Bartels' 'Road Race Guy', John Sosebee, puts the 2019 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob through its paces in the twisties of LA. Thank you to Joey Andrews @thestiglette for the video and Bartels' Harley-Davidson for the bike.
@Joseph Marton First off this is a professional pushing the bike to the absolute limit so you need to be dressed properly. And second, it's no super bike so of course it won't be able to lean like a Yamaha R6.
I was not even two minutes into this video and it's already one of the best reviews i've seen in 2 yrs. Great job. I already wanted the bike and this just made me not want to wait much longer.
Great review. This video made me realize two things. I WANT ONE! I really ride like an old man in no rush to go anywhere. Keep these great videos coming. Thanks.
my first bike was an iron 883 which I got last year. Went to test drive the soft tail slim with the intention of upgrading. they pulled out the fat bob and the slim, tried them both and it was an instant love affair with the fat bob. no regrets.
I love my 2020 Fat Bob!!! It's my first Harley and 30 years since i been on a bike. I previously had a brand new 1991 GSX-R 750 when I was in my youth. I test rode a bunch of bikes and the Fat Bob just felt right to me. Almost 14K miles and there is no going back now.
Looking into buying a Fat Bob, I feel like I've watched just about every so-called review/test on YT! And most of them are just pedestrian processions behind a guide on a demo day. Interesting, but rarely insightful. As someone who has ridden all kinds of bikes - including litre sportsbikes - I think this is maybe the most insightful video I've found about how it feels and performs. Thanks for doing it. Oh - and as for the riding kit? Great stuff. Safety first when working - which this was - but also reinforces the point that this reviewer is not your typical Harley die-hard! And he's used to performance machines. THAT is the person I needed a review from. Top stuff all round. PS: John - if you're reading - that bend you took at 60 that would be 120 on a sportsbike. What speed do you think the Fat Bob could take it at?
Love the review man thank you, and the fact you used to riding much more sportier stuff is a great barometer for me; it’s good to have that perspective and input. Cheers and respect; stay corona safe- ie get the coronas out of the safe and have a beer👍.
I got my Fat Bob about 3 months ago, I gotta say I love it. I've been able to ride almost every bike Harley has out and then some. Loved your review, very thorough, and you actually Rode it, and know how to ride. It has a lot of potential for upgrades as well. As it sits stock, it has a good amount of power and its very easy to manage. I do agree on the Mirrors, you can only adjust them so much and I'm also not fond of the horn placement. But you do get used to it. I've almost got 19,000km in that short of time, the rear brakes leave something to be desired and does the suspension. It does great for stock, but there are way better options available like Legend or Ohlins.
Excellent, in a language we could understand, for 20:01mins. Ps No full pipes allowed! Homeless everywhere! Lamborghini supercar! The EU Consortium would be proud to have California as a new member! Truly!
@bartelsHD best motorcycle review bar none brother. I have the dyna 09 fat Bob that I love riding and it gives as much as I take . Man your coverage is spot in this video. Keep doing what you do. Stay up and stay alive
A slipper shift would definitely be easier but at the moment it isn't an option. Harley thought that with this bike a traditional manual transmission would suit it best.
Take those bars off and put some 7' risers with a set Motocross bars and will love it even more. TBR 2-1 pipe and a stage 2 HD tuner and she becomes a stump puller !
I really love these, i just don't think i can step down from my S1000R and still enjoy it. Granted I realize they are completely different bikes but..... idk i love em both lol
Nice balanced review Mate. You can tell you ride other bikes so you can give it an honest appraisal. I have owned mine for 2 years. It's a love/hate bike. If I'm honest poor build quality and reliability. The tyres are the first thing to change in the wet cold UK, and it could use a better rear shock for sure. I think it's a frustrating bike in that it's too good for it's own good so you can become exasperated with it if that makes sense? It's quick but not quick enough and it handles but not quite well enough...Yet get on something like an Enfield classic those things don't seem to matter.
That's 100% true. It for sure is far from perfect which gives the bike it's interesting character. Plus there's nothing like an Enfield classic for sure!
Probably the best intro to a review ever! 😂 The mirrors are definitely an issue for sure, but luckily it is something you can change out. And yes like most Harleys this bike doesn't easily go into neutral as well.
I know, it's not what you expect to see someone wearing on a Harley-Davidson! Even though its looks heavy and bulky once you're riding its not too bad!
I wear protective gear also it's catching on slowly Harley guys are a tough sell on it but if you ask most of them did wear gear when they rode their dirt bikes growing up. There's some pretty Kool protective flannels and jeans with padding built in so it is hard to say who is wearing what sometimes.
@@joebehanna5894 You're absolutely right, safety is definitely a priority. Nowadays there really is no excuse for not wearing safety gear as there are so many awesome options!
I think its cool to wear protective suit even on a harley. But his pants color shouldve been black tho... to match the bike and his jacket...dark color harley is always awesome
I love Harleys, I also love the Fat Bob.... but honestly, you cannot compare this to a real sportsbike. I like however that you said it is good, for a Harley...
Lane splitting not legal here. You wouldn't get through a day here without someone feeding you a car door and then it will be your fault and you will pay for all of it. Also in the 35 plus years of my driving, I've used the horn 4 times ever. Thanks for the Video. Oh and weaving back and forth between lanes here is considered reckless driving.
Steve Tackle! Don't listen to this guy! what do you want outta your bike? Upgrades, Mods, Sport bike features? Damn ! Buy a freakin sport bike! Or buy a freakin HARLEY! Wait maybe you need an INDIAN A mans bike or a HARLEY with BIG FAT TIRES and EVERYTHING!
