its a vocaloid song, just the kikuohana version is sung by hanatan. theres a miku version though. hanatan is a close friend of kikuo, sometimes he writes music for her and then makes a vocaloid version. red riding hood‘s wolf was written for hanatan and then a vocaloid version was created
Actually it depends on the person. For me it was gommene I think. Not really sure but that's the first thing I think about when it comes to sad shit lol
The music video is seemed very twisted to me, throughout the video she spares less and less people until she spread the 'negativity' or whatever to every single person that passes her, and with a smile. I do agree with the theory of using her baggage for attention and it makes more sense now that I know what the song means
My personal interpretation was that the girl was representative of some disease, (I wasn’t quite taking the lyrics into this interpretation, I was more taking in the visuals). I thought because of the people falling around her and the graveyard, she was the cause of death, misfortune, and misery. I also took in the backpack slightly. I was thinking because the biggest piece kinda looked like a bird head, like birds were the cause of the disease, the originator. Also for (bird) symbolism: A raven (a black bird) is a symbol of death and the masks that doctors sometimes wore during plagues (think the black death), looked like bird skulls. Another thing is the title, “The girl that sells misfortune” meaning she gives misery to people, she carries it around as her ‘wares’. Just my personal interpretation, hope you like my little theory.
Good point! It could also be a reference to gossip/news articles that spread doom and gloom -negativity- to everyone who comes across or reads them. The backpack might also be a representation of the ugliness/misery that people who make gossip columns carry around every time they post a new story. So not only does the story gain lots of attention, but the creator actively profits off of/makes money off of the misery and pain they cause to others (secretly walking around with a smile on their face). Hence the title: The Girl Who Sells Misfortune. Those are just my two cents. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk everybody! ^_^
If u wanna hear more kikuo songs with hanatan singing i really reccomend "keep going keep climbing up the tall tower" It's one of my personal favorites, there's a vocaloid and a hanatan version so just make sure u pick the right one! Great video :)
overall missed you shoosh, but the voice is amazing giving us a different kikuo experience. and the art dude? i mean it never fails but it just got better here
I like the way the song is showing a girl getting bullied is making other people suffer, eventhough she didn't do nothing. It just shows, that people could be selfish and making anything about themselves.
yes yes yes I love Hanatan it's quite rare to see ppl react to her vocals, the hype is real!! Also this song is such a jam I love it🥰 I recommend "Wolf Boy" (also from the kikuohana album) from her it's soooo good and shows her versatility rly well
I thought this song was just like a thingy I did when I was a tiny goblin. I was bullied in this new school because I was the first African American there- and instead of talking to an adult I rained hell on the students and innocent teachers. I made people who cared about me feel bad and believe that innocent teachers and not as horrible as I made out to be students were like monsters. I felt so guilty after I transferred that when my class sent me a letter saying “we miss you” (along with some class photos) I refused to write back… I couldn’t face them after how I hurt them. Every single student in that photo book has had at least one fight with me and I just couldn’t get the thought out of my head. I have grown as a person but now I have different issues- which is basically the opposite of the issues I had when I was terrorizing a class :3 I was a horrible person ✨ but at least I’ve grown to be less horrible ;-; ……yaaaaaayyyyy
Yo. Another thing to take note of all of this that makes me feel like the fan favorite theory holds some merit. The girl is wearing a small smile the entire time. Like, all of this stuff is being thought and said about her, and she's SMILING the whole time.
I just love how creative these songs, the themes and stories they tell are. They always give you something different. Kikuo is so talented, and those vocals are amazing!! Loved your reaction to this. Never knew the meaning of this song as I only listened to it without knowing the lyrics that well.
I personally always interpreted the song to be about a Lady of the Night. They often don't take the job willingly, and yet, they don't have much choice. They are visited by misfortune, bring god knows what STDs to others as well, and yet, maybe she should consider herself lucky that she is visited/earning money at all. She SELLS her misfortune. Adorable, she is supposed to be, yet also pitiful.
Kikuo’s music is always able to give me chills,(more so when I know the English lyrics to an extent, but even just the music is effective) I think it might be the high notes mixed with the loud, relatively robotic music
With a single wish, I hope that Soshite kimi wo Tsuki ni natta, another Kikuo song will be explored someday. It's in about the same era as Gommene Gommene, but it's relatively wholesome considering the channel.
You know, after I watched your reaction of Kikuo’s music, I started to look into it more. Again once again a video where Sooshi’s is reacting to scary stuff that will make him question the sanity of everyone is one of the most entertaining on a Saturday morning.
this specific duo is called kikuohana, when kikuo works with singer hanatan! if you want more creepy stuff and lovely music, i would suggest their song o'light!
If he thinks Hanatan is good in this song his gonna have a heart attack on "O light". If you going to react to it you should listen to both Vocaloid and Hanatan's version.
I'm not kidding I got freaking chills when I heard her voice, It is AMAZING. I'M NOT KIDDING my body literally got chills all over my body. Her singing is so good :O
Woahh this song was so good and how the girl likes being a victim and uses it for her own advantage. Also I noticed how the girl's expression doesn't seem sorrowful too, it almost seems like she's slyly smiling, knowing all the power she has.
this is actually the first time I've heard this but my mind suddenly knows what comes next 💀 shooshimooshi should really listen to coin locker baby tho 👁️
With the mention of Michausen syndrome at the end that makes me think of the vocaloid song Viral by QueenPB maybe you'd wanna check out that song too :D
YES YES YES!! I HAVE BEING WAITING FOR THE REACTION TO THIS SONG SINCE I FIRST SAW HIS CHANNEL WITH HIS REACTIONS TO KIKUO! I think I might ask for it a few times xD It's my favorite Kikuo's song uwu
Recommendation can you watch kikuo cotton candy if you haven’t already :) Random thought I believe In the Japanese culture correct me if I’m wrong mushrooms growing on like a characters head means something that goes with death I learned this with miss wanna die so I believe the bag might have something to do with it idk
For a song with "Misfortune" in the title..when I was on a kikuo binge and listening to this song directly under it was one of shooshi's videos which was how I found this channel so that seems pretty fortunate to me!!😅😅😅
the worst part about this is that I relate heavily to this song. Growing up, I wished I was hurt physically or mentally so I would force illness and sadness onto myself for attention from family and friends. Finding out I had BPD definitely helped for me to grow from this but sometimes I still find myself playing the victim card and surrounding myself in pity.
I always thought the song was a metaphor for... a girl of the night, let's say. They pay for misfortune, who knows what the women of the night all catch during their job. And yet, they could be glad that they can earn money at all, no matter how much they hate it. And so, they sell misfortune. How many STIs are deadly too, after all?
Day 1 of asking you to react to Derivakat. Please, she has AMAZING VOCALS, and the songs are TO DIE FOR!! It's mostly DSMP (Dream SMP), but even a non fan could enjoy her songs! Oh wait, you haven't listened to Emptiness, Emptiness Emptiness of Emptiness? Listen to that as well. Amazing song. Kikuos remaster. Chefs kiss 🤌
Hi dude!So I already seen all of your videos were you react to Kikuo songs and I didn’t find one where you react to “And then you became the moon”,one of my favorites from Kikuo so…I really recomend it ‘cause it has a beautiful tune but has a awfully sad story behind….like always xD And also I found a Vocaloid song called “Shinitagare” that is interesting to me(and it gives me some Kikuo vibes to….) Thanks for doing these content,I love it,and thanks for your time if you read this Have a nice day😊
You should listen to “it’s another maze there” or “urami no waltz” theyre both songs with kikuo and hanatan or kikuohana which is how it’s labeled on kikuos channel
Another Kikuo reaction yaaaaaaay. Kinda unrelated, there is a Miy_yuu cover called "Downer Witch" which was uploaded about 10 months ago, so it wasn't that recent. Still, one of his best covers, you should check it out!
I really love all kikuo and yurica's music videos oh I wanna meet him in Japan even ado and my favorite Japanese singers in the future btw you should react to Pinocchio p songs I can't wait for next Friday on the 21
If you like vocals similar to her voice try listening to the opening of “Another”. Absolutely gorgeous and haunting. But I think you’d like marchin (I don’t know if I spelled that right) a Japanese series of tales based on old fairytales that blend together into a tragic story. My favorite song is “how she became a witch” and “Bluebeard”(or “wife-wives of Bluebeard”) it can go by either 3 titles.
If you think her voice is nice in this one you should hear korokoro korogaru which is also a song produced by kikou! However there is also a hatsune miku version.
Crossing my fingers you react to otetsu some day! There's so many good songs to pick from, but Noraneko is forever my favorite. MILGRAM's songs would be fun, too.
I really hope you listen to XxX Cat from Kikuo one day ! It's my favorite song from them !! (It's not about sex ! I think it's supposed to make a kitty face emoji "XxX" )
Excuse me. This isn't really related to the video itself, but can anyone tell me what song is playing in the background at around 11:25? I've heard it in other shooshiMooshi vids but I didn't know where to find its source. If anyone knows where it came from or what it's called and could tell me, I'd be super grateful. (It also plays at the end as well.)
