Who's hyped for a Half Life?

According to the Google, Russell is voiced by Rhys Darby, who also plays Nigel in the new Jumanji Movies. That's a good ear you got there Jack!

Game: **Forces everyone back to their homes with urgency** Jack: *This looks like France!*

Technically, headcrab zombies aren't really "dead." In fact, being a headcrab zombie is possibly the worst torture imaginable. Firstly, once the headcrab jumps, and latches on, with its "beak" digging into the humans skull, and administering a neurotoxin that knocks the host out. Then, the transformation begins. the headcrab swaps blood with the host, which somehow makes them near immortal. this also causes a lot of skin, muscle, and tissue to be melted away. This makes the iconic "zombie" look. Then the transformation is directed at their hands. Muscles is ripped, and bones are broken and contorted into sharp claws, which make the zombie hands look so long. It uses these claws to attack and bring prey down once the transformation is complete. Now, this is by far the worst part of the transformation. Now, the headcrab covers basically the entire head, including the mouth. This makes it impossible for the host to eat, and if the host eats, the headcrab will sap that energy for itself, essentially a parasite. Now, as an alternative, the headcrabs use the claws that were formed from the hands, and TEARS OPEN THE CHEST. Only combines infected have the glory of not having this happen to them, due to their bulletproof vest. now, the zombie wats dormant, until a human passes near them. It will then awake, and attack the host. The worst part about this all? THE HOST IS ALIVE, CONSCIOUS, AND HAS NO PAIN DAMPENERS AT ALL. The moans from the headcrab zombies? Those are scream's of help from the infected host. they have no control over their body, except combines and the infected marines, as they have detonated grenades to end their suffering. The only way to help these people, is by killing the headcrab, or damaging them enough that the headcrab gets off. This will make them die though, as the headcrab was essentially their lifeline. although, death seems better than what is happening to them now.

I love how Jack's immediate reaction to seeing the combine soldiers when the elevator doors open is to push the button again

Jack: I don't want to waste ammo Also Jack: *shoot clearly dead corpse* got to get that double tap

Possibly the best dialogue ever, “I have a brain injury, my brain is injured, ow.”

I don't know why but a guy throwing a gun out a window for you to use is such a valve thing to include in a story game

Such a shame you never played the first game before this, you would've recognized Alyx's pet as a snark, the cutest aliens in Half Life

Even after 2 years I’m back watching this because I loved this VR game so much.

Jack’s reaction to how detailed this game is, is so cool and fun to watch. He just sounds so happy while he talks about all the shadows and the reflections and I love it

The combine when they freaked out about the grenade makes them seem more like a real thing instead of a soulless machine

I LOVE how when he got to the elevator scene in the beginning he tried to spam the close elevator button in a panic 🤣.

7:26 That’s a Snark, a creature from Half-Life 1 that Gordon gets to use as a weapon. Sort of like the predecessor to the Antlions in how they were used as a sort of weapon in Half-Life 2.

Jack really touched me when he’s been admiring everything the game has to offer- from the immensely wide range of features the game adapts, the beautiful interactive environments, and even the menu! It just goes to show how truly appreciative Jack is.

I've played this and I nearly shat myself multiple times when I hadn't even seen a single zombie yet

I can confidently say that since I play a good amount of VR, just seeing this on a 2D screen shows me exactly how good this looks.

I like how jack completely forgets zombies need to have a headcrab on them to do anything 😂

I can't get over the image in my head of guards ordering people to stay in their homes and all you see is Jack in the background just randomly yelling and throwing stuff.

The Valve Index looks really impressive and watching this video really convinced me that if I ever buy a VR unit, it needs to be something like this. With that being said, the price point is just impossible for me to afford at this point.

What I can’t get over is how smooth the movement is! Wow!

1:00:10 did anyone else notice that when Jack reloaded, the gun went up to 11 bullets because he had one chambered? It's a small detail, but I love when games have practical gun logic in them.

you know jack is maturing when he wrote the word "laugh" on the window instead of drawing a small pp.

There is so much detail in this game, hard to believe its already 2 years old, and there hasn't been a triple-A VR title since. Heck theres so much detail you can pick up a bottle, and shake it and see the liquid inside it move. You can wear helmets to keep headcrabs from coupling with your head. And this game really rewards exploration and looking inside every nook and cranny for those resin pieces to upgrade your weapons. I absolutely love, and hate this game at the same time. The only time I've legit been on the seat of my pants at times.

I just recently got a quest 2 and OMG this game BLEW my mind AWAY! The realism of the characters is just OUT OF THIS WORLD! :D

Coming back to rewatch this in 2021 and jack’s excitement at the beginning makes me so happy!

Coming back two years after finishing Half life Alyx because I forgot that I skipped Jack playing this because I wanted to experience it myself, I can’t wait to see Jack’s play through

Just tried this in my Quest 3, and it's totally amazing, my first VR experience

Imagine Jack actually being a character in this game and the apocalypse is coming and he's just talking about game lighting, VR lighting, and real-life lighting

im so sad im late to this series 😭 i didnt even know it existed for some reason, but im glad i found it this game is amazing especially this VR version! im also really happy that you spent the time to show off the scenery and all the minor details because im a sucker for visuals as well and it wouldve been a shame to see all that hard work that went in, go to waste with just jumping straight into the game. im so impressed

You make vr more entertaining than any other youtube. Just something about your personality makes it easy to watch vr. Most vr vids are boring, but youre special mr septic eye. Youre one of a kind truly😢

I'm so happy I can watch this now that I've played through the game myself. For three years I held off on watching ANY content on this game so I could eventually get the full experience (or as full an experience as the Oculus Quest 2 can provide) and I'm so glad I did because it was mind blowing! I am now binge watching LP's starting with yours.

“Stevie,” the bug thing in a jar, is a weapon in Half Life 1. You throw them at enemies and it tears through them, then eventually explodes. Also, when you see that cool display thing with the floating eye and the puzzle, there’s a depiction of a big baby thing having control over some alien dudes. This is Nihilanth, the final boss of Half Life 1, depicted as enslaving the Vortigaunts.

I love how sean goes from scared and nervous to 'im scared time to be funny'. It really gives that comical relife character vibe.

every once in a while i will come back to this series because it brings me joy, even though I have never played any half-life game. this series helped me through online schooling during my freshman year, and now I've just graduated high school! and just recently, I got a new vr headset to replace the one I had lost. so I plan to buy the game for myself once I can :>

In case no one has told you yet, Jack, that is Rhys Darby who plays Russell. He is the same actor that plays Nigel in Jumanji.

just discovered this game recently...been playing via quest 2 cloud pc... it's the most incredible vr experience ive ever had. mind blowing visuals and gameplay. 11/10.

I've avoided all spoilers for a year and I finally have a PC that can actually run this. I have not been so amazed and captivated by a gaming experience since Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. Love your enthusiasm and genuine delight! :)
