Given the puzzle nature of the dungeon, hermits who get stuck in the ice trap might expect a secret way to escape, and be confused or disappointed with a straight up death. Maybe add some notes in the chest that say 'GG' or something. It can rub in the fact that they got trapped, while also letting them know that they aren't missing anything and don't have to come back to look for the 'secret that would have let them live'

For those who aren't aware, the trick is that when you get the option to switch it _looks_ like a 50/50 chance because there's only two doors; but actually there's a 67% chance (2/3) that you picked a wrong door in the first place, which means it's a 67% chance that you win if you switch and lose if you don't.

@@aliciacordero8399 Well i was never good at stochastic but the way i see it is that the first pick is entierly meaningless. If it was the right door, or the wrong one dosent affect the chances of the second pick at all, because in both cases a wrong door gets eliminated and there is no way to tell if the door you chose on the first pick was the right one or not. Personally i would stay with my first pick, because i would hate myself if i was right from the start and then changed my mind and picked the wrong door 🙂

Tango: the way you have hazard will trigger many traps at the start and few at the end of a run. If you have a 1 in 18 chance to trigger, and 18 untriggered traps, you'll trigger about one per hazard. Later in a run you might only have one left, it will need on average 9 more hazard pulses to trigger one hazard trap. One solution is to speed hazard up over time. Every hazard pulse, remove one item from the hopper clock.

Tango, you absolute madman. I love that trap, and I can't wait to see the reactions of the other hermits when they inevitably fall for it, if they decide to record it of course... Anyway... what if told you, you could make them *WANT* to fall for it afterwards :) Make it into a ''prize pool'' where each players death to that trap, increases the ''jackpots'' value, but also the risk of the trap triggering. To add insult to injury, a full chest will hook the trap up to Hazard, potentially locking a player out from even getting to it. To make sure the chest is never empty if it's been collected on a previous run, make a buffer station that puts something in the chest, when the game is turned off, if there's nothing in it. As an added bonus, you could make one of these ''prize pools'' on each floor, each one being better value, but also more dangerous.

Watched all your episodes for your last Decked Out, but not the streams…this time around I’m catching both and you amaze me. Your game making skills combined with your redstone knowledge is an amazing combination! I’m always like “can you DO that in Minecraft?! Well, yes, Tango can.

I would just like to thank you Tango, watching Hermitcraft through multiple creators has really helped my mentality but especially your videos have. Seeing your persistence and commitment to your work has really inspired and helped me to better my own commitment to my work and even just my daily life. And I’m sure I speak for many viewers when I say this. Thank you Tango for your incredible work and still staying you throughout it all. Please make sure you are still eating and resting well

In Half-Life, there is a monster called Jeff that's big, bulky and blind. You can't kill it, and you need to distract it in order to get to your objectives. Pretty much like the warden. That's why I think Decked Out's warden should be called Jebb, as a nice reference to Half-Life Alyx and Jeb, the minecraft developer. Think it fits even if you don't know Half-Life.

I have been watching many of the hermits since season 5, and I’ve got to say this might be my favorite season of tango. He does so much stuff in 1ep, and not too long ago he pretty much built the entire exterior of his base in 1ep.

if you fill it with slowness arrows they may be forced to stay in the deadzone longer of the arrows, or you could do poison arrows to just continue to drain their health after they went through the trap

Strange idea for a card; well, two actually: 1. Iron Lungs: You can breath underwater 2. Danger Sense: An number of traps are closed off or cannot be triggered (depending on the trap) Iron Lungs was mostly inspired by your water tunnel, but also that water trap you made in this video.
@sethsmith2608
@sethsmith2608 Год назад
Iron lungs, though cool, would be very difficult to activate because you would have to have a conduit near every water pocket in the entire game, and also that might risk killing some of the mobs that need to always be alive

I think this has started to pull together nicely. The Minecart issue he must not have noticed but pushing the button to go is what creates the extra Minecart. The setup over all is looking good.

Idea: I think players holding a light source like a lantern is really great for the explorering mood. Blaze rods might be better so they can't break out of your trap. Maybe get one on the front gate so most people have to stop at the gate. You can even guess an area they will stop from the item drop area. Might fix your front gate trigger?

You were looking for something to do with the top of the Citadel, and I've got an idea. At the very bottom of Decked Out, far below the fourth level, there lies a key with a warning. Taking this key activates a timer that will *lock off the entrance of the dungeon.* This key unlocks the door to the top of the tower, atop which the greatest artifact imaginable lies

Tango - be careful not to punish players for doing good things via traps. The water trap is effectively just a 1st time penalty and punishes the player for doing something good (exploring and having a keen eye). There is no warning or common sense idea of risk vs reward. If you put a chest in a pit of lava with some parkour, the player knows they are taking a risk to reach it. But the water trap feels unfair and I feel like there will be confusion as to if they can break the "temporary" ice block or not. Super excited for Decked Out 2 though and awesome work!

1) I believe the second minecart following you as you proceed into the dungeon is for a ravaged to ride, it follows you after you drop down the shaft. I think that’s what you said in a previous video 2) 16:28 the reason the ice didn’t form was because of the fish swimming right there at that moment. Totally unsure how to stop fish from spawning though

Starts off by reminding everyone that he did "a little bit of base building" last episode. Because in Tango's world, "little bit" means "bigger, grander and more amazing than anything I will ever even attempt." Good ole Tango "I'm not a builder" Tek. Lol. What a guy.
