This song has a special place in my heart because it was the last song my Father sang to me before he died. Laurie and I had had a bit of a rough time in our marriage about a year before he died, and just before the last time we went to see him, we were having a phone conversation when he asked me how we were doing. I said we were doing better, and that we were both learning how to give and take. That's when he started singing this song to me. That's the last time I ever heard him sing. That's why I wanted to learn this song and share it here on YT. This song is really deep, and there's a lot of wisdom in it. I hope it ministers to someone who needs to hear its message.
You've got to give a little, take a little,
and let your poor heart break a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.
You've got to laugh a little, cry a little,
until the clouds roll by a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.
As long as there's the two of us,
we've got the world and all it's charms.
And when the world is through with us,
we've got each other's arms.
You've got to win a little, lose a little,
yes, and always have the blues a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.
