That best part is walks up the staircase and says the line all dramatic like, and then as soon as gameplay takes over, walks back down to the command console.
@@raptorjesus3894 What's horrible about it is that she actually does start giving something approximating actual tactical commands before disappearing through a door.
I like that frog, as Chief, takes the time to stop and admire the first flood infection the game gives you. I have an image in my head of Master Chief pulling out a note pad and commentating “ah, yes. Fascinating. This is really excellent, well done.”
I hate the library, but once you get in the rhythm you can pretty much get to the end without stopping. This line will contain my thoughts on cortana after my "trilogy-legendary-with-a-few-skulls-on" run is complete
In the Library at least you have something to do. It's genuinely more fun than Halo (level 2 in CE) in terms of replay value for me. Halo 2 has a lot of gondolas and Halo 3 has.. cortana interruptions, and overall I find both of those much worse than the repetitiveness of CE in general.
In hindsight I think it would have been cooler if in Halo 4 and 5 Cortana’s rampancy dealt with traces of the Gravemind showing up in her as she started losing control
Halo 3 has always been one of my favorite campaigns because I played it with my brother and he was always master chief so I got to play the arbiter. Arbiter = Giga Chad.
I love how you have a small following but everyone who does follow you loves you because you’re clever and wholesome. Keep uploading man, you’re genuinely cut out for this.
Ah, this franchise and its immortal quotes. >"Wort, wort, wort!" >"Ezmoz dowz dididdle." >"Last time, you asked me, "If it were my choice, would I do it?" >"I think we're just getting started." >"If they came to hear me beg, they will be disappointed." >"What would you have your Arbiter do?" >"There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?" >EVERYTHING Sgt. Johnson says >"Yes, I have one blue eye and one green eye. Can we get on with it?!" >"Didn't I get you this for Christmas?" >"Make me a sandwich!" >"He's just not here right now..." OK, that last one was from Red VS Blue, but still...
I love Halo 3's campaign (except Cortana, of course), but the interruptions from Cortana and the Gravemind hurts replayability. That's really only something that is engaging once, then it becomes a hindrance.
Removing the Cortana/Gravemind slowdowns in my H3 mod was one of the best things I did. Wasn't even hard and rarely causes real problems. Also addressed some of the other problems here. I just wish I could back in time to help "fix" H3 before it came out. What's said and done is just that though: modding is the best way to take action and "give back" to this game that means so much to me. Anyways, nice vids. :) Been watching you a while and I've been thoroughly entertained by most of them. I shall watch your career with great interest. :)
You can feel the absence of Joe Staten in the writing of this game. But still a great conclusion for an amazing trilogy, and the definitive ending for the Halo saga as a whole. FORERUNNERS WERE ANCIENT HUMANS
Yet in the terminals it was clearly hinted at they were different species. Why did they decide to have the way the story and the terminals treat them be inconsistent
@@ok-bj8un in one, singular terminal, written by frank o connor, that actively contradicts the other terminals and the entire rest of the game, written by the actual writers.
@@rustyshovel7179 I guess so. Very much prefer the split between forerunners and ancient humanity though. I like the concept of modern humanity stemming from the forcibly devolved remains of a once highly technologically advanced species.
What are the reasons people don’t like Tsavo Highway? It’s in the top half of the levels for me in halo 3. A) it’s visually beautiful. Coming out of the dark cave system to be greeted by the golden African plains with the collapsed space elevator and half-excavated Ark portal is a fantastic moment B) fun frantic vehicle combat sections that introduced one of my favorite vehicles the chopper C) that huge ship that goes “KCHUEEWWWWW” over your head is awesome D) the whole level (as well as most of halo 3) feels like you are the unstoppable force the covenant fear you as puncturing straight through covenant forces that thought they’d won with your group of marine followers
Keep up the videos dude! It says a lot how there are so many videos out there about the Halo series that I've watched over the course of like a decade and you manage to make them fun and keep me watching them.
This is the first time I have heard Sir Hood utter the words "one final effort" in this video. because In the Japanese dubbed version, the subtitle is translated as 「これが最後の踏ん張りどころだ!」 and the voice-over is translated as 「総力を上げてかかれ!」(All hands on deck!).
Dunno if you see comments on videos this old, but to make both of the flood hive levels a lot easier, use brute shot's melee. It does extra damage and actually one or two shots the pure forms in juggernaut or regular form. It's also an ammo efficient way of getting rid of infected enemies in tight quarters
I say this as a diehard halo fan, but the internet jerks these games off so hard that seeing someone even ironically criticize them is a breath of fresh air lol.
The hornet actually does control different compared to OG. Before you would "look" up/down to change the hornet's elevation, but this change feels better since you have independent controls for vertical and horizontal control.
I’m the best driver when it comes to the warthog, I played the last level in halo combat evolved, and halo 3 more times than any level in the series, it’s my 2 top favorite!
Tbh I never really realised until fairly recently but the halo 3 story and writing is really shitty, probably the worst story from the bungie era even if the levels themselves were pretty good
1:24 "Sorry for the tight squeeze. Tell the commander her ace is in the hole." Tell me I'm not the only one that suffers from the compulsion to say "That's what she said" every time.
I never really held that fond of memories of Halo 3 from back in the day. I tried the campaign again on MCC. and jfc was it so insanely piss easy. I used like 6 skulls just to make it interesting. I also tried the multiplayer a little bit, and damn I dont remember it feeling so bad? Unless 343 just fucked the game up in the MCC. I just hated how the game felt and controlled. Reach is so so much smoother to play That being said Halo 2 (campaign) is hands down the best for me.
You can have the driver's side of a Warthog against a rock and Ghost shots will clip through the Marine riding shotgun and kill you. Make it make sense.
