Yes. If you talk about Jesus, JW's suspicion is aroused. They would look at you as being an outsider to the religion called Jehovah's Witnesses. They would wonder to what religion you'd previously belonged or with whom you've been associating.

(after all things have been subjected what will their roll be?) I have no problem changing my understanding of that text, but negating what was written in Genesis about men living on Earth, moving out from that garden and subduing the Earth, while filling it with flesh and blood creatures, then according to Isiah 65 we have a problem. What is literal and what is symbolic. What I think is literal some may interpret as symbolic, and what some may think as symbolic, I might interpret as literal. The angels that forsook their proper dwelling place, which examined in the larger biblical context, made unauthorized beings, that can be concluded were not in compliance with God's purpose for humans and seemingly for angles. I don't know what in the scriptures, besides trying to interpret Isiah 65:23 as symbolic could you bring something to birth for disturbance, such as being a sinful dying human living in a system under Satan's control. Would living like the days of a tree be symbolic, if you knew you were going to die after a few thousand years of life? What happened to the gift of everlasting life? If you had evil called down upon you at 100 years of age, you would die as a boy. It seems someone flesh has been kept youthful up to that point. So does this text just mean that God will only extend out lives. All the promises I've read in the bible other than this one in Isiah, seem to speak of eternal life. Maybe 'days of a tree' is like a mustard grain growing in to largest garden plant. (Matthew 13:31-32) That's pretty arbitrary, since you can plant seed in a garden that could become something larger than that plant. Not to mention the definition of a garden and what would go in it is pretty arbitrary. So maybe the 'days of tree,' is just a quick analogy just to compare the extent of everlasting life, in a more graspable way. (What natural things can a person look to compare everlasting life. You can see when a tree is born and you can see when some long lasting tree dies, even if you weren't there to see it sprout.) The tree might not live forever, but it's the best analogy one could look to see how long something can last and start to get a feel for how long everlasting life would be like. (The Earth is harder to grasp, since no human saw it being born Prov.8) So I would conclude that part to be a comparison (symbolic) but not absolutely literal. Similar comparisons would also be appropriate for one dying as boy, when 100, when everlasting life is put in front of you. Could giving to birth be symbolic. It's hard to call it symbolic when in the same text the works of one's hand is mentioned there. If giving birth only refereed to intellectual ideas and purposes and works, why not compare it to the works of ones' hands. They are separated in the text, because they are not symbolic and not meant to be comparisons, as has already be used by the "tree" and 'dying as a boy' comparisons. Even if Job 33: 22-25 only refers to spiritual refreshing, there is very curious text that says, "23 Yet if there is an angel at their side, a messenger, one out of a thousand, sent to tell them how to be upright, and he is gracious to that person and says to God, ‘Spare them from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom for them-." Why would a caring angel look for a ransom? This sounds much like Revelation, where, the angles were looking for one to open the seals. (Rev. 5:1-5) This search for a ransom suggest there's something more to the text than spiritual refreshment. At the end of Jobs trials his flesh was definitely restored. Fleshly restoration occurs multiple times in the Bible. Even from a principle point of few, I would still look to this text to support that the "ransom" sacrifice of Jesus can be used to restore flesh and let someone return to the days of his youthful vigor. These text become confusing, and inconsistent with Gods prohibition of leaving your 'proper dwelling place' to engage in carnal activities permitted by full humans, if you go to heaven only to return to Earth to do such. If everything is kept separate, humans that live exclusively on Earth and Spirit sons of God who come to Earth to conduct business, to help move mankind forward. Whether we see them or directly or you get things that happen to you in Numbers 12, I will not be going back with them when there business is done, and they will not be having babies on Earth. As far as can be seen in scripture, the angelic hosts are a fixed number, who do not baby new spirit beings into the heavenly realms. Not to get to weird. Excuse the run on sentences and somewhat disjointed thoughts. I'm not a writer. I tried my best.

Rev 16 foretold many would blaspheme. Who that must refer to could include those who can no longer believe in the existence of a God !! Those who choose to be Allies with one's that.have adopted that kind of thinking ..would also qualify as blasphemers.. The two witnesses of rev 11 are not included as bladphemers..they are the ones causing the plagues ..some if which cause blasphemy among the above mentioned ones. Rev 16:8-11 refers to Several causes and the behaviour bears a similarity..quite appropriate.. Scorching heat : something so unpleasant..those suffering it are eager to be out of it..they seek shelter quickly ! . Hailstones : Not death dealing but irritating ..there are many individual items of irritation that impact ..one would prefer to take shelter with others..even though they're strangers.. you have in common ..the need to shelter to avoid the hailstones. . Ulcers : These are troublesome wounds that are sensitive..and can be triggered if care is not taken.. They just won't heal as easily as one would like.. These 3 causes of blasphemy truly resemble the experiences of ex jw,s .. . Some repent of blasphemy.. Ezekiels temple vision foretells that those in the Dead Sea..are enabled to live again..from the torrent of spiritual provisions that are located a far distance away from the center of true worship. Perhaps it's from among apostates( that think and accept teachings not presented at that time ..by the Governing Body)that such life giving provisions come. Unity of true worship resumes with those who have come to life again. Whilst in that Dead condition they had no appreciation of what had gone on.. Had no sense or understanding of what had been taking place.. Once awakened..they get to learn what they had missed.. There is no alternate arrangement for worship in the last days represented by the Temple visions in Ezekiel ( 47)and in Revelation(11).. It's not superceded..it continues on into the new earth under the Government Jehovah prepared in advance.. With an administration we can be confident because they are fully tested ! For many years, I noted discrepancies in the teachings of the WT but used to just think "oh well, the GB knows best" and would ignore it and move on. However, once they started repudiating massive amounts of former teachings I had to give pause and reevaluate. Keep in mind that when I was a kid (60s and 70s) and even into the 80s we would debate problems with some teachings as they were released. Additionally, a lot of us had read The Studies in the Scriptures and recognized that Russell's writings were occult-like. We would also gloss over the lie of how the WT had "foretold" The Lord's return (Presence or Parousia) in 1914. In reality, Russell and The Society had "foretold" The Lord's enthronement as occurring in 1873/1874 and that 1914 would see the final end of Armageddon (a later revisionist history created by Rutherford). Most current Witnesses are unaware of the fact that 1914 is a McGuffin used by the GB to establish their entire provenance. As Eric noted, Satan is working to limit the completion of the number of The Seed of the Woman and the final Sealing thinking he can thwart God's purpose and delay his time in the abyss and final destruction.

I'm glad you recovered from agnosticism. It's a road to nowhere. Online, I'm in contact with many exjw's who have completely lost their faith. Even quoting a small appropiate scripture text seems to make some of them angry. Agnosticism is not a good place to be. I, too, lost much because of Watchtower. I had faded down to only attending Memorial for several years. Then one Memorial, with me in one of the forward rows, the speaker actually looked at me and said,... with a nasty smirk on his face,... "And some only show up once a year at Memorial, as if that were going to save them". Whoa! But, I think I still attended a couple of Memorials after that, always attending at different venues where the elders of my congregation wouldn't be in charge. Finally, I decided to read Crisis of Conscience and Ray Franz' other book. And a couple of months after that, I found Eric on RU-vid, presenting his first Spanish video. Yes. I watched the whole thing in Spanish, my second language. I was wide-eyed. Nice to meet you here.

Either way, they were punished for their sins. I like to think that somewhere deep down in the back brain of these men a little voice is crying out, "What the hell do you think you're doing?" but they squelch it.

What’s interesting is how many times that scripture has been used a “get out of jail free” card over the years when a teaching has been changed. What you are be taught is relevant to you right now” I am slightly paraphrasing. That basically gives them license to change any teaching.

The new light shows that God is with Jehovah's Witnesses as He prepares us for the New world. God does not give false religion new light. They remain in error. They continue to believe in false doctrines like the trinity, hellfire, pagan holidays, voting and pledging their allegiance to a flag. They totally are not ready to enter into the new world. But God refines us and makes our best better. Just as Jesus did in the first century when he addressed the 7 congregation in Rev .chapters 1-3. . He told them of things that they needed to change. Jesus did not tell any other religions of things that they needed to change. But he was only concern with his people. He allowed the other religions to remain in error. It is the same today.

Check out the first 3 chapters of Revelations where Jesus addresses the 7 churches. Some of the churches he gave commendations, but to the other churches he told them to change some of the things that they were doing. As long as God has imperfect men shepherd his people, mistakes will be made. Which is why in the new world, it will be Jesus who will be the king that will guide us. Just as it was purposed by God from the beginning. We will have a theocracy. A God ruled government. That is the kingdom that we preach about when we go from door to door.

Watchtower does not teach the truth. Watchtower replaces Jesus with its 8-man Governing Body. We should listen to Jesus as our shepherd. Jesus will not mistreat us.

Truth comes from Jesus who is "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6) You say, "you should organize your own church," to which I say, "Get behind me, Satan! I do believe the Watch Tower has taught the basic truths such as the nature of God and his son, the truth about there not being a burning hell, but I do know there is now deep corruption with the leaders of the Watch Tower. @anniesavedbygrace - Yes, many lack a correct rendering based on the interlinear. That is why it is so important to be cognizant of the interlinear and look at it frequently. So much is missed by translators.

It's not incorrect. The literal "sons of" is equivalent in meaning to descendants without reference to gender, which is why different translators use "children", "your people", etc.

You would disqualify someone from being part of "pure worship" for believing in hellfire, or the Trinity, is that not so? So why do Jehovah's Witnesses get a free pass for believing in false teachings? Before you criticize, learn exactly what it is you are criticizing. @@BeroeanPickets Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in false teachings. JW has the basic important teachings of the bible correct. And God knows that we are on the right track. For instance, we believe that Jehovah is God and that Jesus is His firstborn Son. No other faith that I can think of, believes that. And as God looks at mankind, He sees that these people are on the right track. We also believe when Jesus says that we should be no part of the world because the devil is the ruler of the world. And so we only preach that God's kingdom as the only hope for mankind. Not Donald Trump or any man. Again, God sees this and says," these people get it." And we believe the bible when it says that the dead are conscience of nothing and that from dust you are, to dust you will return and that God takes offense that people think that if you don't serve him, then He's going to burn you alive in some Hellfire. Again, God says, "Wow, they understand me." And so God enlightens His people by teaching them about the 1000 year reign of Christ and he directs them to preach about this kingdom to the world. And no other faith even has a clue about the fact that billions of people will be resurrected right back to the earth to be taught by Jesus and his 144,000 corulers. I talked to a man in another faith about the 1000 year reign of Christ and he got upset. He said he is going to heaven and that living on earth forever compared to heaven is like Motel 6. Another man of a different faith said that the earth will be vacant for 1000 years and only the devil will roam the earth. I told both of them, "This is why Jesus did not choose your faiths to preach the Good News about the Kingdom from door to door to the world. ", Jesus will refined us even more as he prepares us to teach the billions of people who will be resurrected back to the earth.

But if you're just going to repeat the same old litany of excuses that JWs spout to make themselves feel good, you'd best stick to the Kingdom hall where you'll get willing ears, though I understand even their number is diminishing.
