Fun fact, the color black in ork culture is defined as being “DEAD ‘ARD,” which imbues the Goffs with greater physical resilience and pain tolerance. Which, I would say is also why guys like the Black Templars and Iron Hands have such a reputation for kicking ork ass.

I associate their name more with the ancient goth tribes that sacked Rome. Generally written in history as extremely brutal barbarians.

Fun fact: the checkerboard paint is a tribute to Horus. During Ullanor, Horus killed so many Orks that the color of his Armour (black and white) became entrained in their collective psyche as a scary color. Horus on ullanor literally gave the Orks a trauma on a species level. Also imo the goffs are supposed to be 40ks „Black Orks“, since in fantasy, black Orks are more violent and stronger than the regular Orks, as well as having a deeper shade of green, since they initially were created by the chaos dwarves as heavy Labour/ shock troops.

I wonder what Gazghkull's reaction was to the death of Yarrick......Anger to overshadow Angron? Tantrum so bad he killed a Tyranid hive-fleet on accident? Tears so salty they could kill fish? *I MUST KNOW*

Is Gazghkull mostly machine? I thought that he was essentially Orkenstein. After he got decapitated, I thought that he got a new body of stitched-together huge ork parts that his head was just sewn onto to make him absolutely massive. The fact that he’s still alive after all that is just why I love the orkz so much.

I cant wait for the Blood Axe. I love the idea of orks trying to use cunning and logic to out think their opponents. granted it normally leads to ork shannigans but when it works it fantastic.

Best part of the bolt to the head story is that the bolt belonged to a Dark Angels' servitor turret. A Space Wolf found this out and proceeded to laugh about it.

While not my favorite ork clan (that would be the blood axes) goffs are still pretty awesome, and do a good job of reminding you that while Orks can be goofy, at the end of the day they’re still a massive threat

I've also read that they tend to "take warfare more seriously" than other Orks. I like to imagine this as they're a bit more grim and stoic- as in compared to other Orks, I'm sure they're still loud af. But ya know I always imagine Goffs kinda standing in silence slightly twitchy and drooling at the bit, all amped tf up before they make their charge where as other clans would probably be talking the entire time.

Fun fact: there's a big urban legend in 40k that Gazghkull Mag Uruk Thrakka was named after the former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher as an insult. It has sinced be debunked by some of the OG creators of Warhammer and the *only* reason I believe it is she was so unanimously hated I honestly doubt GW would've had anyone give them shit for naming a violent ork after her and thus need to hide the fact.

7:43 bullshit the War of the beast was more wacky and wild or destructive but in terms of deaths the Devastation of Baal killed more like 99% of all Blood angel chapters out of 29K-30K Space Marines only 300-400 survived more space marines and chapters were wiped out all mostly done without a Primarch Gullimen did come in last second to clean up but lamenters didn’t make it or 1/4th correct me if I’m wrong

As a battle nut myself who refrains from combat because he likes punching people a bit to much for his own comfort I find the Orcs to be a kindred spirit. I imagine their attitude is akin to what I would be like if I didn't hold myself back, and I decided to screw it I'm fighting every that moves.

Goffs are my least favorite Orks. 40k falls apart when it takes itself too seriously and the Goffs are Orks without the fun. Orks are great because they successfully straddle the line between silly and scary, Goffs exchange the silly for edgy and just kind of come off as lame.

Still amateur hour compared to the krorks.
