The God Maker (HD) | School Reunion | Doctor Who 

Everyone seems to love this episode for Sarah Jane Smith and Elizabeth Sladen, but I truly believe that Anthony Stewart Head as Mr Finch steals the show here. Every interaction with Tennant has the most insane tension and gravitas. He is charismatic and charming yet also cold and terrifying. One of the greatest Nu Who villains. I would love to see Giles and the Doctor team up and kick his ass.

12 got his face from someone 10 helped. 12 got that saying from Sarah Jane: "Everything ends." 10 really stuck with him.

I really like the music here! Never used in another episode I believe

We really need more Mr. Finch. We didn't see him die, bring him back!

Toby Whithouse has this remarkable ability to write some of the show's most compelling villains - even though they only appear for one or two episodes.

I like that there's a possible moment that the Doctor is truly tempted by this

The Skasis Paradigm is one of the best Doctor Who concepts I have seen on television. Loved how the Doctor refused Mr Finch's offer to become a god by, furiously, throwing a chair at the monitor.

God I miss Billie and David. They were such an iconic duo (fashion and personality wise)

This episode was really good. Great introduction to Sarah Jane Smith (from the perspective of the new fans) and a great supporting cast

Is anyone else kinda shocked the concept of a "God Maker" NEVER came up again? How are the Krillitaine the first race to try this? Surely the Daleks would have tried this more than once?

Damn David looks amazing here 😍 and Sarah Jane showing back up with k-9 in tow and Rose and Sarah Jane meeting for the first time. And Sarah Janes Wisdom always shines through in the end. And don’t forget about Giles guest starring! All around a fantastic episode !!

Imagine if the Doctor took control of the God Maker program, became the Time Lord Victorious full time, stared into the raw power of the vortex for a year on gallifrey, and became BAD WOLF... what would that make him?

That moment when you realize this episode is a standoff between the Doctor and evil Giles.

And THIS Scene makes the seeds of Time Lord Victorious be growing

I watched this episode and the best one that they have done I cry at Sarah Jane Smith parts especially the line “Goodbye my Sarah Jane” then the K9 thing and when she sees The Doctor in School where he says “John Smith” I love that episode brings a tear to my eyes she has met 4 incarnations of The Doctor which are Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, David Tennant and Matt Smith i watched some episodes of the Sarah Jane Adventures I said to my family “she was in Doctor Who years ago”

This and two other episode were shown on Freeview channel in the UK yesterday which I was very surprised about still think he and Billie were the best in recent years

Love the fact that this is the temptation of the doctor, and yet it isn’t rose that stops It that will get him to think it’s Sarah Jane who is both conscious and the person he needs at that time. Isn’t it a pity that when she dies and you do that whole remembering 😢her so to speak to Dr. doesn’t show up to join in the memorial service, but Sarah Jane wouldn’t be the first to remind anybody that the doctor can’t stand losing people, and being reminded that everybody dies in fact his own wife, River Song writes that in the book and she knows exactly from the get-go what she’s dealing with I have no doubt at some point in time she had a little chat with Sarah Jean, probably with other of his contaminants, but it would’ve been Sarah Jane of all of them who would’ve told her what she’s always known Joe didn’t get it. She tells her she waited for the doctor à la Wendy from Peter Pan, but not Sarah Jane and Sarah Jane succeeded for most of his companions, never really got, and it could be because she wasn’t fat when you think about it, the longest companion that a doctor ever had. Like I said, she’d be the first not to expect him to show up for her funeral, and I wouldn’t be surprised if river had been hiding somewhere there at the memorial service, watching it all, and wondering if anybody would remember her in the same way as Sarah Jane. And I suppose that’s why river song in many ways was sitting to be the doctors wife, because he always knew that as much as everyone has always loved him as much as she has you can’t expect him to show up and be like expecting the night to not follow the day.

It is Sarah Jane who says it best,” whether it’s a world or a relationship everything has it’s time, and everything ends…” she makes this point long before River Song or Amy and Rory… and she’s the one he hears think about that for a moment or words would be echo many years later or so seems to me by River Song. But just as he was her first teacher, in the end, the student has become the master, and she teaches the teacher, which is how it should be, and why her words sync home into his mind. Rose says nothing this whole time because the truth be told and she were the one Sarah Jane I’m not there she wouldn’t of tried to stop it stop it from happening, so one has to ask the question, if as some speculate that the double ganger/clone of the doctor stays with Rose in her pocket universe, not her area, whatever parallel universe with a piece of the Tardis which apparently can regrow you have to wonder how could they survive? Not if they couldn’t they couldn’t give up on the idea of being like a God. Rose could not answer that she could not tell the doctor anything, because Rose herself could never give up on being in control, in someway of been with him forever to hell with everybody else it’s why she could say nothing and why it had to be Sarah Jane, we know she had a family before adopting Luke, and she had a life before she made Bannerman Road base of operations, and she must’ve lost those she loved and come to the realization through the doctor the fourth doctor, everything has to end everyone dies eventually, and while she might not believe it, or want to believe it, she could because she knows that eventually everyone including him must die… one could end this by saying she’s the angel on his shoulder. If the other gentleman school, master there is the Devil. And he respects you enough to know she’s right you get the feeling he comes back to see her not just to fix the problem but because he knows he lacking something in himself and she’s the only one who can give it to him. Donna noble would become a gnu modern version of Sarah Jane. Conscious, she needs just like her grandfather was the father figure he needed. So I guess you could say that Sarah Jane started some thing she threw in a stone into a flat pond, and the ripples are still being felt.

Destroying the monitor should not have stopped the computer from working just that screen, unless that screen is more than a screen, and is it actually more like an old fashion clock timer, digital clock timer, which was hooked directly to a chip and motherboard if you destroyed the screen and you pretty much destroyed the machine. That’s all tech can you text even Apple for example you crack screen it’ll still work crack CK simple still function not well but it will still function. Probably definitely your camera won’t the question Hass to be. Is that main monitor some thing else?

I love doctor who don't get me wrong but the one thing that always got me about British TV pre 2011 ish was how grainy the film quality is on seemingly every British TV show ever created it makes everything look cloudy and Dusty and any reflection of light is so dulled out. Up until about 2010 this literally kept me from being able to get into any sort of British TV for the simple fact that it actually nauseated me on a physical level LOL?

I still don't understand why a Time-Lord wouldn't harness the Time Vortex from a TARDIS like Rose did in Parting of the Ways. I know what the Doctor said before; "With power like that, a Time-Lord would be a god, a vengefull god." But the Time-Lords would be saved and the Daleks defeated. WMD like the Moment wouldn't have to be considered to end the war.

I came up with my own sequel to this episode. A student (maybe Milo) becomes a malevolent genius because of the oil they have eaten at the school. He becomes a new interstellar bad guy for the Doctor to fight.
