For those who don’t speak ancient Chinese, “crane corps” means ‘sacrificial offerings’

i have to say that the crane attack was the dumbest fighting technique ever 🤣🤣

I just realized how insane the Crane Corps actually is as an idea. They're literally fighting a horde. Sending people to bungee jump into that with a spear is basically accomplishing two things: feeding the horde and wasting vital manpower. Good lord, who thought this was a good idea to put in a film? This isn't Attack on Titan, people, you're literally just fishing with legitimately skilled warriors as bait.

The crane corps is arguably one of the stupidest ideas that ever made it onto film. Not to mention the archer at 1:40 who says "aim for the eyes" on a swarm of fast moving enemies that are 100's of metres away.

I like how the protagonists' faces are filled with disbelief at the stupidity of their tactics.

This movie's plot has so much potential to be good, even the graphics and actors are not bad but there are stupid blunders that makes it a below average movie. It has so much more potential.

Rip to all the woman that do the death dive

if they research more on weapons and tactics than their uniforms, they could win this war with less casualty.

The Crane Corpse was apparently meant to distract the monsters long enough so that the archers can aim for the eyes

another reason to shit on the crane corps is that the jumpers wore bright blue armor, which would be just a great attention giver and making it easier to see them. they couldve atleast made their armor the color of the wall so they'd have some sort of camouflage at least making it a bit harder to see them

I like how the movie gives extra time to the Crane Corps to show that they're an exceptionally skilled, elite division of the Chinese military, as if we didn't just see two of them get eaten alive in their very first action sequence

"Crane drops" is not a very good tactic. 1. You're sending some of your elite fighters down a rope to try and kill deadly monsters while hanging upside down. 2. Since they bounce right back up, each fighter only has a second or two or three to inflict damage. 3. Each fighter only has two hands, so no matter how skilled they are, they can only swing two weapons. 4. You don't have thousands of "cranes" at your disposal, but each section of the wall only sends down a handful of these fighters. Conclusion: Because the monsters drastically out number your "crane" fighters, and because they can only kill a couple with each drop, it's clearly ineffective. You're simply not reducing their numbers enough to hold them off or prevent them from stacking up and climbing the wall. Without the "cranes", the monsters would've reached the top of the wall only seconds sooner than they do with the cranes' attacks. You're basically just sacrificing good fighters for almost zero gain. And look at the apparatus they have to construct to even let those gals down. Surely there's better ways to spend your time and resources. In fact, this whole situation is ridiculous. By the looks of it, they had plenty of time and more than enough resources to come up with a better strategy. Build canals inside the wall, that can open up on the other side, and release liquid down on anything that's trying to climb up your giant wall. Oil perhaps, then light the bastards on fire. They'll burn to a crisp before the outside wall takes any serious damage. An oiled up outer wall would also be much harder to climb. Granted, you'd need a lot of oil, but if they can afford those fancy armors for their entire army, I'm sure they could collect tons of oil. Also, "aim for their eyes" is poor advice. When a massive horde is stampeding towards your position, you aren't going to distinguish between individual monsters, let alone figure out where an individual's eyes are. Just "aim for whatever's moving towards us", would be more realistic. But since we're discussing their eyes, why not use smokebombs? Blind them down there; carpet the whole region infront of the walls with smokebombs, so that they can't see. Seems more feasible than targeting their individual eyes. And how about a moat? Castles used moats for a reason. Moving through water is way harder than moving on dry land. Release piranhas in the moat: preferably with laserbeams attached to their frikkin' heads. The oil will float on the water's surface, turning the moat into a boiling soup du monster. If some do manage to reach the top of the wall somehow, you still have your elite chicks in blue atop of the wall to kill them off. In fact, on second thought; cranes are useless. Just construct a portruding rim at the top of the wall. Would be near impossible for the monsters to climb up a portruding, rounded ledge. High wall with a portruding ledge, lots of catapults, rain of arrows, smokebombs, a moat, oiled up walls, fire, and more arrows. Just some thoughts. See, we can think of better shit to do [on the spot] than what these writers came up with. Monsters wouldn't stand a chance.

Don't care what critics say, I enjoyed the movie. Plenty of action, the special effects and monsters were real looking, and the primitive weapons were well thought out. Might one day a cult classic.

This movie was lots of fun to watch, I highly recommend it. The female commander was pretty darn hot too. Jus' sayin'

Ah yes, defending their land from an alien horde of unending numbers, using the largest wall in man's memory, equipped with Catapults, crossbowmen, ballistas and... Bungee jumping... Wait, Bungee jumping??? Like, the other 3 made sense, why on Earth do they bungee jump into the action, maybe killing one or two of these things while also risking killing themselves in the process? Like, sure, it looks cool and all, but it doesn't at all work from a tactical standpoint. XD Hell, I'd tell the guys to start lining the walls with oil and light it up when those beasts starts climbing the walls. I think that's be REALLY bloody effective if you ask me.
