Good video, man. Touched on a lot of interesting areas. Is the lord of the storm (Placidsax) the same entity as the storm lord? In ancient myths, people originally worshiped dragons/serpents because they were thought to control weather. This evolved into the worship of a god who defeated or controlled said dragons. It’s difficult to know who Godfrey faced alone - the dragonlord or a hero associated with defeating the dragonlord. That all depends on your conception of the timeline. One thing I find interesting about the hawks is their presence on Limgrave’s divine tower. That’s a unique placement and suggests a connection between the hawks and the anchor ring.
The lore about Malenia picking up the loyal commanders Niall and O'neil from stormveil on her way to caelid is so interesting! They were surely disgusted by Godrick and chose Malenia's cause. Malenia and Miquella are known for being allies of the weak and outcast, so the disgraced Stormveil Generals are perfect fits.
It looks to me like the chains on the wings of the storm hawks is what prevents them from doing their storm flight attack. The grafted hawks can still fly just fine. Just a thought.
I think it's just as valid to assume the banished knights of stormveil are mostly turncoats. We find the knights in nearly every stretch of the land, if they were to stay I'd say most of them if not from obligation were intoxicated by the idea of Godric's rise to power. Limgrave is a geographically important area and nice looking too, and assuming their little raiding party on the remnants of the Storm King went off well, it'd make sense the ones sticking around are at least firm believers in whatever shit Godric was spewing
The broken needle is Melenia's. Despite the cutscene showing Radahn and Melenia fighting in the wailing dunes, they were actually in Aeonia when Melenia bloomed; something she could not do with the needle still inserted in her. Whether the needle broke during the fight, or she pulled it out on purpose, and the needle broke sometime during Caelid's descent into a scarlet rot hell hole
I wonder where Godrick got his storm powers. I think its possible he got them by grafting banished knights to himself and gaining their abilities, the same way he got the dragon fire abilities. Its also possible he inherited the storm powers from Godfrey after Godfrey slew the storm king.
I don't think so but it's possible they were normal or atleast elden ring version of normal ravens before something changed them into the toothy birds we know and love.
