Like everything in life, people usually enjoy a more curated familiar version of reality than the actual truth. I think it's great that he was such a genuine actor in the food industry unlike most shows who will only present you the most beautiful or grandiose restaurants. He was more a man of the people and I think that's why he was so loved, because he didn't care for the flashy and the fancy stuff, he seeked only the true and the genuine and it's a very admirable thing. Great video once again Dan, it was a very interesting and personal approach for a video essay and I really enjoyed it. :)
Exactly. It’s not that we didn’t see beautiful stuff with him, it was his fearlessness at showing us the lesser known aspects as well. Thanks for watching as always Crim!
I love that he goes beyond the tourism spots, I've always had that ideology that if I go somewhere, I want the genuine feel, even though I've been stuck in America my entire life. I wish more people were like Anthony.
I understand that for sure. It’s not always easy and putting yourself out there takes a lot of effort, but it’s often worth it. You want more people like Tony! Be more like Tony bud!
Easy to go beyond the touristy spots when you have the resources and producers to set everything up, though. Most (not all) of the time, going to those places, the hidden locals-only, spots, will just end up making you feel out of place. Especially since most of the world doesn't speak whatever language you do.
Thank you for watching Susan. It was a video made with love and reverence for Tony and a way to celebrate his life and impact with fellow fans. Have yourself a happy new year!
that haiku is amazing, love it. i’ll be responding in kind later, but the comment spree seems gratuitous by now so i’m gonna take a step back & just watch your fast n furious rants passively & drift off like so many tokyo civics @@NerdTalkDan
