Hello. I was watching a video from NS Builders and they were showing off a custom kitchen where they had specified micro-shaker door and drawer fronts (the raised shaker profile was 1/2” wide and about 1/4” deep). The interesting thing was, rather than outlining each door or drawer front on all four sides with the raised shaker edge they only had it on certain edges. For example, on a base cabinet with three drawers the raised edge detail was on the top and sides of the upper drawer front, only on the sides of the middle drawer and on the sides and bottom of the lower drawer. From a distance the three drawer fronts looked like one large recessed panel. It was the same design for a drawer over a door. Have you ever used this design detail?
I've never used it personally, but it sounds rather interesting. It also sounds like it would need to be custom made by a builder. My only concern would be how it looks after 10 years- if the doors still aren't perfectly in line, it may take on an interesting look...
