The joke at the end is why David Tennant is the best doctor, can be super serious and intense but still goofy and likeable

What many people don't know is that having Daleks in the void ship was not the original idea, show runner wanted to put someone much more dangerous than them inside the void ship.... The one they wanted to put in place of Daleks was.... *Harriet Jones Former Prime Minister!*

The Void sounds like a paradox. It is in between realities, so it simultaneously everywhere, and nowhere; it is encompassing of all mass and having nothing as well; and it is also absent of time, but events can still take place within it. Perhaps that's why the concept of a Void Ship was impossible, because it doesn't mathematically exist, and yet it does. You consider any advanced time and space machine built by the Time Lords, a logical species. They can travel anywhere and anywhere in time and space, and, to a degree, reach to other realities. The Void cannot be plotted in such co-ordinates or in any dimension, it requires all of them to be absent, but to a logical mind, like a TARDIS, not plotting a co-ordinate simply defaults it zero, but that only means you don't move in that co-ordinate, not exclude that dimension altogether. It's almost a case where logic is so complete it actually makes it impossible to enter a non-dimension, unless it is by sheer chance. In order to explore the Void, you'd need to simultaneously be intelligent enough to build a machine that can move in multiple dimensions, but also stupid enough to make colossal errors enough to land outside the parameters. Perhaps that's why the Void ship gives off "nothing". By having no measurable presence as a form of matter or energy to intelligent machines, but still being tangible to a flawed entity, it can be in that paradox state of existence, and thus not be bound by the normal dimensions, thus meaning setting all co-ordinates to zero would unravel reality to enter the Void.

I can't help but love how the Doctor says the Void contains "absolutely nothing. Imagine that. Nothing. No light, no dark, no up, no down. No life. No time. Without end." and then in the next episode they're all saved by the Void sucking all its "void stuff" back and he tells them that he's been seeing this void stuff all the time with his 3D-glasses. "Nothing", huh?

As the doors of the void ship ominously slide open, the doctor steps forward and stares directly into darkness, fascinated and intrigued by its origins. ‘Who the heck are you...?’- he says. ‘Harriet Jones, Prime minister chosen by the people for the people’

I find it fantastic that we, in one of the new specials, ACTUALLY got to see the "Void" in the episode Great Blue Yonder! I needed to rewatch this scene just to realize that that episode was a big fat callback! They even made it obvious with that "Vampires, Demons and Evil Spirits have to count the grains of Salt" line...

Actually canonically the Seventh Doctor heard of Torchwood but didn’t pay it any mind, he probably should’ve.

Always amuses me how they think they can keep the Doctor imprisoned and contained. Cute. But moving onto serious matters, he saves Queen Victoria from being mauled to death by an alien werewolf and she thanks him by banishing him, declaring him an enemy to be captured or killed on sight and forms an organisation that brutalises aliens and steals their technology in the name of prolonging imperialism. Pah! That's gratitude for you!

I wish they’d bring back torchwood or at least unit. They were such a prominent part of so many of the modern seasons. Also, side note, the doctor looks pretty awesome in those 3D glasses!

I feel like the Doctor should have told Queen Victoria the successes he did, if it weren't for him the Gelth would have taken over Wales, Queen Victoria herself would be ripped to shreds by the werewolf and the Daleks might've turned everyone into human Daleks (Evil of the Daleks)! Edit: If it weren't for him, the world would have ended.

Something that mind boggles me is why the 3D glasses are associated with Kurtjmac and Far Lands or Bust when the "Void stuff" only appeared in one story.

Of course Captain Jack would need to return, possibly Gwen but of the audio stories are canon it would have to explain why Torchwood is in hiding after causing a tsunami to Cardiff and Gwen leaving to start a new life

The Void to me sounds like the Whoniverse’s equivalent to the Quantum Realm (in the MCU). Think about it. The Doctor said it contained literally nothing, which sounds close to what Hank Pym said about the Quantum Realm that it was *”a reality where all concepts of time and space become irrelevant.”* 🤔

now that its officially established in new who that time lords can control regeneration (was a thing in old who but still, good to establish it using the doctor) I would love to see an older version of Tennant play an incarnation of the master who, after an encounter with the 10th doctor regenerated into the basic archetype of the doctor himself and take his place, sullying the Doctors name as a parody of his heroics. He could even have a tardis with a police box exterior, but jet black stone instead of blue wood.
