I'm just gonna put this out here as a Mom.. Most of us will do anything and everything for our children.. I have 2 boys... they don't play sports but I've pretty much been the only constant in their lives.. My boys were at my home yesterday.. my oldest is 36 and my youngest is 24.. I'm a proud mom.. they are both doing so well. That's all a Mom wants. I've gone from feeding my boys crackers and ketchup to yesterday Ribs and chicken. Mom's will make it happen

You're pausing at all the right places, lol. I've watched your Larry Bird reactions and just want to say how much I appreciate the fact that you take in what is being said in these videos. You can tell when someone isn't paying attention, but you do.

Bird is the best all around player ever. He's in the top 3 players ever. MJ, Bird, Wilt, Kareem, Bill Walton, Kobe all are in my top players ever.

I think Mama Bird made him promise to finish college and that's why he stayed for his senior year.

His mother knew that a full scholarship was the only way he could attend college. She wanted him to be able to get a college degree. THAT'S why she was irritated and disappointed when he left after 24 days. It's also why, when he went off to ISU a year later, she made him promise to graduate. And the rest of that story is _History_. 🙂

I don't watch much basketball now days.. My why back in the day was a huge Sixers fan and loved Dr. J.. hated Larry because Larry was that good. I was a little girl in the single digits.. Now I'm in my 50's and watching these videos and have so much respect for Larry Legend. He truly played against some of the greatest of all times, was called the slow, chubby white guy.. but the he made it happen.. I can't imagine what his career would have been if he hadn't gotten that back injury in the mid/late 80's.. Truly

It was acfull tde at IU. In Indiana, beforevthey killed it with Class Basketball like the rest of the country, it was "run what you brung" six good players could do it, go to the Final Four Now we hv 1A 2A 3A 4A 5A 6A champs. Google Huntingburg Memorial Gym. We geld the Sectional, 4 county teams, Perry Centaral too. Our gym when built held more than the town, 6,300. In the 80s they added risers booting capacity to over 7K. Recent famous players thst played there, Colson Montgomery (first rd pick Chicago White Sox kut of high school, set the school scoring record his jr year, hoops his first love) NBA ALL STARS from Holland (pop 500) Don Buse, Gene Thormolien (Colson also a Holland kid, Don & Gene pre consolidation) My class, 85 & 86 Southridge made the Final Four at Market Square Arena. 380 students, vack to back...we partied hard. Marion Giants beat us rd 1 each time, top 10 USA hr year, SR yr they were number one in the USA. We held the ball, got the open shots after careful work, they didn't fall. Indiana still produces great players but the State Tournament sucks, nothing special, it's like your states now but not that long ago it was awesome.

i was a freshman in high school when BIRD and MAGIC came into the leage and VERY FEW PEOPLE TALKED BASKETBALL by time i was a senior EVEYBODY talked basketball. its so cool to see young men like you that look back and appreciate what i witnessed every night. The video has music that might get claimed, but listen to the audio for the first minute or so because he's miked up and you can hear how crazy he was on game day.

Wilt was the greatest athlete ever. 7'2" . 7'11" wingspan. 48" vertical. 4.4 40 yard dash . 500lbs bench press. Never fouled out of a game. Avg 50 points 25 rebounds and played all but 6 minutes of the season. Said he was just a scorer . Led the league in assist. Still holds 72 NBA records. Mike and Wilt only Goat candidates. Kareem 3rd

Bird leads Doncic in the following regular season stats: MPG, FG%, FT%, RPG, SPG, & BPG. I can see a few similarities in their games, but Luka is just not at Larry's level. To be fair, Doncic does lead Bird in two categories: 3P% and APG.

Luka is a great rebounder.. but he doesnt grab double digit rebounds YET like Bird did. and he doesnt do it in the paint with players like Rodman, Barkley, Oakley and Malone.. also he dont got the defensive numbers that bird got.. but neither does Lebron ;)
