2022 Genesis GV70 Review // Nearly Perfect Luxury SUV 

The coolest thing about this channel is that I feel like I am just hanging out with my old friends and talk about cars with them when I watch these videos

These intros are the reason why I come to these guys before I watch the sea of videos from the other reviewers.

“The beauty of white space” is Korean traditional metaphor meaning empty or plain space is beautiful. It is better to call “beauty of empty space” The reason why white is old Korean painters did’t filled colours in background of their paintings . Rather, just left it white making it simple, humble and comfy. Think about iPhone white.

I totally agree with Thomas “they’re no longer an underdog” so we can hold them to higher standards, which they are matching. I’m really hoping they bring a true performance version (N/Rspec/ whatever they choose to call it) to truly rival the germans. Good job Genesis!!!

The problem I'm having with Genesis is that how do they expect me to pick one of their cars when all of them are so bloody good.

Honestly the looks and interior of the gv70 is just so much better than the rivals... It looks absolutely stunning

Bought a GV70 3.5T in early November 2021. It's an excellent vehicle - very happy with it. My first foray in to luxury SUVs, and so far I'm not disappointed. A couple things to note: If considering the smaller 2.5T four cylinder engine, don't worry about any meaningful difference in performance from the 3.5T. I test drove both, and I really couldn't tell the difference in driving power. The smaller 2.5T makes more noise, but is no less athletic. And, it costs much less, and gets better gas mileage. The reason I went with the larger, more expensive 3.5T is because I wanted the option package with the electronically controlled suspension, as well as the option package that included the matte green finish (which looks awesome). I value quiet and smooth, so wanted the less noisy engine and the smoother suspension. All in all, really pleased. I don't like the German vehicles, purely because of the nasty repair costs. One thing to beware of: you're buying this luxury Genesis in a most-decidedly un-luxury Hyundai dealership. If you demand a white-glove dealership experience like Lexus, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc., you will NOT get that at the Hyundai dealership.

I picked mine up 2 weeks ago and I love the thing. Makes me happy every time I step in it. Went from a G80 Sport and I don't think I'll step away from the Genesis brand if they keep it up and keep getting better.

I just fell in love with GV70's interior. It's the best car interior I ve seen.

This show is so good. Its like a better Top Gear that actually gives consumer advice! Just great

That interior has a hint of Bugatti in it. Simple , Elegant, Gorgeous

I like this GV70 a lot. Quite frankly, I think it has more than enough horsepower for me. Personally, I think there's too much emphasis on horsepower and how quick or fast a lot of these vehicles are nowadays. The average purchaser of a sport ute, luxury sedan or truck will NEVER push their vehicles to their full potential. Hell, it takes the average driver close to freakin' 30 seconds or more just to get to 45 MPH from a stop at a traffic light.

This has to be best all rounded, gorgeous midsize cross over period.

My boss ordered one and we went 2 weeks ago to test driver it and it's an amazing suv. It drives so nice. He got the sport plus with all the bells and whistles. He trade his 2016 750i , and he was amazed. He can't wait to get it in September.

That interior is just to die for! Even the color is spot on. Red usually looks quite over-the-top, but this tone is not too showy and even rather pleasing to the eye.

This SUV 🤩 is gorgeous, stunning interior, good work Genesis.

Craziest thing about this is that Genesis is fighting the legendary Merc and BMW in a way that Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Mazda, Jaguar, Cadilac, Linclon, Audi, Range Rover, and Buick can not.

In Korean, 'Beauty of white space' means something like minimalism

As a Lexus driver, I believe my next car will be a Genesis.

I have the fully loaded 3.5 sports prestige. Bought it last Monday. Have ZERO regrets. It is gorgeous inside and out. Absolutely love it.

The whole Genesis lineup actually gets me excited, while other brands have gone dull, each of their cars are exciting for me design wise, both inside and out. More brands should take notes....

Great, balanced, and fair review, and entertaining as usual. You guys have great chemistry and just the right degree of comedy without compromising the standard of review.. you're like a more likeable version of Top Gear (they just got too cynical and obvious in the end).

I’m loving everything that Genesis is doing so far…

Probably one of the only small premium crossovers that has a decent value proposition. BMWs and Mercedes have their place, but they are designed to be ridiculously expensive, this is a good in between. Not to mention that six is sure to be an perfect balance of comfort and performance.

I just got the GV70 Sport Plus and I love it............if you want fuel economy keep it in ECO mode!! This is my fourth Genesis and the brand just keeps improving! Great reviews guys........I have the 3d cluster and it's awesome.

Based on your review and few others I bought my 2023 gv 70 in a sport prestige, and it's a beautiful vehicle inside and out. I just came back from a 5k miles trip and have nothing but good things to say. And their valet services are super handy as well.

You guys do great reviews. Interestingly I wanted to subscribe about a year ago but got your faces mixed up with another pair of reviewers who I didn't want to subscribe to. I'm glad I found this channel again..so I subscribed immediately. Reviewers need to keep personal biases out of the reviews and I respect that with you guys

they remind me of what Infiniti was in the early 2000s. when they brought out the fx and g coupe/sedan. something radical to compete with the Germans

Now that all auto journalists have to wait to release video footage of new cars, they all come out on the same day. This channel has the funnest and most enjoyable content by far! Keep up the great work you two and your team. As per the GV70 itself. I don't understand why people would want to buy an SUV and expect it to be fun to drive. For those who actually NEED the practicality of an SUV, fun to drive isn't really something on their mind because they can't drive enthusiastically if they're actually hauling people and cargo around anyhow. I guess this fits the bill for people who don't actually need SUV but just want it because...GOTTA HAVE SUV!!11!ONE!!

First of all....love your channel. Second, thanks for doing the review. I'm six months into my decked out GV70. I drove five hours to get exactly what I wanted in Silver/Aquamarine blue. I traded up from a '19 G70 3.3T dynamic (too tall for it). Genesis definitely hit a home run with the GV70. I agree with the turbo lag and it could have just a bit better gas mileage. But a phenomenal SUV that looks better than a Macan for much less money. The biggest challenge for Genesis is brand recognition. Last year, they sold 1/20th of what Tesla did because Tesla has a cult following. Nobody knows Genesis after six years as a separate brand. Those that have heard of it still think it's that big sedan made by Hyundai. Their best publicity, unfortunately, is Tiger Woods rolling down a cliff in one.

White space is basically having simplicity/lack of noise and using it to benefit your design and layout. It's something really important in newspapers and apparently car design which is cool to me

I ended up getting this. I think there was something wrong with the unit you had. It does 0-60 in 4.9s and that seems to be what pretty much most other reviewers have seen too. Otherwise great review. I paid the extra for the sport prestige, and am very happy with that decision.

As someone who’s has been eyeing the g70 and normally wouldn’t consider himself a suv person, I want to get this car. Both the interior and exterior look amazing.

This thing is incredible. As soon as I can afford one I’m getting a top of the line fully loaded model with a white exterior and that STUNNING red interior. A truly 10/10 automobile.

I‘d rather have a 3,5L turbo that is a second slower to 100kph than a BMW 3,0 turbo but doesnt break down as soon as the warranty is over lol.

This car is a perfect blend of luxury and performance...My order is placed and now the 6month wait for the 3.5T V6. As for 0-100km/h...other RU-vid reviews have recorded 4.98sec, and low 5's.
