2:40 "...Sono buoys are floating sonar sensors that can be deployed from a ship or aircraft to extend the listening capabilities of ASW forces...". Plus, for the ships, they (as well as the SONAR towed array) allow for listening in the quiet, away from own-ships noise. Though the towed array is primarily for listening away from the noise of the own-ship's screw (propeller), which would otherwise be a "blind spot" for the ship, because of the screw's noise.

Nobody on earth... Can track or find a US Sub... We always trail within 12' behind or under Russian and Chinese subs. They are so loud.... They had no clue.

Can a P8A Poseidon detect a submarine? I believe our country, NZ has four of these planes currently used for search and rescue, maritime surveillance etc

Huh? Well here's a fact, there are Russian submarines that is actually as quiet as U.S submarines. Also, most Chinese SSNs are loud, not so much for their SSKs though.

@@M16_Akula-III I have no idea… I’ve never been on one. I believe it has a powerful radar

@@JenniferA886 RADAR doesn't work in water, in-fact it's only effective for around 50 Meters in water. It uses sonobuoys, basically a hydrophone put on a flotation device that transmit data wirelessly.

Stop pronouncing “buoys” wrongly. It is pronounced “boys” and not your ludicrous “boo-ees”.
