I like how you review, your "style" so to speak. Calm, no shouting, no fuzz.......I like that. And during the review I understand that you pretty much like the same things about a car that I do. That moment when your driving and you say you would rather not do the review, but just enjoy the ride. I can so relate to that....:) And the statement that you'll never even ride in sport mode cause you enjoy the comfort mode....= spot on.

I had the opportunity to chat with Ian a couple of weeks ago about how you two thoroughly enjoy giving what your doing (and it shows) ...and that was enough to check out the Genesis product. .I just picked up my GV80 this morning largely based on your reviews of the GV70 and GV80 a month ago. Keep up the great work you guys!
At the end when you mention the start/stop AC - that's a huge issue for folks who live in warm climates year round. Out here in Arizona, you want your AC on full blast no matter what. It's nice that you brought it up as that's a definite dealbreaker for someone like me.
I so wanna get this car but I feel like I don't wanna drive it as much as I wanna ride in the back seat and feel the comfort. I don't know of its a good choice for a new couple to get. Or maybe get a stinger?
Could be wrong; but on virtually all production cars, the quarter panel windows and sunroof are actual glass. So that's not really a selling point. The grill is a bit unwieldy, but nice looking car still.
I just found out about this model. I am looking to wait for the sport model of it. Hopefully you will be reviewing it too! It'll help me decide between this and a BMW 540i
I own a '08 GS350 & this truly looks like it's successor, in terms of design & the way it looks. Would love to own this beauty some day. Also, someone mentioned this in another video, the grille & headlights makeup the Genesis logo. 😅
It's good to see a company still making actual cars. I'm single, have absolutely no use for a station wagon (aka suv) and love the luxury and quality of this brand.
Regarding the door unlock feature. My G80 has settings that can allow one door or all four doors to unlock with one press of the fob or lock control on the handle.
This will be a Car of Mine. 3.3T of course. Also you guys are in Ontario Canada...Subscribed, giving me the info i need as a Canadian..Hopefully we'll run into each other one day.
You need to take something for that "Mercedes Benz cough" :o) Again, a fantastic review and you actually show the car better than any Genesis website that I just visited. When you are sitting in the backseat, it looks like the G80 could be an "L" since you seem to have an abundance of legroom.

The Genesis is definitely a well sorted out car, as Hyundai hired BMW and Audi top technical folks, who made quite an impact on the overall design, performance and quality of the product line. However, no matter how hard Hyundai tries , and admirably at that, it will still suffer the stigma of the "Hyundai" monika , Genesis or not, it's still a Hyundai. Same as Acura and Lexus. If it's trying to attract buyers who are hard core owners of BMWs, Audi's, Jaguar, Mercedes, it's going to be challenging. And not to forget, those who currently own Lexus and Acura, they will also probably not readily jump over to the Genesis brand at this point in time. The Genesis is a really well made car, but it IS ultimately a Hyundai, who made the econo boxes like the Pony. So the main task for Hyundai, is to slowly chip away at the "econobox" image and find a way to raise it's luxury image with the Genesis. Renaming a brand will not immediately turn it into a well accepted luxury brand, It needs to somehow completely separate itself away from it's parent company, have it's own parts and factories, and own management.

Once they get the car into it's own dealerships....their sales will increase exponentially. Personnel at Hyundai Dealerships lack the laid back consultative technique needed to sell these cars. That's why you can't buy a Lexus at a Toyota dealer. Toyota salespeople are typical over the top types. Lexus is another experience entirely.
If only they had dealers. I absolutely love my G80 but will never but another Genesis again until they build dedicated dealers. I have had terrible service experiences at both Hyundai dealers in my area. They are even subpar compared to the Chevy, Honda and Nissan dealers in the area. They can't touch the Acura, Lexus and Mercedes experiences. You pay a premium for high end luxury but you have to deal with the thrift store for sales and service.
If you have this, you definitely have a...grocery getter... 😁 perhaps it's too gouache to call it that but...yes, definitely if you're buying one of these you've got a 2nd and likely 3rd car for hauling crap...or hauling stuff, guess upper middle class people don't have crap, per se...😁
So does Genesis pay for the accidents when you're cruising with your hands on the seat ? Cruise control beyond speed control should be outlawed. The drivers job is to drive, not rest.
8:04 hey, easy on the door, dude! 8:20 sunshades?!!? gauche, tint the windows, sheesh. 10:38 the reason that speaker is so big and so high is because there are 3 speakers in the door. a tweeter up above the armrest. you were knocking the midrange. the woofer is 'down low'. this is the optimum setup. having all three drivers close together aids in the _soundstage_ presentation. i can't take anymore...... i'm out.
