The reason cj keeps grabbing onto ledges automatically is because this is a shitty port of the mobile version, this isnt the remaster of the original, this shit is the remaster of the mobile port, pc edition.
@@Graknorke yeah, they took the ps2 version them port to pc, after that they took the pc one and port to mobile, and then, they took the mobile one and port it back to pc, complete nonsense
This game looks like one of those “EXTREME HD ENB OVERHAUL” videos where everything looks way too bright, too clean, too shiny, and the art style is completely and utterly gone.
They couldn’t even go to the effort of making Ryder actually shorter than any of the other characters, so all those jokes about his height actually make sense.
It's so funny as well that they are all basically the same height, and yet Ryder is the one I'd say looks the tallest because of how slouchy and lanky he is.
It’s like the GTA 3 remaster got the most love out of all of them, because they have achievements for all the classic ways your able to cheese missions.
It just seems like they made GTA3 and then saw how much effort it would be to give vice city and San Andreas the same treatment. GTA3 actually looks enhanced. Lighting engine is great and overall the artstyle really works. Vice City looks significantly better than the original but kinda looks flat. I personally don’t like the models in it but you can tell that they actually put effort into it - albeit not as much as into GTA3. San Andreas is a trainwreck. Simple as that. They probably said „back to GTA Online to print some easy money“ halfway through vice city
There's something uncanny about the """modern""" graphics, paired with the old low-quality audio and sound effects. Like at least when they're both old and crappy, it has that comfy retro aesthetic that we've all grown accustom to. Its like having recorded voice acting in an 8bit side-scroller, it just doesn't mesh well.
Speaking of voice acting in a 2d side scrolling type game, Blasphemous has this but does an actually amazing job for the tone that game is going for. Would highly recommend over the gta trilogy.
Apparently from what I remember, they essentially lost the original high quality voice lines and sound effects, so that's really the only part I can't blame them for in the game
@ניקאָלאַי ברומאָווסקי a company worth millions of dollars. even valve in their lowest point made a game that actually plays and looks good, but just like, wtf rockstar?
Sony: We are proud to announce the PS7 Microsoft: Today is our grand unveiling of the Xbox 3 NVIDIA: RTX On, RTX 6090 Ti Intel: *Something* Lake Core i9 512Core AMD: Our new Zen7 Ryzen 8900 Apple: Our new M5 Silicon with 2048 CPU cores and 1024 GPU cores *Rockstar advert about GTA V and Remastered being on those platforms*
Funny that some fans who defend Rockstar always use that sentence while we watching this dumpster fire keep burning on...and also GTA 4 remastered in works.
Not a joke, the definitive edition is a "remaster" of the phone version of the game, which is visible with certain barely visible prompts and many specific bugs. Furthermore, the game was handled by "Grove Street games", who outsourced the job to a group in India, as visible in the credits
They didnt outsource it again to another dev. That India section in the credits were Rockstar India devs and they also worked on the original if im not mistaken
Matt McMuscles has a series called WHA HAPPUN? which goes into the history & backstory of terrible or troubled game releases, so he would be PERFECT for this
@@HandjobHandsome with all the other shit like removing the originals from storefronts, taking down a bunch of fan mods and it literally being unplayable on PC for at least a day because their launcher broke there’s probably enough material.
The modding community for gta is honestly crazy, they manage to remaster/mod the games better years ago with little to none budget than rockstar has ever done to there games at this point. I still feel bad for rdr2.
sorry my bad, I meant rdr2 Online. Essentially Rockstar doesn't even try to stop hackers, glitches and other shenanigans. It's quite literally dead because rockstar has kind of pulled the plug since it's only up to scam people at this point, just still keeps like 2 whole servers running as it seems almost impossible to join a lobby. The amount of Redditor energy that paragraph has is crazy.
@@MemeL0rd13 What are you talking about on pc it's pretty full but have to agree that it's dead and there's some content but it's not much but its there
It's so nice of cj to put his sodas back in the vending machine with his telepathic abilities so the next person gets a free half drunken soda. What a lad
I know graphics in there aren't exactly the best, but the coloring and non realistic lighting in OG San Andreas has a bit of a charm to it that makes you feel a bit comfy despite its world, while this remaster completely feels so artificial with the brighter colors and ray tracing and other stuff (I'm not what you'd call a technical gamer, give me a break)
This remaster does NOT use ray tracing, but traditional shadow maps instead. I agree with your point though, this hack-job pushed me to reinstall the OG game and applied the PS2 renderer on top of it. It really is charming, nostalgia aside.
After 7+ years since GTA V it feels like a new game altogether could've been more preferred rather than just remastering the older ones over and over again.
nah, they shouldve left these games as was and spent the time to make something else. i for one would love to see rockstar games do something that has no ties to red dead or gta. id love to see them do a completely new ip with new concepts and ideas. as i bet the people working there are creativly bankrupt due to making the same game over and over again.
But rockstar never sold this game as a remake. If u expected a remake that's your own fault. I do agree tho it would have been so cool to get remakes from rockstar themselves instead of grove street games
They probably dont, but these came out really well, stop complaining about these when we know how trash GTA V's rerelease will look like and consider how long these games are taking, this remake of the trilogy was made in a month, and came out as good or I'd argue better than GTA V, and GTA V will...just get a DLC, and probably the same makeover the trilogy got
This was made by Grove Street Games, the same guys who made the mobile port of the trilogy. Why the fuck would Rockstar employ a studio known for making ports to make a remaster for their (probably) most beloved games? This is just a shit job, man.
In fact the comments nowadays are braindead copy & paste especially those sad stories that others have passed away and just say the most stupidest things
@@ThePhantom4516 there's a bug going back to the original release where the game doesn't unload the empty cans but just hides them, so the game eventually crashes if you drink enough from the same machine because you go over the limit of how many entities it can track. for some reason, maybe to do with autosaves, in the definitive edition this made the game instantly crash on start up every time after as well
Even looking past all the bugs and issues, can we talk about the fact that there is no consistency between textures so it all looks like the game uses assets made by different people for different games ? It's horrible.
Agree but the people crying in the comments forget this was made in a month, and for that time its really well made, and I'd say 100x better than GTA V Edit: this was cope and I'm ashamed I thought it was good, still, 2x better than GTA V
0:42 Ryder was wearing a bandit mask in this cutscene in the original game. The counter guy makes a joke about how he knows it’s Ryder in the mask because he doesn’t know anyone else that small. Doesn’t make sense in the remaster.
This is why i love cracks, it lets you try the game without having to buy anything. Installed Vice City, saw the game looks like fortnite with olive oil and then uninstalled it after 30 minutes. Saved 70 euros.
5:05 damn, it feels weird seeing Pyro laugh that hard. Around 2016-2017 he almost never laughed and when he did, it was a smirk or chuckle. I feel old bruh.
I think that some bugs are fun, just as long they Arent breaking progression and softlocking you like some in cyberpunk. But some of this looks a tad bit too sad, like the pizza png
@@henrikbgh7221 the sadest part for me is that 7 on the t-shirt, i think they swapped the texture but forgot to change the bump maps so the shadows are still working for that "7" even though it's "3".
Hunt Down the Freeman had a dev team of like 2-5 fanboys without Valve’s help This was officially backed by a major AAA games studio with a net worth of 5 billion dollars.
The sad part is from what I hear, the console ports are either jank, jankier or jank: the return of the jank Especially the Switch version because "Hey, let's not optimise an Unreal 4 engine game on it, it'll be fine!"
12:58 Pyro, you played Syphon Filter? I absolutely love the first three games, on PlayStation (1). Syphon Filter 2 is one of the best PSX games I have ever played. The series doesn't seem to get much praise, so it was great to randomly hear the theme music here 😄.
For a second I asked myself if I'm really hearing the fucking Syphon Filter 2 title screen, you never hear anybody talk about these games. Such a banger though
The excuse of “it’s a remaster, not a remake” is not a good excuse, Halo Anniversary is a remaster and it’s genuinely damn amazing compared to that shit show…
0:08 I love how all the rain droplet effects on the ground just all fade in and out at the same time like god is dumping a bucket of water on you over and over
Man, Pyro really works hard in these "Live" Videos. Usually the Live clips channels or the Highlights channels are just low effort, uncut twitch reposts, wich isn't even that bad but we out here with at least some level of editing for the side channel. Made me happy, made me smile thanks pyro
This looks like one of those shitty Unity remakes called something like "Gang theft auto: LA" that are created to be sold in countries where the original game is banned
@@gregrobinette8620 Most people could do better in a week, why should i be happy to consume this schlock when R* has the resources to make something much better. They made Red Dead 2 for fucks sake.
It really reminds me of Dark Souls 2, like it's high def but it's low def, everything is filled but it's very empty, everything looks the right size from somewhere but from somewhere else it looks wild
8:13 I genuinely always forget that this character exists. You’d think they’d place more emphasis on him, since he’s working undercover, and is one of the reasons Tenpenny’s operation falls apart.
