Yeah but then they’d have to throw in some stupid plot about the human getting swindled by other humans or turning the Bigfoot family into a group of hunters or poachers to then realize he is part of the family and save them in the end. I’d rather just not

Hungarian guy here. I used to catch episodes of this show on a German channel in the mid-nineties and I loved Harry, his appearance, the intricate animatronic mask and the lifelike facial expressions they could achieve with it. I mostly remember livingroom episodes, I had no idea the world found out about Harry in the second season. It deserves to be mentioned that the German version of the theme song is a pretty spot on translation and it works really well. I love that you dig up shows like this! Thank you for your work, keep it up! 🙏👏👑

I used to watch this show when I was a kid. I grew up on Rhein Mein Air Force Base and I can't remember if it aired on Armed Forces Network or if I saw it on one of the few British channels we had access to. This comment leads me to think it was the latter, but it could have been either or both. Either way, I got to see quite a few episodes, but don't remember any of them as well as the movie.

Produced in association with Amblin Television and MCA-TV Exclusive Distributor. It lasted only for three successful seasons from 1991 to 1993 with a total of 73 episodes. It was great fun. I do remember it existing. I went to Universal Studios in 93, there was 3 stages on a tour that took you behind the scenes of Back To The Future, Harry and The Henderson's and sometjing else? I can't recall the other. The BTTF showed the miniature model of the Delorean, a few behind the scenes shows on a screen, an audience member would be picked to be Doc on the clock tower ledge trying to reconnect the wires, and I got picked to be Marty with a girl to be Jennifer and sit in an interior cockpit of the Delorean as it rocked around and showed us speeding along on the blue screen. Then the next set was HATH where they showed the kitchen area, and I think they did some sound effects things before they had an audience member be tricked into having Harry sneak up behind them to scare them. I only remember seeing maybe one or two episodes on TV, but don't remember anything about it, but the back stage tour thing at Universal, CA was great memories.

Loved the movie as a kid and honestly I still think it's a fun watch today, even if just to admire how fantastic the makeup on Harry was. I don't recall seeing this show itself on television, but I do remember at Universal Studios Hollywood there was a sound show based on it in the early 90's, similar to the monster sound show at Disney-MGM studios. The host of the show referred to the TV show as "the _hit _ television show, Harry and the Hendersons" and I thought that was funny as I didn't even know there was a H&TH TV show until then. At the end of the presentation the person called up onto the stage to make noises was supposed to scream and unbeknownst to him or her there was someone in a Harry costume creeping up behind them to scare them.

Funny, I'm swissgerman and I remember the show but didn't even know there was a movie. As a child I always admired the house in the show, a house mostly out of wood surrounded by trees. Ah yes, I remember this show. I used to watch it when it was on, as I LOVE the movie. It's my dad's favorite film, and mine too. I do remember there was an episode where they TRIED returning Harry to the forest, only to find it completely gone. All the trees were cut down, it was completely deforested, so the Hendersons brought him back home. I don't remember much else about the show, except they had a wacky neighbor, and I faintly recall one episode where George and Nancy end up in jail. I wonder why Universal hasn't released this series on DVD or even streamed it. They own the rights, so what's stopping them?

Speaking of forgotten failures, how about a video on the unsold pilot based on the Elisabeth Shue movie "Adventures in Babysitting" (which also came out in 1987). It aired only once CBS on a Friday night in July 1989. It featured Jennifer Guthrie as Chris Parker (the Elisabeth Shue role), a post-Gimme a Break/pre-Blossom Joey Lawrence as Brad (the Keith Coogan character from the movie), and a pre-Beverly Hills, 90210 Brian Austin Green as Daryl (the Anthony Rapp character).
