As a bodysurfer/bodyboarder myself I can't stress enough how mindblowing that first air was. You need titanium balls to even think about attempting something like that.

You're damn straight! He's the best ever! Very fortunate to ride with Mike. Still so smooth and doesn't ride like he's 60.

Mike's a great guy, and I know Terry considers him a friend. I just wish this channel had more bodysurfing footage of Wedge.

luv the wedge when i bodysurfed up until 98/99. there was one time i ate it so bad i landed on the side of my neck, hitting the ocean floor. i still dont know how i didnt break it but...its great to see these videos. appreciate the content.

in the history of our sport there has never been a modern era high performance elite level bodyboarding competition at one of the most iconoc bodyboardig waves in the sports history. Seems strange to say. can it be put together? would only benefit the community.

With all due respect I don`t think you can compare Mike Stewart to Kelly Slater and call him GOAT of bodyboarding. Mike is certainly a great bodyboarder, a pioneer in our sport, and was probably the best bodyboarder in Pipeline for a long time. But unlike Kelly, he won his so-called "world titles" when there was not really World Tour. He won Pipeline titles, which some like to call World titles. It's much easier to be a champion when you only play one game in your home turf.
